I really liked this game for an SE. Played to the end which took 5 hrs with a few puzzle skips. I played advanced level, and for a pleasant change you really didn't get any help; no magnifying glasses, hands, eyeballs, swirling cogs etc to guide you. Excellent hint system too, so didn't need W/T. The HO scenes were really well done, and some contained puzzles too. The only downside to this game was that, in my opinion, there were far too many of the HO scenes which got a bit laborious. Also some items were incorrectly named eg chandelier was a candelabra. All in all entertaining and well worth the money. As we are under tons of rain and flooding here in the UK, it brightened an otherwise dreary afternoon!

Really liked this game. So refreshing to have so few HO scenes, and more enjoyable clever and novel ways of playing iHOG scenes. There was an awful lot to like about this game at the start. As time went by there were no more iHOG scenes, and just a couple of bog standard HOGs but that was all. It almost felt as though the energy and enthusiasm to make this game, started to wane towards the end. My biggest gripe (and these devs are not alone), is the CE bonus chapter. Whilst there was a fair bit to do, why do they pad the extra gameplay out with so many HO scenes? I find it very annoying as those of us that buy the CE editions, pay double. But we rarely get double our moneys worth. The puzzles started off as quite unique, but again over time became more generic. Didn't need to use the SG, and even though I played advanced mode, there was far too much hand holding. So, I started off loving it, and ended up being pleased when it came to an end. Lasted 5 and a bit hours and I skipped a few puzzles.

I'm really enjoying this game. One of the best iHOGs there is. I'm a dog behaviourist, so had to smile when I was awarded a certificate in cynology! The graphics are amazing, and the game is very long too. Choice of casual, advanced and hardcore. I played advanced level. Can't fault this game at all. Quiet a large area to cover with lots of scenes and cut scenes. More like this please!

I played this game to the end, so must have been entertaining. My gripe was that even though I chose advanced level, there were still some dreaded sparkles 'after' I bought the game. It had good graphics and music, and I liked the game play. Very well done interactive HO scenes. Played on my Mac and it was a bit juddery in places, but managed to get to the end. Hope there are more in this series as have played them all. For an SE it was good value for money too.

Its often the little touches that make a game stand out from the rest. There are some clever animations in this game and I love the real actors.. Playing advanced mode there's some hand holding but the challenge is still ok. Excellent graphics, and well done HO scenes. I'm really enjoying everything about it...not too many games keep me wanting to play to the end like this one does.

I've only played the trial hour, and that hour just flew by. The graphics are phenominal, the HO scenes so well done and I can't wait for the full game to D/L to continue playing it. Thought I saw a face on the wall...but then it vanished so I watched it for a short while and it reappeared. It was one of 40 lost souls, so I spent quite a while looking for a few more. The story line and cut scenes are really good too. Being from the UK (the game is set in Scotland), the voice overs weren't too stereotypical. I'm playing advanced mode, even so the hint system is sufficient and refills relatively quickly. It's the little touches in this game that make it entertaining, a few laughs along the way too!

Just love this game. Really has you thinking about what to do next, and where to go. Superb graphics too, A big plus point is that for a refreshing change there are no HO scenes. I was hoping that newer games would drop more of the HO scenes, as they can become tedious. My only annoyance is that in some puzzles if you put the cursor in the wrong place it takes you out of the puzzle, and therefore the skip system starts all over again. The music is relevant, and the use of real actors is a bonus. Of all the recent CEs this has to rank amongst the best! I'm playing expert mode, and to date there's no sparkles at all. And to reach the end of an iHOG without an hourglass in sight made my week! Hope this is part of a series...

I bought this CE having played the trial hour to the end. As a short time went by I realised what a stupid game it is. The voices are annoying, the gameplay different but weird, too many HO scenes, blurry graphics.... The storyline is reminiscent of a science fiction 'B' movie. Not enough to do as a game either. Centres more on the storyline. The arm that gives you hints/clues was different, but using the arm to clear smoke/fog etc was just silly. Not an overly long game either. Usually love games by these dev's, but this had the feel of someone having had a bad dream, and reliving it through this game. Was pleased when it ended. The bonus play wasn't good value. Far too short (and silly)!

This game exceeded many CEs in quality, story, game play and graphics. Played right to the end, which took about 5 hours on advanced level. No map and lots of scenes to visit, but not too much going back and forth. Interactive HOS, not too difficult although the scenes were a bit dark. I really enjoyed the level of difficulty, not too taxing but not too easy either. A BIG plus was having a built in strategy guide. If you like eerie, creepy games this one is for you. A couple of times I thought the game had glitched, but in fact it hadn't. Ran perfectly smoothly on my W7 machine, and smooth cursor. Can't wait to see more games like this from these devs!

The trial hour went so fast, that I knew it was a definate buy. Casual and advanced modes are always welcome. I no longer buy any game with no option to play without sparkles. It's a fun game, and although a bit too much hand holding the games does makes you think and so far, not too much running back and forth. There is no diary to refer to, so you need a good memory or a piece of paper and pen. The hint system is excellent also. The puzzles aren't too challenging, but the way some of them have been put together is a bit different. There is a skip button. The HO scenes are pretty standard with no interaction and the usual find this or that item with no connection to the game. My one annoyance was that the cursor was taken for just three wrong clicks, and it seemed an age before it let me have it back! Why devs do this, I just don't know. It doesn't add to the challenge or game experience. They make one object look like the one you want, then you sit there waiting to play on... I haven't looked at BFG w/t, so don't know the length of the game.
