This is a cute Holiday themed M3. It comes in 3 levels of difficulty (Relaxed, Timed & Limited Moves) and I played on relaxed mode. I loved the narrated story at the beginning; awesome voice over. You collect gold points to decorate "Santa's Living Room". I found the decorations small and expensive. It would be cool if a M3 game just gave you enough currency every level to get interesting decorations that are animated like the game Cradle of Egypt did so perfectly. Several levels into this game a "black hole" is presented on the top of the play-board that dumps snow over the tiles. You need to match near them or they spread over all the surrounding tiles (not my favorite.)
I loved how this game had a separate sound for the double layered tiles.
Thank you to the reviewer that had this game as his "favorite game" link. I find such great games that way. I also liked these other holiday themed M3's you may also want to try. 1. Queen's Garden Christmas 2. Jewel Match Snowscapes 3. Fishdom Frosty Splash (even gives you a screensaver!)
I think my end rating on this is about 3.5*. It does have some great features but other things I didn't like as much.
WHAT I LIKED: ~ I liked that it had a reason to match for. You decorate a house for Christmas with points you gain by completing the M3 levels. ~They give you enough in game currency/points to purchase Christmas decorations every level (at least in the demo.) It is so rare to have that feature in an M3 and it's so appreciated. ~ They even give you enough currency to buy power ups in between the levels to help you clear the M3 boards. ~ I liked the sound effects
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: ~ I really disliked the cartoonish graphics and the way the characters were drawn. I just prefer more of a CG vibe. ~ I wasn't a huge fan of the decorations we got to improve the house with and I wasn't all that big on the house itself either. I wasn’t thrilled with the new items I was placing in the yard. ~by level 14 this game starts getting really hard to the point the game board kept telling me I had "no more moves" & it would re-shuffle. ~ I really didn't like the "morphing snow" tiles. In other games I’ve seen growing vines and spider webs and just hate tiles that morph with every move that way. I find them stressful and realized by level 14 I wasn't having fun anymore. That's just a personal thing, I'm sure there are M3 players that are just way better at this and like the additional challenge.
Discover this cheerful Christmas-themed match-3 puzzler and escape into a winter wonderland while you decorate a beautiful Victorian home for the holidays!
When you first enter this game just use the forward arrow on your keyboard to get to the painting in front of you to play level 1. Don't "walk around the house" because the other paintings all tell you that level isn't ready to play yet.
It is snowing huge snowflakes OVER the entire play board so it is extremely distracting. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone with seizure problems because there are several things moving at once and you can't shut off the snow in settings.
Fast matching is impossible because the tiles were sluggish. After a few levels I realized it was a limited moves type of M3 so I was playing it wrong from the first screen. I've been playing M3s for years but I was awful at this one.
You need to match several of one kind of tile. There are candy canes, stars, green stockings, snowmen, blue star mittens, & Santa hats. So the purpose each level is to find & match 30 stars then the next level find 40 blue mittens, etc.
It has some fun explosive tiles such as a glowing Christmas light, a glowing snowflake (match 5), and a glowing Santa that makes a fun jingle noise when it explodes.
As I went into level 5 it told me I failed the level because I didn't do it in 54 moves. I got 0 stars and it forced me to replay the level. I replayed the level and failed again. Restarted the same level a 3rd time it told me I failed and this time it punished me by freezing my computer. LOL (mind you I wasn't laughing at the time.) I had no more patience for this game and gave up. I just didn’t think it was fun. Sorry for the bad review.
BASED ON COMPLETED DEMO & PURCHASE (& completing the demos to FA #1, 2, 3 & 4 as well as reading every review to each of those games.)
WHAT I LIKED: -The graphics in this game are perfect. Each hidden object scene is done with care. The colors & contrast in scenes are a cut above. -My favorite part is any scene that has animation; especially if you can see movement outside but the rest of the scene is otherwise static. I noticed FA #1 Treasures of Treffenburg had way more of these so I liked that game most. -The zoom zones were really great but for the most part there was usually only one item to search for in them. I wish there was more interaction with those zoom zone windows, maybe even secondary tasks. - The storyline and characters were great but not the delivery of the story; way too much clicking through text. -The mini-games are easy but fun. I loved them.
