This is based on the demo, but I'm saving up for this one until I can afford it. Imagine "The Perils of Pauline" combined with "Monty Python" and you've got the gist. This game is well worth the money, because you'll want to play it again.
This is based on the demo. This game has a great map, helpful hints, perfect mood music, and a storyline from ancient times. The longer I played, the more I wanted to look around the next corner to see what was going to happen. If I can afford it, I'll buy the collector's edition. Otherwise, I will get the standard.
I like games that are good enough to play over and over. This one fits the bill. It's got a great storyline, and the puzzles are varied and challenging. I rated the graphics lower because of the grimy junk piles and HOS scenes.
This review is based on the demo. While I normally play the darker adventure games, once in a while I'll try a lighter one. This game kept me chuckling, and occasionally laughing out loud for the entire hour. The puzzles, HOS, etc. were challenging enough to keep me happy. The graphics are bright outdoors, and clear inside. And the best part-- NO dirty, grimy, mildewy HOS scenes. I agree with other members who have said they're getting tired of all the grime.
This game became so irritating, I just had to quit. The visual quality was lacking, and the game did not flow well. I prefer adventure games, with a good plot, and different kinds of puzzles to solve.
The first time I played this game, I sat on the edge of my seat the whole time. There is a good story line, and the adventure part of the game is very well done, and often exciting. The characters are also well done with good acting. The artwork, combined at times with actual photos or videos of landscapes really sets this game apart. I didn't need a walk-through because the combo of the map and excellent hints carried me through to the end. The map is important, and helps you know what needs to be done next. Sometimes, there are several options, and that is when I used the hints.
While the artwork is very good, and the characters are interesting, the game itself is not fun. The puzzles often seem silly or pointless. I'm just glad I got this on sale.
