This game has it all if you like spooky games. Has real actors too. Accents were good, and not irritating as so many are.
Two modes of play, easy or more difficult. The HOS were excellent, varied and mainly very clever. The first time I've really looked forwards to seeing them. Not too many either.
A bit too much hand holding if you read the clues. The hint system was excellent too.
Length was about 3 hours playing more difficult level with no sparkles.
One of the best non CEs of late...
I recommend this game!

I played the trial hour, and that was enough for me. The music drove me mad, and the voices weren't that great either. The Irish accent wasn't very authentic.
There are way too many HOS (albeit it interactive), and it was this that spoiled it for me. Also very little to do in each location, and game play very linear.
The graphics were a bit fuzzy too. I played advanced mode, and even then so much hand holding. I never once had to fathom anything out for myself. This coupled with the recurring HOS made the game all a bit dull.
I don't recommend this game.

I'm a sucker for CEs, but this game didn't excite.

This review is based on the hours' trial. I buy most CEs, and was looking forwards to this one as I enjoyed the previous Sable Maze game. There was way too much hand holding even in advanced mode. I played advanced to avoid the dreaded sparkles, but in at least two easy and straightforward puzzles there were sparkles showing you what to do.
The HOS were excellent, interactive and had a different take on them. A nice change from junk piles. Hope, unlike some games after the trial hour, these interactive HOS continued.
The graphics were ok, but nothing amazing.
Various collectables but couldn't see the relevance.
All in all a bit of a yawn. Not the worst CE by any means, but with so many fab games out there didn't feel the need to buy this one.
Good idea to try the trial hour and make up your own mind. I'm on the fence with this game...may purchase the SE.
I recommend this game!

I didn't totally dislike this game, but not worthy of a CE! It didn't run that smoothly, and arrows to different locations not easy to see.
I liked the fact that there were no HOS, as they can get tedious and boring.
Couldn't find a strategy guide, and at times the hint system didn't help you.
Cut scenes were nicely done, and music was ok. Puzzles were far too easy, and too much hand holding even in advanced mode.
Would buy it as and SE, but not worth CE price. The square screen, rather than full screen detracted a bit too.
Could have been so much better with a few tweaks!
I don't recommend this game.

Not sure how old this game is..but Mac version was released today.
Would have liked the game more if there was an option to play 'sparkle free'!
Loads of HOS, and too many sparkles killed the game for me.
Plus two cursors, and little 'white eyes' everywhere to show you things of interest.
Map was ok, music in keeping with the spooky theme.
5 years ago would have been an ok game, but by today's standards its very dated.
Would suit beginners to this genre. I finished trial and that was enough for me...
I don't recommend this game.

Took ages to finish, and for once an excellent bonus chapter that wasn't filled with boring HOS.
Map was good for moving to different areas, and the hint system was excellent if you needed help.
Loved the graphics, the game play, the music and the puzzles. Puzzles/mini games were all doable without the need to skip very often.
I played advanced mode, so no annoying sparkles.
Could play games of this calibre all day long....definitely worth every penny for this CE.
I recommend this game!

Enjoyed this game. Played advanced level, so no sparkles. Not too many HOS, and the ones that were there had lovely big objects, so took no time at all.
Hint very useful as quite a bit of going back and forth.
Puzzles were all doable, and skip didn't take long to fill if you don't want to complete the mini games/puzzles.
Characters all very wooden, and really funny when they needed to move around...like they were on ice skates!
I played to the end without many puzzle skips, and the game took about 3 hours to complete.
I recommend this game!

This game is like something from 10 years ago! Whilst I enjoy games where you are finding bits and bobs that are relevant in each scene rather than a load of junk, this game was just weird.
You get some inventory items, but rather than being allowed to find them for yourself, a mysterious hand appears and shows you where they are and grabs them for you.
To use the inventory items you click on one, and it does whatever for you so not really interactive.
The chit chat is really irritating with drawn people and huge white boxes with the words in that seem to go on forever..and this recurs throughout the game.
The graphics are really basic and grainy too.
Not the worst game I've played, but by today's standards really boring. The puzzles were mainly jigsaws which I like.
If it hadn't been for the awful dialogue I had to endure over and again, I would have got the game with a PCV just for old times sake!
I don't recommend this game.

This game was really annoying because the play mode options were either easy and medium (both with sparkles), or hard (with no sparkles, hints or skips)! So, played hard mode as hate sparkles, but had to keep switching modes in options to skip puzzles, get a hint or find a HO in a scene.
And even having switched back to hard mode for HOS, the dreaded sparkles still appeared, in what were mildly interactive HOGs.
The music was ok, the graphics good but not exceptional, the voices a bit slow in the chat scenes. There were morphing objects, and other collectibles.
Not an overly long game; finished entire game including bonus level in 4 hours.
The SG was useful and easy to follow.
I bought it as there was a weekend discount, would not have paid full price. A good game for beginners that like to be hand held and shown the way with sparkles, but for more seasoned players it's a bit of a damp squib.
I don't recommend this game.

A good follow on from the devs first 'Final Cut' CE. I'm playing hardest mode because the other two modes have sparkles, and I loathe them. In this mode the hint and skip recharge at a reasonable rate. There is a journal with tasks, and a map. But found the map pretty useless as although you can jump scene to scene, doesn't tell you where there are active tasks to complete.
The cut scenes and VOs are excellent. HO scenes a bit basic and barely interactive, and maybe a few too many of them. Option of a M3 instead, but I couldn't fathom out what the objective was, so stuck with HOS.
Puzzles a bit bog standard in type (jigsaw, turn all the lights on or off etc) and fairly easy.
Played about 3 hours of the game, and enjoyed it. There are 12 morphing things, and I've only found one (by accident). Various other achievements pop up from time to time such as playing HO scene or completing puzzles without using a hint or skip...
I wasn't overly enthusiastic about the first FC game, and actually prefer this game.
Only criticism is that there's not really enough to do in each scene; maybe 3 things in a big room with lots of objects.
Certainly has you using your brain, and in the mode I'm playing not a lot of hand holding which makes a refreshing change!
