When I bought this a couple of years ago, there weren't nearly all of the sophisticated games that are out there at present. Having said that, I played this again today with my granddaughter, who didn't care for the continual "Loading" from one scene or experience to the next. I liked the HOS's, and I liked the three different scenarios. It's a simple, easy to finish game.
I recommend this game!

Emma and the Inventor
Save Emma’s grandfather who has accidentally trapped himself in a mysterious void in Emma and the Inventor!
I honestly cannot remember much about playing this game the first time through. It was on the short side and the characters were cute enough, so I put it up for my granddaughter today and she whizzed through it! She's 11 years old and it was one of the three or four HOS games that she has played, so she caught on pretty quickly. Nice little game.
This game gets all five-star ratings from me just because it was so much fun! The characters, the dialog, the scenes being acted out, the humorous references, the HOS's, the puzzles, and oh, just everything!
The entire town has been put into a deep, dark sleep by a mysterious evil force. Now young Lillian must find allies and uncover the dark secrets of voodoo in order to save her master and free her friends before it is too late.
First, the story is good, the scenes are very interesting and engaging, even if the drawing of the characters is a little goofy. The HOS's are definitely challenging, and you really do need the magnifier at times, even the hint button because some of the objects are so very well hidden as to be impossible to discern. You really need the custom cursor, as well, because if you don't use it, there is no clue as to what you should be looking at, or where you should be going. My complaint, if I'm correct, is that there doesn't appear to be a follow-up game that is promised at the end. I bought this a couple of years ago, and I still don't see the sequel to let me know what happens to my character! Come on, now!
I would have given this game higher marks if not for some of the muddy HOS's. I enjoyed the game play and the movement of the story. A wee bit of the dialog was tedious, but overall not bad. My only complaint is some of the objects and their ridiculously difficult graphic display. Some of the scenes I just had to randomly click and hope I hit something, it was that bad. Mostly well done, though.
I loved this game with its scenes of small Paris streets and shops. I like this type of HOS, with painted objects and an antique feel to everything. Very nice.
Five starts all the way on this one, and no hesitation about giving this one a real stamp of approval! Worth every dime for the SE since you really don't need the CE at all. Interactive map that helps you move around, shows you where you should be gaming, a great story with 6 full chapters, puzzles to keep you interested, and all the other stuff that makes a great game.
What a terrific game! It has everything I love, and what's more, it was very challenging. This is a must-have game for all of us who love to play a game over several days, and who need all the help they can get! The hints are very clear, and there's an interactive map to move through the scenes. I loved this game. And sorry to say, I desperately needed the skip button on some of the puzzles!
Absolutely great game! Pretty tough puzzles for me, and I admit having to use the skip button more than I wanted to do. Just couldn't figure out how to do some of them. Loved the scenery, the characters, the storyline, the HOS's and the length of the game. Way to go, Elephant!
I really enjoyed playing this game over the weekend after buying it. Played the trial CE, but waited for the SE to purchase, and I'm glad I did. I didn't need a strategy guide, and didn't use the hint button much. I liked the painted HOS's and the puzzles, and enjoyed the scenes. Good game.
