This is the league that FIFA forgot about and for a damned good reason. These are the silliest futbol players ever! This game is going to go all over the globe, and there will be some new things added to the game that will never happen in the real game. Manchester United might have to deal with fanatical patrons, but they never had to deal with this!
At the start of the game, you choose your nation, and a coach gives you a tutorial. In these games, you earn cash for winnning game, or playing games for a certain score to please the team's investors. With these winnings and such, you can buy new tools and upgrade slots to add skills to your game. These skills and tools are waht makes the game very interesting. You can use mines, oilslicks, speed potions, force fields, and more to help your team win. You can only use certain items per game, though. Your team consists of little players with blue heads, some kind of Fisher-Price body and little arms. Your goal-tenders need those. I found it to be really fun to cut loose with the tools and just let the game run itself until time was called. It was noisy and chaotic, but loads of fun!
If you love soccer, football, futbol or whatever they call it in your country, and don't take it too seriously, then FootLOL: Epic Fail League is perfect for you. This is another game you'll spend the weekend playing and never getting to that honey-do list. Soon, Sunday night will be here, and you'll wonder where all the time went.
I recommend this game!

...And in the spirit of the original Dash games, we have a sunny working vacation where two young people that have been living a life ease on Daddy's money are put to the test by the Man himself when he tricks them into taking a island tour. As they pass by the big resort island, they are a little disappointed until they arrive on another island that is not so commercial, and they are left there to find a way to earn the money to get back home. They confide in the owner of a local tiki bar, and he hires them as bartender and cocktail waitress, and now the brother and sister team are working to take care people not unlike themselves. Some of these people can be rather impatient when it comes to getting their refreshment, and they put those two through the wringer every day.
There are new goals to strive for, upgrades to buy to make doing the job and making money quicker, plus more menu items added along the way to make Katy's job a little bit insane. The plump ladies, local musicians, and the old fishermen are pretty patient with the team, but the lifeguards, surfers, scuba divers, and teens are not. This is why I gave the sound rating of only two. When people get impatient, they squeal out a pretty annoying sound. If you are lucky enough to have a box of fireworks ready for a show, or if the local talent is currently at the bar, you can ease their time a bit, and they won't be in such a rush to leave. I do have to admit, this is a fun game, and don't get discouraged if you might have to start a level over to figure out which upgrade might help you get through it most efficiently. I rather enjoyed this game, and if I got stuck in a similar situation IRL, I might just do the same.
I recommend this game!

Big Bang West was a little different from some of the other strategy building games I had run across before. like most, you had an assignment you had to complete to get a gold reward by doing everything within an allotted amount of time. The thing I did like about Big Bang West was that the timer bar was not visible, therefore, you could play it a little more relaxed. You were to build little Western towns with residences, saloons, mills, and dry goods stores and such. Pretty much ran the gamut of American 19th Century Western culture here. You have advisers popping up, telling you what you need, and what you are missing to get them, from workers to lumber and more. You even get hire lawmen and they do their best to get the bank robbers and other outlaws.
The thing is, even if this does seem like other city builder games you had played before like Caesar or Pharaoh, it moves much faster. The graphics are pretty average, and your towns can build up pretty quickly. Before you know it, you'll have a map dotted with little towns in the desert Southwest along a blue ribbon of a river on that old map. The only sound you pretty much hear is a saloon piano, and the occasional gunfight. It follows Hollywood's rules for living in the Wild West to a T. While there are other Western building games out there, I did find this one to be pretty fun, despite its simplicity. Maybe the simple rules are what makes it that way.
I recommend this game!

I don't know why I tortured myself for less than a hour with the trial of Happy Chef 2. Just like the first time around, I found it exhaughting, and the customers were the most impatient little peeps I had ever seen since Rollercoaster Tycoon 2. this time we start with a pizza and pasta restaurant where we make bland vegetarian dishes featuring pizza pies or pasta with only mushrooms, tomatoes and snap beans as garnishes. Along the way, we add upgrades to make the customers more patient or more likely to spend more money. After a fortnight, you move on to another themed restaurant, but I never got past the Italian one.
There are many cooking games to be found in the casual games market, but I should have learned the first time around not to bother with this one. So many times, when it comes to casual games, the sequel tends to be a little better than the original, due to a new development team, or artists, or just better tech. What this lacked was a storyboard plan and a faster way to earn the items needed for upgrades. Also, a right click option to serve up the food like in the Baking Success game would have made it run smoother. I'm not sure if I'll be trying another Happy Chef game in the future. If the devs can learn from this mistake, I might.
I did notice that other players really loved this game in their reviews. What were they seeing that I was not? I'm not sure what happened there, but I don't think I would have the patience to try again, not just yet.
I don't recommend this game.

Playrix just keeps getting better and better with these undersea trips, except that in Aquascapes, the underwater adventure is not your typical hidden object mystery. We are building high end aquariums and populating them with happy fish, both mundane and exotic. We earn upgrades by playing hidden object puzzles, and earning coins to buy new decorations and pets, along with other accessories for our fishbowls.
Also, a sneaky little thing they do is get you to collect shells, and you might be tempted to click on just the scallop shells, but the shells can take any more, conch shells, snail shells, and even the text "shell" spelled out om some wood. Those shells are great to collect, because you can buy even better stuff with them. You know you've made a hit with the fish when little hearts float about them when you place a new plant or decoration down, and they love the food you give them.
The only problem I had with this game was the background music. It was far too soothing, and needed to be a bit more upbeat. The fish had such fun and cute attitudes, that their music should reflect on that. All said, this was a really cute and fun game, and had a Finding Nemo feel about it.
I recommend this game!

