PLUS = Interesting game if you like history. I was fascinated by the information on Amelia Earhart, particularly the film clips of her where she talked about her travels and her passion for flying.
MINUS = The game seemed to be very short and it is not a game that I am drawn back to replay.
PLUS = After playing Murders in the Rue Morgue, I decided to try this one and LOVED it. The story kept my interest, and surprised me at the end. I enjoyed moving from place to place, and the graphics were wonderfully pleasing to the eye. I got stuck a few times and had to use the walkthrough, but that's ok, it means that the game was not too easy. Also means I will have lots of replay value playing it again and making myself NOT use the walkthrough. Another great game from ERS
PLUS = The music immediately pulled me right into the game, it is so Eerie/Creepy, like the horror films from back in the days. I also liked the scenery and graphics (at first I did not like the green screen effect, but it got better) and I was entranced by the whispers, and the sound of the rain, thunder and wind. I had to use several hints for the HOGs, they are very well-hidden. Took me a little over three hours to finish, and I had to use at least one hint per HOG scene, those were really well-hidden objects. Also had to skip some of the puzzles, I had a very hard time rotating dials.
MINUS = I wish there had been more to do in each room, a little more interactive activity would have been enjoyed. Also wish the game would have gone on a little more instead of summarizing the ending the way it did. But this will be a good game to replay some day when I am in the HOG challenge mood to try to complete each HOG scene without using the hint button.
PLUS = What this game lacks in sophistication it makes up in beautiful graphics. If you like exploring beautiful English manor rooms and gardens, and elegant lady's rooms, you will love the eye candy of this game.
MINUS = The game was not intensely challenging, and the storyline was a bit predictable, but for me this was overcome by the visual beauty of this game. At this moment I am tired of exploring dirty asylums and grungy settings!
PLUS = I loved the graphics and the eerie music. The storyline is different and slightly darker and twisted than other games I have played (and reminded me of an old Stephen King movie). Loved finding the morphing items! There are many HOG scenes. For the most part, it is easy to see the items, but in several scenes there were one or two items I could not find and had to use the Hint button. You are "Helped" in this game by a doll, who has a very unique way of showing you where the Hidden Objects are located. For the game, the SG will help you if you get stuck in an area of the town. Once you finish the game, you unlock the bonus chapter, which is a prequel. The bonus content includes extra concept art, wallpaper, media, storyline, etc. Great game!
MINUS = Wish the game was a little longer (experienced gamers will probably complete game and bonus chapter in less than four hours)
PLUS = Had heard about this game, so picked it up when it was a Daily Deal. At first I didn't think I would care for it because of the cartoon-style graphics. But I started to like the heroine and then became immersed in the game as soon as the hero made his appearance! It is a FUN romance, and I wish there were more games that had a romance storyline like this! As for the game play, the game moved smoothly without any technical problems, and had a variety of locales to visit. The Hidden Object scenes included "find-10-of-these items" type games, but the items were fairly easy to see.
MINUS = The graphics were not as sophisticated as I like, but the only other minus comment is that I am anxiously awaiting Part II - I want the sequel NOW!!!!
PLUS = When I originally bought the Standard version of this game, I did not realize that the morphing objects were only in the CE version. The morphing objects and additional game play really make the CE better than the Standard edition game (in my opinion). This is one of the few games that I would recommend purchasing the CE version instead of the SE because of the additional content and activities. I was immersed in the story from the opening cutscenes. This is one of the few games that also gave me a True Fright! (the first time I found a student, that freaked me out - I won't say more because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who has not played the game!# The game was challenging but playable. I did get stuck a few times and had to use the Strategy Guide to figure out my next move. The snow scenes and the graphics in this game are some of the best I have ever played/seen #and I actually felt cold when it was snowing!)
MINUS = One of the few games that have no Minus components, in my opinion
Plus = I enjoyed this game so much I have replayed it several times, and I usually do not replay games. I liked it so much I have recently upgraded to the CE. Minus = When I bought this game, I did not realize that the morphing objects were only in the CE version. The morphing objects and additional game play really make the CE better than the Standard edition game (in my opinion). This is one of the few games that I would recommend purchasing the CE version instead of the SE because of the additional content and activities.
Plus = This is a different style game, where you have to solve the riddles to advance to the next scene. The best part of the game (for me) was the music, if you like beautiful classical music you will enjoy the soundtrack for this game. Minus = I was not able to finish the game because many of the items in later scenes are hidden in detailed settings. Even with my 21" wide screen monitor I could not see them, so I have never finished the entire game. However, I have gone back under different profiles just to enjoy the musical background.
I don't recommend this game.

Department 42: The Mystery of the Nine
Help Department 42 collect nine mysterious and evil artifacts and protect the world! Stop pure evil and save the day!
Plus = I had heard about this game, so was pleased when it showed up as a Daily Deal. The storyline was interesting, and the game played well without any technical problems. In this game you are hunting for nine supernatural relics (artifacts) in order to save the world. You visit various locales in your quest. The game play was easy for me, and I was able to complete the game without having to resort to using a Strategy Guide or Walkthrough. The visuals and graphics were also clear and crisp on my desktop computer. Minus = Players who do not like occult or supernatural themes (which I love) may be uncomfortable with this game.
