Apparently there are people who love this type of game but for me it's a total sleeper. It's the typical running around finding boring everyday items to do the exactly the same things in almost all of their games. However, for anyone who likes detective game's that are done in present day it's still a good buy. But, I am waiting for an Eipix beta test game that totally will blow MCF fans away!

I have had a lot of enjoyment playing this game. yes most of the puzzles are easy, but the hidden object scenes are a bit challenging - always that last object is the hardest to find. Always something around the corner, so much going on and the graphics are beautiful. Play on expert if you want to be really challenged. Story isn't new but a great twist. I'm on the edge of my seat watching that lotus flower go blacker and blacker - haven't finished so who knows what will happen - is it the usual happy ending or something darker..... 4friends is one of my favorite developers and they generally deliver a fun game.
Explore kingdom ruins and meet the exiled Salt Princess.

OMG! it is soooooo wonderful that you are back. Finally a true to its craft developer. The cartoon characters are different but who cares. I actually had to play in 'easy' mode because it had been so long since I'd played an original Blue Tea game that I forgot how hard they are. I am absolutely thrilled to be playing this excellent game. Thank you Big Fish for bringing back the old but truly fun games made by Blue Tea. I have posted my skill level down to beginner for this game as it's very much the old school Blue Tea Games and is very challenging on it's own. Sigh....I can die a happy gamer now.
I recommend this game!

A relatively new series in Elefun's repertoire of series games. I really liked this one. Lot's of interesting puzzles and a few story twists and turns. I could feel the anticipation of what would happen next. It was just enough change to keep me interested. And believe me I rarely say anything good about the endless series games being spawned like baby Seahorses, however, not nearly as fascinating. The only annoying thing about this developers product is the constant loading time between scenes and live action videos. Other than that I usually enjoy the games and the stories are often well put together. Just please, please, please stop the constant series. I get that interesting stories are difficult to generate all the time. But I really don't think it's the stories so much as how they are told that makes them enjoyable to play. Even so Elefun is a cut above most developers. I still play their earlier games often, like the first 2 Mayan Prophesies, the early Fear for Sale games, and my fav Witches Legacy (but please no more - they are just pathetic now). Having said that traveling through portholes or switching light to different worlds NEVER gets old. Still, this is a good game all the way through.
The flutist returns to Hamelin, but he’s back for revenge!

I really like Mariaglorum games - and this series is one of my favs. The graphics are stunning! Great cut scenes. And although the storyline is usual it has a new spin. My only complaint is, in almost every scene, our seasoned veteran detective constantly and consistently does not have basic tools? Or they break or they suddenly disappear? Especially when they could be used for several tasks, like the chain cutters for the lock on the window and the staples but I had to find a key for the well in the same scene?! And the torch that suddenly disappears after the melting of the ice right beside the cave, so he/she has to search for another light source?! AND, always having to look for matches or flint. I'm almost certain that anyone who is an adventurer /detective has a back pack prepared with those basic tools. You know a knife, flint/matches/lighter, some rope, and lock picks, to name a few, (instead of having to find 5 or 6 other backpacks needing a special insert to open it (how handy at almost every scene) with the exact tool they need???!!?? I don't know what to say about the shovel that is used for the coal in the fireplace and then splits into 2... It makes the game tedious and boring and I perceive it as lazy and sloppy game fillers by the developers to extend the game because they can't come up with a really great story. I think we need a Steampunk hero - they will definitely have basic tools and gears to boot. I was also hoping that the bonus game would be the detective searching for and finding the remedy to heal the little scarecrow, but that didn't happen. I recommend the game because it's still pretty good for the most part, better than a lot of the games that are coming out.

Well, from beginning to end this was a very different game than the usual Surface games. it was alright I guess, there are a few series that I always enjoy playing and the Surface games were one of my favorites This was so weird....it was a good game but not what I usually anticipate. It has totally thrown me off. I usually don't like live actors in the games but I've come to anticipate them in the Surface series. I liked that it was a good game, but it really felt like something was missing.....
I recommend this game!

This game was really challenging for me. Lots of different and new puzzles. The HOS's were really unlike what I've come to expect. Perhaps it's some new blood, but it didn't feel like an Eipix game - um thanks for that! I would have given five stars but the story line limped out at the end and kept limping to the end of the extra chapter. That's the only time it felt like an Eipix game. The voices were great and not one was familiar. Mostly great graphics...the story books were so bad it made me laugh. Well done Eipix!! I'm hoping this is new blood and new perspectives - it certainly was more fun than most games lately.
What happened to the Wolfgrin family?!

Happily that was not the case. For this gamer to enjoy a story it must be at least somewhat believable. Since just about anything tribal, and especially Mayan culture, which is shrouded in so much mystery that even curses are possible - at least in the story telling. Suspending belief, if only for a moment makes life a little easier and more interesting then I'm all in for a great and terrible story. Truly enjoyed the game and the varied puzzles. Pace was great. Graphics were good and talk overs were okay - a European accent for the tribesman in the bonus game was terrible - couldn't find a real Native or Mexican to voice over this part?!? This game was longer than the usual 3 hours so that is a great plus as long as the puzzles and game play don't become tedious - which was not the case here. Definitely worth the full price.

I think this is, bar none, the worst MCF game yet. The only good part was the beginning cutscene. After about 2/3's of the way through I had to shut down the game it was soooo boring. It's a typical Eipix game. Same ambiance sounds - that grating noise like a metal door slamming is beyond irritating. I should have listened to the other reviews. Wasted good money on this and won't be buying another one made by this developer - they're just cashing in on the devoted MCF gamers. Bring back the team that at least made a true attempt at MCF - Elephant Games - Fate's Carnival is still my fav.
I don't recommend this game.

AWFUL graphics, too much talking, live characters are extremely annoying. Other than maybe 3 puzzles the whole thing was disappointing. If there was a way to post 0 stars that's what this would get. NOTHING about it was MCF. I was really hoping from the beta test that it would be super creepy and intense but nope.....boring omg so boring. Lifeless characters, lifeless scenes. The hype for the last month was more interesting. That's a few hours of my life I will never get back. Plus I paid full price - which even for any game is alot for me. I should have went with my instincts, Eipix makes boring and uninteresting games. This was the first one I've bought in a few months. And I LOVE adventure games. I've said it before but no more Eipix for this customer. All of their games are the same and painfully boring - might just a well have a "made in China" sticker on them. BOOOOO. The best game in the whole 'new series' by other developers remains my fav of all time. Can't we get them again? PLEASE!
