Normally, I don't like games that are exclusively - or almost exclusively - hidden object scenes, but this one actually held my interest. I enjoyed the special item location quest that increased hints for every one found. The story line was pretty good, too. Since much of this review hinges on my own model of what makes up a good game, I'm not going to give it a recommendation. However, I still had a pretty good time playing it.
If you like games in a fantasy setting, then this one is just about perfect. Beautiful scenery, pleasant soundtrack, fairly easy puzzles, and an interesting storyline. I liked the fact that the mini-games were not limited only to hidden object scenes. It's a fine introduction to the "Twisted Lands" series, and I recommend obtaining the rest so as to multiply the enjoyment.

This game is another of the very entertaining fantasy games in Big Fish's repertoire. Beautiful graphics, great sound and background music, and mildly challenging mini-games. The storyline was a little disjointed, but still interesting. And the message of peace promoted by the game is especially notable in these times.

This game is a pretty standard hidden object affair, where you solve puzzles to get objects to use to get you to the next puzzle. If anything stands out, it's that you may wander for a long time and collect a lot of inventory before you can use any of it to progress in the game. The graphics were good, and the music and sound effects were not boring or monotonous. The storyline is rather disjointed, and it's difficult to figure out the big picture. The "Maze" is a reality show where ordinary people try to traverse from beginning to end. However, a number of contestants have gone missing and the player is supposed to find them. The game never makes clear why they were abducted - even at the end.

This game is basically a one-trick pony - hidden object scene after hidden object scene, and none interesting enough to capture one's attention. The sound effects and music, if you can call them that, are terrible. I suppose the game is trying to set up a mysterious mood, but it only achieved a steady monotony. The story line was textbook basic: find the hidden object that allows you to go to the next hidden object puzzle. The creators could have done better.

There are too few games involving space travel and alien encounters, so I was very happy that this one turned out to be so good. Great graphics, excellent background music and sound effects, and a solid, if somewhat implausible, storyline. The hidden object and mini-game puzzles were at just the right difficulty level so that they were entertaining without being frustrating. I enjoyed the game so much I actually played it twice in a row.

This game was just pure fun. The storyline, which is about a would-be knight trying to kill a dragon to save a princess, was written with mildly sarcastic humor which had me giggling at times. I thought the dragon was a hoot! Also, I loved the medieval music score. Hidden object scenes were not difficult, and the game was not especially challenging, but what it lacked in difficulty it more than made up for in entertainment.
This is one of the best games I've played yet. The scenery, music, and storyline were just excellent. Surprisingly, there were more puzzles and mini-games than hidden object scenes. Some of the puzzles really made me think, but the challenge level was just right - difficult, but definitely doable. Also, I enjoy games that have awards you can earn as you play - just enhances the entertainment value. The ending narrative sounds like BoomZap is setting up for a sequel. Here's hoping they make it happen.
Hey, talk about getting your money's worth! This game offers more play time for the buck than almost any other I've played - and I've played a lot of them. It just goes on and on, with ever more rooms to explore and more mini-games to play. It never gets boring, however, and as the story unfolds, more and more secrets are revealed that add depth and color to the legend. Some of the mini-games are difficult almost to the point of frustration, which is why I knocked off a star from the "Level of Challenge" rating. To me, a perfect level of challenge involves puzzles that make you work to solve them, but don't cost hours of misery ending with a keyboard thrown against the wall. Still, using the "SKIP" key once or twice is a small price to pay for being able to play this incredible offering by Elephant Games. I can't wait to try the rest of the series.
As the title states, I love games with steampunk or gadgetry themes, and this one delivers that and more. In addition to the inventive and artful designs within the house - including the robot version of the "great grandmother" - the game offers a charming musical score, interesting mini-games, and an excellent alternative to standard hidden object puzzles. In these, one must identify objects by a certain characteristic, rather than a specific name. The storyline is light and breezy and the ending is complete and doesn't leave one hanging. I really hope that GI games follows up with another in the steampunk style.
