Excellent story line, one of the best in a very long, long, time. Not a new story but well put together. The puzzles and HOS's were really well thought out and just challenging enough for me, although some were really not my thing, like getting past guard mazes so I had to skip a few. I knew what I needed to do most of the game which I really like, so rarely needed the hint button - which was on a 40 second timer. I play at an intermediate level so no sparkles or glints for me. I didn't get all of the collectibles and you don't get to go back afterwards to find them so will have to play the game again - I prefer replaying than getting an easy out. Graphics were spectacular and precise. I felt that tension and suspense throughout the game, was really not sure I'd make it in time, (see what I did there) which is rare in a game. Even if you don't like Sci-fi, give the game a shot, it is one of the best in quite some time. Really worth it's full price. There's only one downfall, I REALLY, REALLY hate all of the popups!!! I'm not a challenge player so don't care whatsoever about trophy's and such. Please can you make those extremely annoying things go AWAY or at least have the option to turn off!?! They ruin the game.

This was an engrossing game. I was interested the whole time and the storyline was good - only reason it got a 4 for it was the kinda lame ending and the not so interesting extra gameplay - at least it was lame to me. I won't give details cause it ruins the game. I thought it was worth the sale price for sure. And it's definitely better than most of the games coming out lately. it's a buy for me.

Sigh*. I don't know how developers manage to create a game that looks and feels nothing like the MCF games but Eipix is nailing it. They brought out 2 MCF games that were actually quite close but they are not nailing the creepy feel and the challenge the original games had. This one is just cashing in on the MCF name. It was terribly boring, I almost didn't bother to finish but I dislike an unfinished game. I will never play it again. Waste of money. If you're looking for an MCF game, walk on by people, walk on by.
I don't recommend this game.

What a ride that was! One of the best games I've played in maybe 5 years. I gave it five stars cause it deserved 5 stars. The music during solving of the puzzles drove me nuts because I couldn't turn it off and that it my ONLY complaint. I would definitely not recommend it for anyone who is a beginner - and when I say beginner I'm talking anyone who has only played the newer games in the past 5 years. Even with a good hint button it was challenging. But ridiculously entertaining. I spent a good 6 hours playing this game and it was glorious! Would have been worth a Collector's Edition price but I used a coupon. The changing of the chapters is a bit confusing but I sorted it out. I can't wait for the next installment - let's hope it lives up to the first one. I don't remember playing any other games by this developer, HitPoint, so they must be new. They've hit the floor running. Well done!

You've outdone yourselves Eipix team!! I am so impressed by the thought and work that went into this game. The storyline is great, many challenging and new puzzles almost every step of the way. Most are quite challenging some were easy for me but I have been playing HOG's for 9 years now, so I like to think I'm a little more savvy. This is the BEST MCF game to come out since Fate's Carnival. There are characteristics of almost every other MCF game in almost every scene. I am certain that if I were to play this in the most difficult mode it would be more challenging than any other MCF game.I won't go into detail cause I hate to spoil the surprise. The graphics were muted to give it that old feel and look but that is pretty standard for Eipix. Worth every penny (if pennies existed in Canada) of the full price. I have been playing for 6 hours and am still on the main game - just had to give a shout out to the dev's and to encourage any gamer to give it a go. You won't be disappointed! I would have chosen it as my current favorite but it didn't come up in the search.

This was a fun game. The graphics were clear but not crisp like most games but for this game it was part of the atmosphere and grungy downtown 'lower east side of every big city' feel was real and necessary for the story. Flow of the story keeps you unsure of the real culprit, some twists and turns and a few side steps but great story! Some really challenging puzzles had to skip a few cause I was frustrated by the challenge. HOPA's were really interesting and not easy or simple. I didn't get all the morphing and collectibles but that's ok, it's a game to be replayed a few times. A great story is what makes a great game! And it had every element that makes for a great playing experience. A bit short but it was purchased on the weekend sale so I'm good with that. that is all.

This was almost as entertaining as the first game but for a few real issues. The fact that I couldn't finish just about every level without having to buy one usually 2 or 3 extra 50 plays. there were no keys for 3 of the chests on some levels. very frustrating especially since all boards were complete. there were only 2 castles to build not including the training castle. kind of a rip off really. The same Dwarf was quite annoying after awhile, saying the sames things over, and over, and over, and over again from the last game. Come on, have some integrity and make a decent game for a new place at least. the level of challenge was over the top and was not well thought out. this was a lazy effort at best.
Easily one of the best games in a very long, long time!! I would have definitely spent the money for this game but was able to buy it with a coupon. Very challenging, great story, SO MUCH FUN and the graphics were excellent although not on par with much of what is coming out these days for graphics - having said that, I think the graphics were appropriate for the storyline and the look. This game reminded me of the older games from 10 years ago - oh I have missed the quality and challenges from back then. Thank you so much for this game Monolith Graphics and The Hideout! Was an absolute pleasure to play it. I didn't know there was a compendium until the end but am glad of it. Next time I play - because this is a repeat play game for sure - I will check that out. Can't gush enough about this great game. Really, REALLY hoping there is a sequel to this - and that's the first time I've ever said that.

Although a wonderfully different and entertaining game, I'm extremely annoyed that it was billed as a CE since there is nothing extra in the extras to give it that status (I never use the wallpapers or the screensavers - simply because they ALWAYS interfere with how well my PC operates). So don't waste your money and wait for the SE version. Fortunately I got it in a 2 for 1 sale so didn't pay the full price. I would have given it 5 stars otherwise since it is an unusual and really fun game, most especially because it's a cartoon version (not really for children although I'm certain older children will love the game). It wasn't easy play and that was a nice challenge and the story was endearing. There were also no collectibles or the usual extras that come with CE's.
Was a pretty good game until the final 'extra' chapter. Spent 15 minutes to complete it. Worst CE I've ever played. Wait for the standard edition cause it isn't worth the full price.