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE AS MUCH: -In a Multiple HOS type of game, there should only be one of the listed items in the scene that you are searching in. For instance a scene in Chapter 2 has the word "butterfly" to find yet there are 3 others in the scene that aren't the right one. - Even though it can be skipped, there is still way too much dialog to read that requires clicking through. I left "storyline rating" blank because I skipped all of it. - The same songs and sound effects are both played **way** too much. I believe this series would benefit from environmental sounds as well. It would be nice if you don't like the song in the scene you could turn down the music in the menu options... but still hear environmental sounds instead (the way it is now, you can't hear anything.)
I found this funny: The item you are searching for is "cookie". Can you see it there? It's in the middle of the city square. It's in *the middle of the road* and it is 5x larger than the helicopter in the same scene and the automobile it's sitting beside. Now we all know in 2021 there would be like 50 You Tubers around that cookie documenting that phenomenon. ;)
Here is the series list so far (based on 5* rating scale)
1. Faircroft's Antiques: Treasures of Treffenburg CE out 11-14-20 rated 3* 2. Faircroft's Antiques: Home for Christmas CE out 1-23-21 rated 3.2* 3. Faircroft's Antiques: The Heir of Glen Kinnoch CE out 3-18-21 rated 3* 4. Faircroft's Antiques: The Forbidden Crypt CE out 11-20-21 rated 2.6*
This is a good game that could have been great. I've noticed as each new game is released it has the exact same problematic features that were pointed out from the last one. I'm assuming the DEV just hasn't read our reviews... which is such a shame.
It looks like everything we have been asking for in a jigsaw puzzle game has been given to us with this gorgeous holiday themed game. I haven't tried the games that came before this so it looks like I'm in for another treat.
There is every kind of adjustment you can think of both in terms of the play itself as well as customizing the pieces, the playboard, the desktop colors and you can change any feature in options at any time.
- YOU CAN UPLOAD YOUR OWN PICTURES to play.
-The holiday images are gorgeous and so thought out. Some are beautiful, some are cute and I loved every single image. - The music is good - You even get points each puzzle to use on an Advent Calendar upgrade. You get the first surprise after 60 min. -When your picture is complete you can save it to your computer to use as desktop wallpapers.
-This game is an instant buy for me. This is honestly the best computer jigsaw game I have ever played.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!
Thank you to all of you that worked on this gorgeous game and happy holidays!
BASED ON COMPLETED DEMO ONLY (to level 19 in 1 hr.)
This is your typical match 3 that gets progressively harder the more levels you play. Matching 4 items creates a clear crystal that will match with anything for 200 points. Match 5 squares, creates a bomb. There are double layer tiles to remove and snow & wind tiles to match beside.
BUILDING AREA: It has a really cool panoramic area (horizontally scroll 3 screens) where you can place new buildings you buy with your game points. Later, the buildings get upgraded with your points but I couldn’t tell what the upgrades were. When I upgraded the cookie factory and "made cookies" it didn't really do much. I wish it had been a little busier with moving people/elves/animals or something (the way Queens Garden series does.) Hopefully after the demo you do actually get to upgrade with moving items but they weren’t in the demo. If it had I would have rated this game higher from a 4* to a 5*.
DIAMONDS: when you use your points to buy a new building in your building screen you earn diamond points that can be used to replenish 3 different powerups (see below.) Complete new levels or replay previous ones to get more diamonds.
POWER UPS: (located on the right of the play board) 1. Red mighty bombs- take out 9 tiles at once 2. rockets- which remove entire line/row 3. Magic wand- removes all of one type of tile
At the beginning it points out a "gold star" slider that appears under the level's play board. It can be removed in options and makes the game harder (though I never figured out how.) What I did notice is by level 17 it was way harder to get 3 gold stars every time or enough gold stars to buy new items for your Winter Wonderland. I left the star bar "on" below the game board.
The task buttons weren't all that clear as to what they did. They are: ...--- bulleted icon in lower left is to the "building items" you can purchase. > Arrow lower right = next level Progress: lower right- Shows how many stars you've earned a level.
I liked the colorful tile selection and they changed up the tiles enough (at least in the demo.) The music was festive but I turned it way down. All in all I really liked this Christmas M3. This one is a buy for me!
