I am not big fan of fantasy adventure games but this one is an exception. I have never heard of the developer but this game is pretty good! Love that the there are very few unnecessary actions and long conversations. Storyline just flows nicely. There are lots of back and forth but with the map it's not a hassle. There are few HO games but when there are, they are good and meaningful, not just finding objects.
The graphic is crystal clear and the animation very lifelike. Extras are abundant although don't really add much to the game itself. I will definitely buy this game :)

I love MCF games especially Dire Grove and 13th Skull, but the game quality goes downhill after it is handled by Elephant Games. I love EG, they are one of the best game dev. out there and produced many good quality games, and I am their fan, but they should not handle MCF. I hate to collect stuff, this is not about collectibles. MCF is about a good mystery storyline. Now MCF games are just like another Elephant Games product, with no special something.
First of all, the opening.. is not engaging at all. The animation is great, but they are not natural. Now I prefer the original MCF where we had live actors and I praised their act as they looked so natural, and really scared. Now, those expressions are gone. The atmosphere should be very very cold, but the characters' fashion and sound, they don't look cold at all. I hate the main character's voice as well. There's no rush, no expression. The music, although they use some of the original MCF music, it is repeated over and over, it gets boring and no longer bring spookiness feeling. Instead EG put their own sound which is good but definitely not fit for an MCF game. I hate the option of conversation, dislike the fact that it is just like any other game.
There's this cash register machine where we need to put coins to buy inventory items. I hate that option. The game has become lazy. Some of the scenes are from old MCF Dire Grove, but they don't bring the same amount of creepiness to it. They just bland, like they are just there to make sure that you remember you are playing Dire Grove.
I am only playing the demo and I got bored after Chapter 1. I definitely not going to recommend this game for you who are die hard MCF fan. I'd rather replay my old MCF games than playing this one.
In this ghostly continuation of the Fear for Sale series, you've discovered a luxury ocean liner bears an eerie resemblance to a ship that vanished years ago.

I own several Fear for Sale games and I am glad that their games are getting better each time. Although the story has no connection with each other, it still features Emma as the main character, a journalist but lately has become a detective ^^;;
I love stories about shipwrecks so this one is also a favorite of mine. The usual 4 levels of difficulties, and usual extras are not the draw for me to buy the CE but this game is good enough to be added for my FFS collection.
The game is rather easy, both puzzles and HOGs and storyline. Those who want suspense might find the game a bit bland, but this game is pretty decent if you like detective stories. For me this game is pretty good. I keep on playing and get lost in time. I definitely will have this game for my next FFS collection.

I can't believe this coming from the developer which did the other games in the series because this one doesn't par at all with the others.. To me the story is weird, there seem to be no connection of the main characters with the others, they seem to just giving requests and order, tasks and chores to do. I hate it that the dev needs to show animals in cages, what's with that? there are puzzles after puzzles, and they are pretty boring. Sorry to say I hate puzzles, I hate them even more if I am faced with puzzles for every 2 minutes. Anyway this game is definitely a pass for me. Now I understand why the so many low ratings from other reviewers of the game. Try the demo first and see if you could stand pass it before buying.

I was quite late in playing this game, 3 months after Christmas!but still this game is good to be played anytime during the year. Love the story, characters and animation. Crystal clear graphics, beautiful classical music.. everything about this game speaks magic.
I dont usually check extras but I think the main game is good enough in itself. I did enjoy the first two games in the series and this one is also a definite buy!

I am not a big fan of fantasy adventure game but this game is well done. I am not a big fan of puzzles either, but some puzzles of this game is not skippable, making me have to solve it myself but I get to know the story better. Nice graphic, voice overs, background music. Nothing in this game that is lacking in my opinion.
So well done, developer, for making an interesting engaging game that we can truly enjoy.

I don't think I ever heard of this dev. before but I still decided to give it a try. The title sounds promising but we were just thrown into the game without any background story.. I was like "what?" why am I even here?
The graphics are pretty good but I got a bit of headache by the scenes zooming in and out every single time. The characters voice are also not bad but I feel disturbed seeing them breathing. It is rather scary, they look like balloons. The scenes moving from bright to dark to bright again is confusing and unnecessary. The collectibles of bunnies and cats, I really have no idea why and what for. Totally childish in my opinion.
And the extras are just.. almost none. If you are planning to buy the CE, I hope you won't because I don't think it's worth your money. Even I am not interested to buy the SE. Sorry, definitely not for me.

Previous Haunted Hotel games are not so scary but this one is pretty spooky, maybe because of the settings and the video. Although the background story is weak, it still is engaging to me.
There are 4 levels of difficulties and these days Elephant Games give the custom level too which is pretty useful. There is also alternative ending in the extras although sadly I haven't got the chance to try it.
HO games are very easy type. There are not many items on the screen so even random clicking will help you find them, which is not so challenging. The puzzles on the other hand is pretty difficult.
If you like gloomy and dark detective game, you might want to give this game a try.

I always like Eipix games so this one is no exception. The setting of a sea coastal village is pretty good. The graphic and background music as always are good and clear. The HOGs are quite a lot and take some time for me to solve. Puzzles are pretty difficult.
The extras are abundant, Four levels of difficulties, as always, I chose the custom difficulty. I love the previous one, Mutiny of the Heart so this one, too. If you like sea pirates story, dont miss out this one!
For years, Barton Mansion sat abandoned, a haunting reminder of an obsession gone wrong. But something sinister still lurked there...and it's stirring.

Some games in the series are good and some not so I was doubtful when I played this game but the more I played this game the more I am delighted to say that this one is one of their best. Especially love Rocky the dog. He is just beyond cuteness. Even if we don't use his help, he's such a pleasure to look at sitting in the menu bar. Probably the cutest game helper ever.
The HOG and puzzles are not so difficult which are great for me. A plus, the custom difficulty let me choose skipping hint and puzzles for only 1 second! this is awesome.
The story is actually not so strong, police and detective investigating an haunted house is actually not a new story but I just enjoy playing it because of Rocky.
Saw the developer's diary and their office seems to be nice, although looks small.. the staff photos and Rocky are nice too.
Glad to say this is one of their best game. Hopefully in their upcoming games Rocky will always be there too.
