The hidden object scenes are timed and many of the objects are incredibly small and difficult to see even when you're looking right at them Not a good combination for a fun game.
I don't recommend this game.

The Silent Age
Help Joe discover the truth behind humankind's extinction! Can a simple janitor and literally, "the average Joe," save humankind?
This was more entertaining and well written than most of the movies I've seen lately. I really liked the minimalist artwork, the synth soundtrack and the outstanding voice acting and I think the game play was some of the best I've encountered. Great story and the game made me actually have to think since there weren't any clues. I loved this, I hope we see more of Joe in the future. Well done, dev team.

Whispered Secrets: Golden Silence Collector's Edition
A man has gone missing in the town of Rockshire, but the townspeople deny he was ever there. What dark secret are they hiding?
Best helper I've seen, he's there when you need him and gives a little growl if you click on him when you don't. No need to drag him to the location, he's already on the job. He's adorable too.
The graphics are very good and the voice acting is terrific. The main game might seem like a re-do of similar storylines but if you keep playing through the two bonus games, it has a unique twist that explains everything.
This is one of the best games I've played this year, high recommend.

Riddles of the Past
Discover the secrets of Riverside, the abandoned town without memory. Save your love and avert the catastrophe facing the doomed town!
I like everything about this game. The music is pretty without being obtrusive, the graphics are some of my favorites since they remind me of a late summer day in my memories of growing up in Southern California and the puzzles are unique and fun without being frustratingly difficult. One of the best non-CE standard edition games I've played recently.

Subliminal Realms: The Masterpiece Collector's Edition
Albert's worst nightmare becomes reality when a creature from his grim paintings kidnaps his family. What does she want?
This isn't quite another "into another world via a painting" storyline, it's a little more subtle than that. An artist has painted subjects from his subconscious that have somehow been imbued with life, and not always in a pleasant manner. He's trying to save his wife and child... or are they? His memory seems to be slipping, why can't he remember his wife's face?
Good voice acting, an intelligent helper with an intriguing accent, and an interesting mix of computer generated characters and hand drawn HOS with some clever puzzles. Fun game!

Forgotten Kingdoms: The Ruby Ring Collector's Edition
Only the wearer of the ruby ring can claim the crown as king.
This game doesn't have anything new or exciting in it but it's pretty and well acted with a serviceable story and some fairly hard puzzles. I enjoyed finding the crowns, they were well disguised and everywhere, even in pop-up scenes. I would have liked a better sale price but I think it's still good value for the money.

Grim Facade: Hidden Sins Collector's Edition
A masked vigilante has the town of Coldstone in a death grip!
The developers have (again) tried something new, they've gone toward the dark and gritty rather than the bright and silly and I really like it. This almost looks like a completely different group of artists were involved, there are still touches of recognizable ERS embellishments but the story and artwork is much more realistic and rather grim.
I've always appreciated how responsive these developers have been to their customers and I admire how much they've ventured into a different story telling genre than we're used to. This is definitely worth a look if you enjoy more suspenseful story telling.

The graphics are very nice, artwork is excellent and the game play is some of the best I've seen lately. I'm impressed with how they organically integrated puzzles and HOS into the game, there's no jarring and illogical need for something that makes absolutely no sense for the story or objective. The puzzles are clever too, not terribly challenging but really fun to work out rather than frustrating. The dialog is stilted and the little vice demons speak in some nonsense language but to me, that adds to the charm of the game. A really nice surprise for an SE.
