Played most of the demo with hopes of purchasing.( Used to buy without trying, but not lately.) I could not force myself to play this mess of a game if it were free. My complaints concerning this game are repeats of every negative review of this SE. Can't see that the added features of the CE could make the game any better.
Only by consensus (pro or con) can players get the games we want as we want them. This particular game is fun from start to finish. The Legend of Dagon is read to us and the play begins. Not terribly sophistocated, but when the wind blows on the cliff, rocks fall in the mine or the water drips from the cave's ceiling, this game fills the bill. A scary adventure filled with full-screen imaginative scenes , attractive HOs, and attention-catching music. A map, the crystal, and hint button are handy navigation tools. Puzzles range from simple to head-scratchers (for me, at least). Worth the money spent.
Colorful, crisp scenes make this game better that the usual fare. The story is standard. The creatures are more comic book fun than scary. The HOs are pretty, but easy, as are the puzzles. The vo for Nigel is so bad that it had me laughing. There is much running around with inventory items, but the map helps. Guess I have been spoiled by the great games of past years. Lately, there have been none to get excited about. This game included.
Played the demo hoping to find a good game to purchase. Based on many positive reviews of this game, I expected this one to be a winner. This seems to be one of those "love it or don't like it" games. Perhaps this game appeals to its own particular audience. I could not find anything to really like about Sacra Terra:Kiss of Death CE.
Waited for the SE and can't see how another chapter of the same would rate as a CE. Everything about this game was just OK. Artwork a little lifeless and drab for ERS; scenes were heavy on the pirates and everything was big and lacking in detail ; vos were bland, though able to click through character text dialog; music was uninspiring; story predictable; HOs were interactive silhouette type; puzzles fun, but not challenging; and the dog was not necessary to the play. This game is just OK, nothing more.
Played the demo based on BF reviews. Rarely play a demo, then not buy. BUT. Liked the colorful eerie rooms and creepy town and that's all. HOs were boring, puzzles were OK, everything was too small.
Groaned my way through 20 minutes of the demo then uninstalled. The play is simplistic; the storyline much used; the artwork is colorful, but uninspired; the puzzles simple and the HOs are actually boring. This game would be OK for a young player.
I played a few minutes of the demo and bought this game. Conflicted, handsome Henry; his beloved, Anne; her presumed dead brother, Tommy and the masked villian adventure through fantastically executed scenes in imaginative locations.(Could have done without the dead whale at the boat.) The music is appropriate and character dialog is short, to the point and can be clicked through. There is a delay for over-clicking in the gorgeous, clever interactive (click here to find this to do that) HOs. I thought at first that the grayness of the artwork would make this game dull, but after a few minutes, I realized that this watercolor look certainly enhanced the look of every scary scene.
Eerie music fills the air in Vienna, where shadows terrorize people in the streets. Two musical prodigies have gone missing. Can you save them without striking a single false note?
I have all the Maestros and like them all. A pretty game (as expected from ERS) and the music is lovely. BUT, this installment is the same old same old. Many hidden objects are misnamed and the hint button is rather useless. The HOs vary between silhouette search and standard find by text noun and some are interactive (find this and do that to find another). The puzzles are fun, but nothing too challenging. Scaring the horse with fireworks was a little much. I hope this is the last Maestro as this player wishes to remember the series fondly. I recommend this game for those who are true fans of the Maestro series. Perhaps wait for the SE as this game is not CE worthy. Four stars for nostalgia.
Other players have adequately and thoroughly reviewed this gem by VOGAT. I am here to agree with the players who liked this game. Got this one and two others by this dev in the football Sunday sale. Like all three. My two cents.