From the mysterious and macabre world of 19th Century France to the modern day corporate world of the business of pharma and fitness, we are going to lighten things up with Fitness Bustle: Energy Boost! As with the modern day world of GMOs and quick fixes in the forms of pills and energy bars, we are going to be a little more wise to the ways of old fashioned work outs in a high energy environment.
When Daisy and her friend run into a salesman trying to push Gristleman's Energy Pills on them while jogging in the park one day, and they see how worn down the young man is, Daisy's friend says that she had tried the pills, too. She just felt worn down after using them. (GMO corn additives, anyone?) As they go further along, they find a local gym for sale, and soon, Daisy opens up the gym, and suddenly, everyone is curious to see if real exercise is better than Gristleman's pills, and then starts the crazy train.
We now have people of all ages coming in to try out the equipment, from a merry-go-round treadmill to stationary bikes to boxing dummies, the patrons take to the gym very well, but they can become impatient if they have to wait around for very long, but there are ways to take care of that with upgrades, as simple as upbeat music and misting fans to very soft and luxurious relaxation stations with soothing music via headphones while they wait for a new workout area to open up. Daisy and her personal training crew are very supportive and with our help can attend to everyone, but they don't always need help, which is not so bad. Keep everyone hydrated, happy, and healthy, and you'll get a great score per level. Also, this game has realistic time goals, so you might find it to be very satisfactory. If only a real workout could be as much fun as Fitness Bustle.
I recommend this game!

I saw a modern day movie adaptation of The Masque of the Red Death back in the early 90s, and this game is far better than that movie. When it comes to stories, no one brings them to life like ERS Games. With every new story they take on, the graphics get more streamlined, and the gameplay gets better. Also, there is more focus on the hidden object part of the game than constantly looking for ways to unlock things.
We have a new mystery to solve, our dashing and brilliant companion, Inspector Dauphin, is with us again, and now we are hunting down a vigilante that is taking down corrupt government officials in 19th Century France. The whole of the game has a smoother feel, as the animations are more fluid, and the choppiness that was commonly seen in older ERS games is gone. We have don't really know whom the true villian is in this case. Is it the cloaked figure in red Masque, or the town politicians that are taxing their constituents dry? Murder is murder, but the slower blood-letting of financial drain can be just as macabre, as it brings on a suffering that cannot be taken out quickly, as one would to kill someone with a quick slash of a sword or piercing of a bullet.
This is just the latest in a series of games that started with The Black Cat. If this is the direction ERS is taking with Poe's works, then bring them on!
I recommend this game!

While it was a great idea to come up with a hidden object game that is purely hidden objects, the execution of this game seemed lacking. The jazzy music seemed fine at the beginning, but soon grew repetitive and droning on, which made me sleepy and therefore I could not concentrate on the game itself. So, if you try this, make sure you go into the options menu and turn off the background music.
The puzzles were fine, and had an adventure theme to them, Atzec temples, caves, jungles, etc. You have to earn coins to buy tools to ease you along on the puzzles, if you get stuck, which seemed easy at first, but it was really tempting to blast through the tools, and when you were out of coins, you were out of luck. The puzzles that were darkened where you had to look for objects using a flashlight could have been left out, but there was a pay-for tool that would turn the lights on for you, too. There were lots of good things about this game, but there are some not so good things, too. Don't be suckered in by the title, but if you must, you will be pleased to know there are no malevolent spirits, psychotic criminals, or creepy old manor houses filled with logic puzzles lurking around every corner. Hey, but you get the bad with the good, and this most definitely falls with in between.
I don't recommend this game.

When it comes to match 3 games, Royal Gems pretty much follows the typical line pattern, like in Magic Match, but before you do ANYTHING with this game, log into the options menu and turn the background music OFF. This will make it much easier to play the game, and you will not find yourself falling to sleep due to a far too relaxing drone of a repetitive tune. Now, get on into the game. You will be matching up icons that look like different kinds of gems, rubies, topaz, sapphires, emeralds, and such. You are given a specific task per puzzle. You need to find so many of a certain kind of stone, and sometimes, find different patterns of line links of gems.
The quicker you do your tasks in a certain amount of time, the better your score will be, and this will give you the ability to buy new tools and other items to ease your gameplay, along with upgrades for the tools. There are some other games out there like this, so it really is not all that exciting, considering it has a rather plain kind of theme, rather than an exotic adventuring theme like The Treasures of Montezuma series. This kind of match 3 puzzle game is about as average as it gets, so you might want to keep searching for something more upbeat and exciting.

There are most likely going to be many holiday themed games out there this week, but this fun little hidden object game was a nice break from the darker mysteries we are used to seeing. This game focuses on two kids from the Heartland, Emma and Mike, and the fun they have in being part of the Easter celebrations out on the farm and in their town as they join their classmates on a fun springtime field trip.
This game is filled with just about everything that Ostara is about, the flowers, candy, farm animals, painted eggs, both from the kitchen and the Faberge' designs. Little logic puzzles, spot the differences, and other kinds of visual mini-games. This game is perfect for everyone, and the kids will love it, especially if they are fans of the Highlights for Children magazines, because this game has many of the same features as that classic schoolroom periodical.
If the kids are looking for something to do after the Easter Egg hunt, then download Easter Eggztravaganza 2, and it will keep them busy for quite some time. This is a fun, wholesome game that parents can join in on to help them out along the way. I game the gameplay rating only a 3, because some hidden objects are too well hidden, and some kids might get frustrated by this, but with a family member to help them along the way, they will get over that soon. So, grab a fun surprise for the family along with those Rise of the Guardians, Hop, and Here Comes Peter Cottontail DVDs, because this will be the only big gathering until the summer barbeques start, and May is quite some time off.
I recommend this game!
