Poorly designed game - should be taken off the market. The graphics are blurry in and out of the HOGs. Some of the background of the HOGs makes it difficult to see - such as finding little or skinny things against a background of ivy. No music or special effects adjustments - just toggle on or off. Two minutes for a hint recharge? Way too much times, especially if it adds minutes to your playing time. No reason why you are at the mansion - journal doesn't say why. No cutscenes explaining why. Puzzles are repetitive. Even as a DD, it's $3 too much.
Beautiful game - much like the Nutcracker from last year. A true fantasy world. Puzzles are easy to moderately challenging; HOS are vivid and only a little cluttered and are far between. More puzzles than HOS. Artistry is lovely to look at; voice overs are pleasant to listen to. Music is Christmasy. What's not to love. Achievements and penguin collection. Find out what made Scrooge who he is and you may not hate him. Can you turn him into the person you know he can be by Christmas? A wonderful addition to your Christmas toys.
I recommend this game!

Supermarket Mania
Help Nikki earn money to upgrade her supermarket`s business and run a successful operation in this Time Management bonanza.
Lots of characters and fun. You are a stockgirl. Keep the stockbins full and allow time to refill your cart to keep the shelves full before customers become impatient. You can anticipate their wants and fill those bins first. Upgrade to make your job easier. Catch miscreants and watch for impatient celebrities. 5 markets with many levels will keep you busy for several hours. First 2 levels are very easy, then it rapidly becomes more complicated so that you have to plan. Experience and fast reactions count here.
PROS: - Funny, well-told story - Great, colorful art design - Lots of mini-games/puzzles (at least one per scene it seemed, sometimes more) - Plenty of HOS which were extremely cluttered (lots of little things in an already crowded environment) but colorful. Hover over the name of an object and you get the silhouette - Some tasks were interesting (such as finding fingerprints as you investigate) - Nice locations for art
CONS: - When playing HOS, you get a list, but then you start getting additional objects - one at a time - Many of the puzzles and mini-games were very simple - Too short
This is a wonderful frag game. The frags are used to solve puzzles. There are two layers to every location - reality and the illusions left by a book thief. Artistry is colorfully hand-drawn and lovely to gaze upon. Discover ways to change how you look at things - ex: fix potions that remove some of the illusions to expose additional frag parts, as portions of objects are in the reality and the illusion.
Exits aren't marked, although you'll get a enlightened area for them. So you'll find yourself exiting into another area you hadn't planned on at the moment until you get used to it. If you get "need to look elsewhere" from the hint, it merely means that you need to change from reality to illusion or vice versa. But by Chapter 2, you will get a pair of goggles that let you see the two levels without the fancy trappings.
Well thought-out game that's a lot of fun to play. Although there are other games that have you switching from one type of scene to another, it is usually by illumination. This game seems to have a unique way of accomplishing that task of changing (although you do change the illumination in the first part of the chapter). I think this game is actually better than the other 2 Magic Encylopedia.
I recommend this game!

Stand O` Food 2
Race to assemble burgers before your customers grow ravenous in this delectable Time Management game.
Different ingredients and upgrades - same thing. Get the ingredients to fill the customers' orders before they lose patience and leave. Does get boring after awhile due to the repetitive nature. So you have to take a long break in between playing. Waiting on the customers can get quite dicey when they start piling up because you got an ingredient in the wrong order or picked up something by accident. By the time you figure out what you did and how to correct it, you've added another 3 customers and will surely lose one or two. Frustrating. But still fun in short bursts.

Stand O'Food
This exhilarating arcade game challenges you to feed a host of hungry patrons before they leave in a huff!
Easy to get the gist of this game. Fill the orders. You can upgrade your equipment to help you be more efficient. But other than different kinds of orders and managing your equipment purchases, it's the same stuff - get your ingredients in the correct order and fill the customer's order before he loses patience. After a couple hours, it becomes a little boring to keep doing the same thing. Very nice bright graphics, easy to look at. Gets dicey when the customers start piling up because you got something wrong and need a couple second to figure it out.
GOOD: - Mystery with a satisfactory ending - Good graphics; nice African details - Told nothing to do when clicking on a room with no actions pending. - Average HOS; objects are generally not too small - Provides your next objectives on screen
NEITHER GOOD NOR BAD: - Lots of adventure - Puzzles are rather easy - Some voice overs are quite good; others not so much
NOT SO GOOD: - This is one of the slowest developing storylines I've seen (I thought the early cutscenes would never end and they weren't told in a very interesting way, which is a shame because the story promises more oomph) - Sometimes difficult to pick up items
If you've played Gourmania 2, you'll be glad to note that there is not much cleaning and repairing in comparison. You will do that mostly as you build your new pet zoo, outside of work. Continue making various food items for your customers by finding the ingredients in a clutter-filled kitchen as you fill their orders for Mediterranean, Mexican or Greek food. Colorful, pleasant looking environments. More fun than the first two in the series.
A combination HOG-time management game. Find ingredients for food orders in a very cluttered environment before the customer loses patience. Earn bonuses; upgrade your appliances. There is a penalty for misclicking. An items are not always clear or may be something with which you aren't familiar. If you hover over an item, eventually you'll get a description of the item. Also note objects may appear differently in the different restaurants.
