Some reviewers found this game to be "excellent, having the best graphics, with a beautiful storyline that is not too be missed".
HUH!!!
This is just another rehashed story about someone selling their soul to a evil spirit to make something good happen. The person then disappears & later on the evil spirit reappears with fiery monsters to now make the townspeople disappear. You, of course, are the detective called in to help an inept policeman sort things out & restore order to the town.
I found my review to be the polar opposite of the "rave" reviews.
Hideous graphics that were muddy, PINK, amateurish & reminded me of the Sunday comics.
Annoying Muzak.
The usual flat, one dimensional characters with mouth movements that were WAY off. VO were OK though.
There are "flames" to collect with a pop-up that tells you how many there are in a scene. All you have to do too find them is look for the sparkles.
HOS - easy , Puzzles - simple, No Map as Hint button teleports you.
Definitely NOT a winner in my book. But as always everyone has different tastes so give the demo a trial run & decide for yourself.
Good reviews but a little verbose for my tastes. I prefer to look at screen shots, read synopsis & review demo before deciding. My old eyes tend to glaze over with too much reading & all of the info given just becomes muddled in my brain. I prefer figuring things out as I go along.
Liked the game. Graphics were better than some of the games we've been getting lately. Character movements/VO were spot on. Music was very appropriate for setting. Loved the interactive HOS but did not try the MATCH 3 games. I find them silly, pointless & something to amuse children. (Sorry, don't meant to offend anyone who truly loves them).
EIPIX is quite the prolific developer & I find that they make more games not to my taste than ones I really enjoy. Happily this is one I can recommend.
Engaging storyline even though I usually don't like games with sinister, evil things. In this case it's creepy puppets.
Graphics are a definite upgrade despite not being completely realistic.
VO are spot on with mouth/character movement.
Music goes along with the storyline.
HINT/SKIP buttons are quick to recharge.
HOS/Puzzles are interactive & a cut above the mundane, usual fare we have come to expect. You can substitute Mahjong for the HOS but the HOS were so new/different & great that I didn't even bother.
There's the usual journal & map but I never did try the map.
All in all a GREAT game & I whole heartedly agree with the rest of the "over the moon" reviews.
I Beta tested this game & was less than impressed.
They seemed to have worked out some of the bugs but it hasn't helped all that much.
Familiar storyline with restless ghost trying to avenge the loss of his bride on their wedding day.
Graphics aren't too bad, music is soft & non-intrusive. Could have picked better VO actors. Some of the voices did not seem quite right. Characters are flat, one dimensional without movement.
HOS is interactive using silhouettes & pictures. All in all a nice change of pace. Puzzles were ok. I rarely find a puzzle that I enjoy. They all seem to come from the same "let's pick a puzzle box".
I personally did not find this game all that new/exciting or interesting but give the demo a try to see if it fits your bill.
Here we go again. More portals, runes, crystals, evil doers/monsters & people in peril. This story line has gone on forever & NEVER gets any better. It is the same old, same old rehashed nonsense.
Horrible graphics AGAIN. Over colorization which makes the scenes look unnatural & just plain ugly.
On the other hand, the characters are quite realistic looking with good VO & lip-synch.
The music/ambient sounds are ok except for an annoying noise that is made when you click on something that is not correct.
More morphing objects & collectibles that I only find by PDL (pure dumb luck). They don't seem to enhance the story so why bother?
I found the story line tedious & just not engaging or enjoyable.
I don't recommend this game.

Ominous Objects: Family Portrait Collector's Edition
A father returns home to find his children missing - all but one, who refuses to say a word...
Real estate agent Angie Dee must get her first home ready for sale. Explore, solve puzzles and clean cobwebs to unravel the house’s mystery in this amusing adventure.
FINALLY a game that I really like & enjoy playing.
The game story has been thoroughly documented by others so I will only put down a few of my thoughts on the game.
I LOVE detective stories & the Art Deco era.
Graphics are ok but still not as realistic as I would like them.
Characters are one dimensional without movement but the VO are spot on.
Nice HOS/Mini-Game play with lots of interaction. The HOS objects are not so hidden that you need the eyes of a eagle to find anything! A definite plus for me.
Did not use the map as I like using the SG. I like the custom mode so that I can have the hint/skip button refill quickly.
HATE bubble shooter/Match 3 etc. so did not play.
I find it annoying that there is no mention of collectibles/morphing objects until you literally stumble upon one of them. As for this game, I did not know about them until I read some of the reviews mentioning them!!
Keep up the good work Devs/BF. I look forward too more games WITHOUT fantasy themes, fairies/spirits, witches/demons, runes, crystals, netherworlds & most of all filthy, dirty dilapidated houses with bugs running up/down walls.
The expedition continues... Track down the fragments of King Solomon's crown and foil a madman's plot in this exciting follow-up to the bestselling series!
Usual story of bad guys making off with the treasure & you are the detective hot on their trail. You, of course, are foiled and off we go trying to nab them before they do us in.
Graphics: Are still old school looking to me. They sometimes look like they couldn't agree on a color scheme & just used one of each.
Characters: Are finally more realistic looking & the VO seem spot on.
HOS: Interactive & seem to be of a better caliber/more fun.
Mini-Games: Seemed a little simple & not very challenging.
All in all this seems like an engaging game that moves along without becoming tedious. At the end of the demo you are left in quite a precarious predicament & I'm looking forward to seeing how it all works out.
