I guess I'm in the minority on reviews, but I could not even get past the first 4 levels without nodding off. Childish looking and slow. I'm used to match 3 moving along a bit faster. Certainly not a full price buy and not sure I would use a credit either. Not a real challenge at all.
First, unless you are some kind of a magic, super expert player don't play with the timer....I play these time management games a lot and thought I was pretty good at them, but this one...no way. Even playing without the timer, I got 3 stars for the first 3 levels and the rest of the 37 left I was lucky to ever get more than 1 and most of the time nothing. Fun to play but if you are trying for stars, you will be frustrated.
The only tech problem I had was with level 40 (the last one). First time the little guys were unable to pick up items and I thought the game, since it was the last level, had some hidden secret to make it work. I finally quit and went to the internet to find an answer...however what I found was that this level DID work, but apparently the one I was playing wasn't. So I went out completely and returned and the level worked fine.
I had not played the first Kingdom Chronicles so I intend to purchase. Game is a strategist nightmare, but fun and keeps your mouse active! Just don't let it frustrate you.
I have all the Laruaville series and just love them so I never demo them, I just download when a new one comes out. However, this one was a disappointment. I remember them being much more of a challenge.
I was able to go through the whole game beating the board in 1-2 minutes and sometimes even less than 1 minute. Way too many puzzles and solitaire games unlike before. I finally stopped playing them just to move the game on. Frankly, I got a bit bored playing it this time. Sad...maybe its time for this series to end.
This would have been a 1 star if I used the word "hate" in my vocabulary. I actually thought since this was a "new" game that it would be somewhat "adult".
First, you cannot eliminate the tutorial which treats you like a child, second, BIG, COLORFUL items on the playing board. I actually felt like I was in pre-school, third, the "building" section of the game has this really annoying robot running around. I love match 3 games, and there are some amazing, well developed ones out there, but they are few and far between and this isn't one of them. Why is it so hard to find good match 3 games?
Good grief, who still designs games without an option to play without a timer? Besides that, which definitely made it a "no buy" for me, I found the game to be a bit old school. A lot of dialog and didn't offer anything more than basic match 3.
I don't understand the high reviews. I was bored after the first few levels, especially since it basically makes you play the same level over and over until you can beat the timer. Not for me.
I love these Dracula time management games even though they prove to be quite a challenge. You have the choice for 3 different levels to play...I chose "Casual" because you can still go for the stars but it doesn't make you start over.
This game takes a lot of strategy and except for the few beginning levels, it is quite a challenge, at least for me to get more than 1 or 2 starts and A LOT a zero stars, but it is still a kick in the pants to play...unless you're obsessed with a 3 star fix. Love the characters and their comments.
Only one thing I really dislike and that is these have a lot of dialog which is annoying to even click to skip and the really bad ones are the ones which pop up on the game board occasionally which you can't skip over at all. That is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. Otherwise, these are great games to play and I wait eagerly for a new one to pop up!
Wow, I purchased this without demo first. I only have myself to blame for one of the most tedious games I've come across in a long time.
Game consisted only (at least as far as I got) of basically "pair matching" over and over again, but in different circumstances. Awkward and boring. Some help, but very little. What a mistake this was. Just can't understand all the good reviews. I won't fall for that again!
The only thing "bad" about the Jewel Match series is the games comes to an end. This match 3, like all the rest of the series is what a match 3 should be.
Level of play for anyone...relaxed, or choose challenging. Lots of extra side games, outstanding clear, crisp, gorgeous graphics and animations. I usually turn off music as soon as I can, but the music with this is so soothing and relaxing you find yourself just drifting away.
Cannot say enough about how entertaining and long this game is and all the ones in the Jewell Match series. I don't even demo them, as soon as I see a new one come out, I buy without hesitation.
An interesting, smooth flowing game. Scenes could be a little dark (color wise) but I found the game quite enjoyable. Options allow you to customize your own game which is always a plus.
Not a puzzle player I actually found most of the puzzles/mini games to be easy and was able to immediately skip those I didn't want to spend time with. HOS were creative and clever.
Story line was something I haven't seen before and had a very interesting twist at the end. Transporter map was excellent and the hint was also a transporter.
A fair amount of dialog, some you can skip, some you can't but the cut scenes were actually kind of interesting and did fill out the story.
