I love runefall games, but this one, well it didn't work well. I finally got to a level which wasn't doable and the game doesn't let you skip a bad level #12, so I just had to quit the game. As far as I could tell, I could make no further progress on the game.
Sad what a waste of money and time. Love Playcademy games, but this one, until its fixed was a real bummer.
I play on "relaxed time" so this review reflects that. Very enjoyable once I got/get passed all the glitches....took about 5 times to get started because it would just freeze after building the first "house". I would have to open the "task" to restart the game...finally it let me proceed, but I was ready to delete it.
During the game, it would have little glitches, but played fairly smooth after that. On the plus side, it was fun, challenging and full of things to do.
I really enjoyed the creativity of this game with regards to the mini games, etc, but I now realize why I had stopped playing this game before.
Despite its positive parts, this game is totally ruined as the scene changes are VERY slow to the point you just cringe when the "magazine" comes up and you have to sit and wait for the next scene to appear. This gets VERY tedious and distracting and I eventually lose my patience with the waiting game.
Could it be a slow internet or computer? I've played hundreds of these games and never found one with such a delay between scenes. Not fun. Too bad this game has this flaw because it is a really entertaining game so I'm saying "Yes", if you want to give it a try.
Maybe I had forgotten that this series does not allow you to still win "stars" even if your time runs out, but I find that annoying. Most time management games have settings which allow you to play without a timer, with a timer but doesn't shut the game down and the expert level which times out and makes you start the level over. Well, this ones doesn't except on the untimed level. Also, unless you check the multi-click level, you have to wait for the character to get back to his house before you move on.
That factor along with the terribly slow level change makes this game totally not fun to play, at least for me.
I prefer to play with the option of "stars" but if you time out you can still continue to play the level and move on. I have several of this series and I don't remember them being like this.
Make sure you turn off the voices or that will drive you nuts too.
I didn't last long in this game. No way to turn off a VERY annoying tutorial that pops up constantly totally stopping the game until you do what it says.
Worse yet was the really annoying sound every time you made a match or the "flowers" moved around on the game board. Blurry graphics...way to "cutsey" for me and I play a lot of match 3. Can't understand the positive ratings...glad I didn't just "buy" this (sale or no sale) without trying to play first just based on the ratings.
I guess you can demo and decide for yourself, but not for me.
I have all the Laruaville games so I didn't think twice about buying without demo, however the series is obviously beginning to "wear out".
Way too easy to the point it got boring. Game board would almost clear itself without hardly making a move. The bonus games were some kind of a competition between the player and the computer which were slow and boring....only played a few. The "on board" mini games got old fast but you could skip those if you chose.
If you never played a Laruaville game, you may enjoy playing this or if you just want a game to match without a lot of strategy.
I won't be purchasing anymore of this series, I've enjoyed it and all the other games from this developer, but sometimes its just time to throw in the hat.
Step into the shoes of a Private investigator with short-term memory loss and uncover the shocking truth about his involvement with a serial killer called The Executioner.
Didn't last long in this one and don't understand the great reviews. I found the graphics way too dark, movement around the game was awkward and slow.
WAY TOO MUCH DIALOG...good grief. Not a smooth running game and the voice over was stilted. Not for me, but obviously other gamers really like it. Play the demo first I recommend.
Not sure why the low reviews. I have the whole series of Edgar Allan Poe's and I'll admit some were a bummer, but this one was actually a bit challenging in places, and ran smoothly. Transporter map was really good, but the game scenery was a bit dark and hard to see sometimes.
HOG's were challenging, I actually had to use the hint now and then. I never play the puzzles or mini games which is why I set the timers as low as I can, but from what I could tell without playing them they looked to be challenging.
Storyline was OK....pretty much the same plot as a lot of other hidden object games, but that is not what I play the games for. Basically I enjoyed playing it. I never do Collector series because I find them a waste of money for what you get. This game ended well and was a good length. Long enough to get the game done without dragging it out.

Not sure why this got so many great reviews. No timer options...apparently no power-ups, totally have no clue what the "energy ball" does even when its full. There is a "tools" tab, but none of the tools light up to use. I even signed in as a different user with the tutorial on and it was useless.
Basically you just keep making match 3's until you can collect what is needed to collect...which without power-ups is tedious and boring. After level 2-4, I just left...what a waste of money. And what is with that useless spider? Seems the developers just didn't quite know what to do in designing this game.
It actually could have been a great game if there was power-ups which worked and the option for time or relax play. It is a building game, but you purchased new buildings with "stars" you somehow collect...how? Don't have a clue. No help screen, no nothing. Such a disappointment.
