First of all, I have never played the game as a detective being help by a barbie doll. Everything in this game seems to be too girly: dress up the doll, let her do some work for us, then keep the costume in the gallery. The story seems to go in constant work: drawing, finding clothes for the doll, then another drawing, etc.. I dont even know what is the purpose, what is a muse? fairy? or a ghost? I dont even care much. . The map is useful but the hint just dont show you straight answer. Graphic is great and clear, probably the only attraction for me.
This is probably the fastest game I have ever played in demo. Only 26 minutes. I finished the demo, but it just left me unimpressed. Take out the doll from the game, and it will be much better.

It is quite uncommon for games sets in winter and released in summer but maybe there's special reason.. I feel cool playing this game :)
But I think it's the only factor I like with this game. As usual in many Eipix games, we are detective investigating the case of a star. It is nothing new, unfortunately. I have difficulty using the map to go around. There's quite a lot of backtracking in this game, and since the map is not as responsive as other Eipix games, it is getting on my nerves sometimes.
Although Eipix introduces many new styles of HOPAs, it's getting old now, and unfortunately this game also has the same style of HOPAs, it's getting boring.
I hope Eipix could bring more to the table and make future games more challenging.

I enjoy the first one but I dont think I enjoy this one as much as the previous game.. maybe I have grown pretty tired of finding stuff and moving scenes too much, and this game has them. The HOPs take very long time, although they are not really your average finding items on the list, I become bored at times. Still, this game has all the goodness: crisp graphic, nice voice overs, background music, unique story, which makes this game pretty enjoyable, if you can get past the moving scenes thing.
I had to stop playing this game demo because some of the objects are just too small (especially the collectible items) and it strains my eyes.
I would love to purchase the SE when it comes out.

I am not big fan of adventurous games of portals and time machine, this game is pretty much got me hooked. The gameplay is not difficult and easy to navigate with the map. Inventories are soon used within a chapter. The HOPs and mini games are the usual Eipix and they are neither too difficult or too easy.
The setting in snowy mountain really quite soothing since it is almost summer now. Nice graphic and voice overs as usual.
Although I dont play previous Amaranthine Voyage thus I dont really know much about its background, I suppose even first timers like me can really enjoy this game :)

After watching the opening scene, I am unsure whether this will be a good game. It's kind of like Beauty and the Beast with evil witch who looks like Snow White's evil stepmother. Your father sent you to dangerous place to get the Rose of Life, I mean really? will your father put your life at risk to save himself? it's very funny to me.
The HOPs and puzzles are repetitive, the HOPs slightly better than the puzzles. The puzzles are mostly like it is: puzzles, moving pictures and the like.
I hate the showing of cruelty to animals, no matter whether that animals were originally humans. The scenes going back and forth between main characters and additional characters seem to make on purpose to make the game longer. From evil castle surrounded with thorns (remember Sleeping Beauty?) to a circus in town, I think this game's settings messed up.

Love all Eipix games including this one. You play as a detective trying to retrieve the Liberty Stone while also trying to find out the feud between the two families who try to claim it. After playing some dark games, this game is definitively a change of atmosphere. Love the setting of tropical hotel and a bit of mafia-like criminals.
The HOPs and puzzles are the usual Eipix style, combination of puzzles, finding items and the like. Hint and map is helpful. Voice overs and graphic are great.
I think there's nothing much to explain here except try it yourself :)

Elephant Games is one of my favorite developers and this time they come back with another Surface game. I admit the last few Surface games haven't been so great. I was quite disappointed but this time I think they are trying harder to deliver better games. The storyline is not the most original, again, another orphanage theme. But I like how the game goes smoothly and fast with no unnecessary actions. There are lots of cutscenes so if you don't like them, you might not like this game.. I found them bearable.. the atmosphere is dark and gloomy, the setting I like, making the game creepy.
The map and hint are useful, map is not really needed as the hint will transport you to places you need to go. Graphic is fine, no longer super crisp like the ones they had previously, probably that's why makin the game less heavy to play. They no longer use live actors, which is a shame, the characters look cartonnish..
I think I will purchase this game but I will wait until the SE come out :)

Seeing the review to this game is quite good, I decided to give this game a try. At the beginning it's like any other game by other developers, it's dark and gloomy, game setting that I like.
I dont mind the graphic that much, there is no voice overs (but funnily there is one for the leprechaun who speaks gibberish (it sounded to me like Spanish mixed with Russian..) and it's annoying not knowing what he meant (and he speaks ALOT). The game story involves a magic mirror, a devil and your kidnapped daughter, not the most original but I dont mind as long as it is fun. But the fun was intercepted by typos here and there. English must not be the developer's first language, and me too, but at least get someone to proofread before selling it. It's annoying to see those wrong spellings. Plus the hint is so stingy. Even just for asking where to go next, it costs you one hint. And the hint charges so slowly. The skip button is ok, quite the average length, but the hint does not work for me.
I played the demo for 30 minutes but couldnt continue further because of the slowness. I appreciate the developer's effort in making this game, hopefully they can do better next time.
Eipix always delivers and this one, too. Honestly I don't really enjoy the previous games in this series but this one is definitely better to me, as we are finally become a detective.
As always, nice graphics, voice overs, puzzles (not too hard, not too easy) and lots of suspense. The atmosphere is rather dark, but not creepy. It's more thrilling.
Extras are abundant but I don't have time to browse all of them. I finished the demo in around 57 minutes, pretty long for a demo.
If you are a fan of detective games, make sure you play this one, too.
As always, MadHouse Games never disappoint. Very nice graphics, gameplay and story, I truly enjoy this game. The story is probably not one of the most original still I enjoy it thanks to the supporting elements (sound, graphic) to add more coolness to the game.
The only thing I feel lacking in this game is the lack of emotion from the other characters. I mean, you are the only one who is going to rescue your parents, but other people dont seem to care even though you are going alone. I mean, you are going to a ghost ship kind of thingie and people just say "good luck"? it's kind of making no sense to me. It may be the very last time we saw those people so a little emotion, please?
As always, good extras but since I am playing the demo I couldnt check them all. Anyway I enjoy this game and while this week there's a sale, I might make use of it and buy this game :)