I finished chapters 1-5 (of this 6 chapter game at a different site.)
This one starts out good, but then at the start of chapter 6....
I removed the game from my computer because one of the characters gets his paw stuck in a metal animal trap. We do help him but I don't think it has a place in a casual game that kids may be playing.
This game just didn't feel as "holiday themed" as most. For the most part, to me, it felt more like a "snowy fantasy" game.
I purchased the CE (which I suggest) but here are some details of the CE if you are on the fence as to which version to get.
The SE portion took me 3:25 hrs. CE bonus play took me 1:10 hrs. CE Secret room- 12min Total Gameplay- 4:47 hrs.
The other reviews have already perfectly covered this game but I'll just add a couple of other details. I buy the almost always purchase the CEs from Elephant because of the great game play and the awesome screensavers they give in the bonus content.
36 puzzle pcs are collected to create 3 great screensavers. These alone were worth the CE purchase for me.
This is what each screensaver does:
1. A blue cast night scene overlooking the town from above & it's snowing. 2. 3 "children" mice (dressed in foot pajamas) stand with their Momma. There are colorful spools of thread all around this mouse family. 3. At night, a beautiful blond woman (dressed for winter) is looking up into a night sky that has the green cast of aurora borealis. It is snowing over the scene and snowy mountains are in the background.
The CE version has a 47 page in game strategy guide. To give you an idea how long bonus play is, the demo portion was 12 pages (chapters 1 & 2) and bonus play is also 12 pages. So the demo is the same length as the bonus play.
In CE bonus play, you play as a young boy named Oliver and a little angel kitty visits you as you are trying to sleep and tells you she needs your help so Cinderella Kitty can go to the ball. I loved the bonus play. I counted 8 scenes. Of these 5 scenes are ones we’ve seen from the main game and the final 3 scenes are all new.
You have a helper in bonus play. Goody elf is replaced with a 3rd helper in this game Grey Fairy Godmother cat. She has a PERFECT voice over with a cool English accent.
Sound Effects: I actually liked all the game effects in this game. None of them were annoying, not even the "nope wrong move" sound.
Cutscenes & Animation: are so remarkable in this game I can't even describe how perfect it all was. A similar game that Elephant made that has special little effects and outstanding animation is called Royal Detective: Queen of Shadows. The game was released May 1, 2014. I'll add a link so you don't miss out on that gorgeous game either.
Thank you Elephant Games! The replay value on this is everlasting. Beautiful job.

For anyone unfamiliar with this series, this is a multiple HOP game, not a HOPA; no adventure- only HOS & MG. To the "Mostly Multiple HOP" genre, this is how it's done!
This game took me 4hrs 49min (over 4 days)
One of my favorite things is the crystal clear graphics (stretching into a large monitor.) I love the moving details within the scenes. Every time I was away from this game I couldn't wait to get back to it.
The goal is to complete each HOS with 3 stars which you get points for. Each HOS has about 16 to 18 items. Saying these scenes are detailed is putting it mildly.
There are 24 HOS with fun mini games every few scenes. Avant calendar: A scene with 25 slots- find the number and get a gift. Shopping cart: In the upper middle section you get to buy gifts with your HOS points. Beside the shopping cart you can view your gift purchases which go on a viewing shelf. Each scene has 3-4 GOLD ANGELS to find (cabinet door closes when you find them all.) Each scene has 3-4 silhouette items to find (Santa appears in snow globe when you have them all.) Bottom Left Silhoette spot- Click this to see a book of “missing items” you’ve found in the game. Most HOP are lists, some with two steps and each scene had a zoom zone area.
Scroll that mouse all around because some items are double hidden and pop out when clicked on (LOVED these.) In between every few HOS are various MG. They are super easy types of puzzles like Jigsaw, slide puzzles, match the maps, spot the difference... (I completed all of these... which took time) I am not normally a MG fan but liked every type in this game.
My favorite HOS in the game is towards the end where you find an item that is already in the scene and move it to a blanked out coloring book style outline.
Every little detail in this game works and I adored every single second of it.
Casual Arts, well done! Please make these games for the other Holidays again! This is the type of game that has replay value for unlimited time. Thank you to all of you that made this perfect game.
