I will be buying this game. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews - I didn't have any slowness in scene changes or fuzzy graphics. I have a new computer and sometimes have cursor problems that other people don't have. So you have to try a game to see how it works on your computer before assuming that is just the way the game is. (Ex: I have graphics problems with a game but neilskinut and others did not. Go figure.)
HOS are many - but then it is a HOG so I expect them and am disappointed when they are few and far between. So I don't know why people would play a HOG and then complain about there being a lot of them. I did not find them fuzzy - they were well detailed in the usual pile of stuff (but they weren't that crowded and I could find everything).
The music is a bit eerie - I liked it as well as the graphics which capture the medieval European theme. Puzzles sometimes take a little thinking to figure out, but if you aren't into them or simply get tired of looking for a solution, the skip button charges pretty fast. It shows how the solution was done (whereas many today just show the final result, if that). Gameplay seems very well thought out.
I recommend this game!

Nicely developed mystery of where Marcus has been between the time he left and returned to this seaside village. And who are these mysterious sea creatures who infiltrated the sea village in his absence and how can he help the villagers?
3 modes of play. You can turn your interactive map on (which will show where tasks are to be performed) or off. Very nice graphics; music is relaxing; sounds are realistic; and voice overs are professional sounding. Good production values.
Submersive interactive HOS are list or silhouette based and are very nicely detailed and colorful. The silhouettes especially are progressively interactive, which I really like - i.e., you combine items to get a new object which then has to combined again to get something else. With only silhouettes, it takes a little thinking of whether you are looking for items to combine or looking for an item that is already completed within the HOS.
Didn't like the dark screens while changing locations or looking at close-ups - seems that graphics have come far enough to make the transitions quite smooth.
If you like achievements and collectibles, you might prefer the CE which has, besides the usual stuff: 22 achievements; collecting 44 shells to buy items for your dolphin pool and/or your aquarium; and capturing 19 sea creatures which are in a separate album and 35 turtles.
I recommend this game!

A long-forgotten artifact has just resurfaced, and the race to claim it will cause a devastating war. The only thing strong enough to stop it is one woman’s promise to the man she loves.

There are so many locations and things to do right from the beginning, it's incredible. It seems that each location easily has over 10 tasks. The story has been done before, but has a twist - when attacked, only certain people will be safe. Very well conceived and constructed story. The location graphics are fantastic, and the gameplay is so thought out that it's pretty flawless. Puzzles are widely varied in difficulty and type - and there are a great many of them. HOS are typical. Real actors (the male leads are real hunks) and great voiceovers. Very well executed. A true pleasure to play.
I recommend this game!

Refreshingly different. Superior production values. This game seems to have everything: a very compelling story, custom settings where you choose the speed of hint recharge and skip ability as well as whether to have sparkles or a HOS click penalty. Simply gorgeous graphics, nicely detailed HOS and fabulous gameplay. Great pace. A good variety of puzzles. Can't think of any negatives, except that it can't possibly be long enough. CE vs. SE: CE has 42 morphing objects and an enchanting pet imp (who was a pet dog in a previous life), , a fair number of achievements (including imp-sitting and imp-using to help with your quests).
I recommend this game!

Game has 11 acts (CE’s bonus game has an additional 3 acts). After being shut away for 500 years, the Phoenix Queen has reappeared and must retrieve a relic in the Midnight Forest (the former Elfin Kingdom, which is now filled with plants since the Elfs were defeated) so that her powers are restored. Beautiful environment graphics and HOS, which are fragments. Nice ratio of HOS and puzzles, which were quite interesting. Your objectives are listed and you have a compass which shows you the map of the kingdom and transports you instantly. The CE also has enchanted items and character profiles, which the SE does not. Game is very well conceived and executed, with a lot of attention to detail. Music is somewhat invigorating. Although I like getting enchanted items, I didn’t think that the extras for the CE warranted the extra cost. ` With so many other reviews, there’s really nothing to add.
I recommend this game!

Nice easy game. Relaxing because there is little challenge. No storyline that I could detect. With the scenes in between levels, it would seem that one could have been inserted. There is an endless game after you complete the main game and that is generally more challenging.
I recommend this game!

Help Sara find out what is turning the citizens of a little fishing town into sea creatures after she's attacked (does every delivery man come with weapons and fighting ability?). There's lots to do and places to explore. Quite a few lengthy cutscenes. Voice-overs are very well done and don't sound contrived, although you can turn them off.
Graphics are beautifully detailed and storyline is well conceived. Lots of achievements in the CE, like morphing parrots, hidden octopi, finding seahorses, and various achievements for playing the HOS and meeting game milestones. If you like these, the CE is probably the way to go, since there are so many of them. In addition, there are the normal CE bonus game, soundtrack and cutscenes. You'll also like the puzzles, which are not too difficult. Very good production values.
I recommend this game!

If you like HOS, this is a great game. Black and white; brightly colored; almost all abstract jumbles; fun games. Objects are very well camouflaged. The only improvement I would have liked is to know which box you've opened last. They do not open in any particular order that I could determine so, if you left the game and came back, you just have to pick a box. Since all the boxes are fun, it's not too bad unless you're playing the game for the first time and want to play all the levels before starting over.
I recommend this game!

BEST INVENTORY TRAY; BEST HINT SYSTEM; COMPLETELY SATISFYING

Length: about 5 hours for main game of this polished, flawlessly executed and beautifully detailed productions on casual mode. I was sorry to see it end.
EXTREMELY HELPFUL HINT SYSTEM: the most helpful that I’ve ever encountered. Hint will tell you what inventory item is waiting to be used at what location and, better yet, it tells you where an inventory item can be found (which I seem to have just overlooked more than once).
BEST INVENTORY TRAY: How many times have you needed a crowbar or oil for a location and you saw one of them in the HOS you just played but didn’t get? How many times have you used a screwdriver and a couple screens later need to acquire another one? Well, here you keep inventory items that you will use again! Sometimes 3 or 4 different locations! Stress relief! You also acquire an owl near the beginning that will help you retrieve items that are too high for you to reach – no more searching for or fixing ladders! And you get to keep him in inventory throughout the game.
MAP: In 2D (or maybe it’s 3D) and instant travel. There are 2 types: in the upper left is a schematic of the library. In the center is a 2D of the rest of the game, which is in two parts. Click the arrow at the top and you will be given the blueprints for the additional locations. Locations with tasks pending are marked. Cursing over the exclamation point will tell you what location it is and what cumulative tasks are to be done (cumulative because you may have done some).
MUSIC: several tracks.
VOICE OVERS: reverberate while the characters are still caught in the books.
TASK LIST: checked off as done.
HOS: not too many; put objects where they belong; you’ll get one as a prize.
STORYLINE: change the books’ storyline to a happy ending so 3 missing teens can return to the real world.
FINAL ENDING: as expected. The culprit is alive, so I hope there’s a sequel.
CE: 4 volume controls, concept art, bonus play and wallpapers.
I recommend this game!
