...with this game.
First, although I'm fine with tough challenges, this game is way too hard. There, I said it. The "number of items / time allocated" ratio changes unexpectedly throughout the game, not following any clear pattern. The worst screen I encountered was about 3/4th in the game, and required me to click on one item EVERY 10 SECONDS on average. I had to go grab a mouse for my laptop, otherwise I'd still be stuck there. Frankly, you'd tell me this was a bug, and I'd believe it.
My second annoyance with the game was that it relied a bit too much on the "Hey detective, I know this isn't your job, but I won't help you unless you first help me fix something / clean out this place." plot device. I don't mind seeing it in HOGs, but in this one it became a running gag.

What else can I say - I thoroughly enjoyed it, as my rating attests.
Gameplay-wise, this game follow the "Return to Ravenhearst" model, which has grown increasingly in popularity since: You travel between locations freely (gaining access to more & more locations as the game progresses), and in those locations you'll find HOG scenes, from which you'll obtain an item upon completion. The items is then used somewhere else, just like in a classic adventure game. Puzzles will also act as a way to (temporarily) restrict your access.

This game is the second in the "Treasure Seekers" series, and although it isn't perfect, it remains a welcome addition to it.
Gameplay-wise, note that the game doesn't use list of objects. You get a picture of the object, but not necessarily from the angle shown in the scene. You progress in the game by finding hot spots, and then "unlocking" those spots by finding the items shown. There is also an "adventure" angle, where you collect some of the items you find, and then use them in a different scene. You can move around freely between a couple screens, but not that many.

Admittedly, I'm a fan of story-heavy games, so this game (which barely has any) started off with a couple strikes against it. However, I must say I grew fond of the whimsy plots and wacky characters.
Ultimately, what makes the game lose my recommendation was that I experienced issues with the game controls, in a couple (crucial) instances.

I had been playing a lot of HOGs with little or no story as of late, and so this game turned out to be a big relief for me. I found the story (where you race around town looking for your lost ring, with the ghost of Nostradamus in tow) highly enjoyable.
Gameplay-wise, this is what I call a "classic HOG", which means you're being railroaded through a series of hidden-object scenes, with the occasional minigames to spice things up a bit.

Since I tend to favor story-heavy games, I expected this one to be fairly boring. There's no story per se, only the simple premise of being in a "hidden object" race around the globe.
But despite that, I found myself having a good time, and played through the game in its entirety. Clearly they did something right. :-)

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much of this game - the simplistic premise (you're on a gaming show where the goal is to find - surprise - objects hidden in cluttered scenes) ensured that there wouldn't much of a storyline. And yet... with many different hi-res scenes, with dozens of different ways to play in them, the game managed to keep me entertained for many, many hours.

I wouldn't consider this game one of the best HOG out there, but what it does, it does well. The scenes are varied and enjoyable, the storyline is quirky & funny, and you even get to pick your own dialog options, something not that common in HOGs (though I'd say said dialog is PG-rated - you have been warned).

Unless you're specifically looking for something not too complicated and/or Christmas-themed and/or kids-oriented, there isn't much to say in favor of this game. It's a very basic HOG in which you're railroaded from one scene to the next, looking for ostensibly the same objects over & over again. The storyline is fairly thin.
I don't recommend this game.

The game is nicely tied-in with the Bob theme, it's colorful and entertaining for young kids, and it's got multiple levels of difficulty. Beware, it might get a bit repetitive, though - adults might get fed up of it before the kids are...
