Based on Demo: What a pleasant surprise, a game I could actually give 4 stars too.
Graphics colorful & crisp without being overwhelming.
Would have liked some lip movement when the characters were speaking. The VO could have been better. The voices did not seem to fit with the characters they were portraying.
I felt the HOG/mini games were a step-up from the usual redundant ones that come with every game.
The story moved along nicely though some of the movements from area to area could have been better thought out.
I especially got a kick out of the cat in the doghouse that growled & showed it's teeth whenever you moused over it. Nice kitty, kitty!!
Once in a while when trying a demo the game freezes up & I have to control/alt/delete & sign in again. This happen 5 times during the trial but I persevered & completed the demo.
Based on Demo: Agree with the negative reviews & don't understand where any of the positive reviews came from.
Poorly drawn graphics that look like they were drawn by a, not very good, 1st yr art student. Definitely NOT up to date but more on the cartoonish side with a flat, one dimension rendition.
Story drags along, ever so s l o w l y, with way too much needless back & forth.
Music is awful & repeats & repeats ad nauseum.
No voice overs & a lot of dialogue. The sparkly journal becomes annoying VERY quickly. Also, BF & devs need to do better quality control when using so much dialogue. The grammar & HO translation is just plain awful.
HO & mini games are the usual variety though the mini games could have used better instructions. . All in all I can't think of one redeeming factor for this game except for the ability to hit the DELETE button!!!
Based on Demo: # 6 of a DREADFUL cartoon series without any realism whatsoever.
Same old rehashed story of kidnapped relatives & you are now in hot pursuit of the evil doers. There is NOTHING new, exciting, fantastic or even remotely challenging about this game.
No lip sync with wooden characters & okay VO.
Usual UGLY muddy, monochromatic graphics. Lots & lots of red, blue & yellow. I find these types of graphics to be very hard on the eyes.
Music usual dreary, no thought behind it, kind.
HOGS were a pleasant surprise in this otherwise MEDIOCRE game. Lots of interaction & silhouettes which I like.
The cartoonish rendition of the dragon was hideous & off putting. The owl was much better, graphically speaking, & looked liked a cuddly stuffed toy.
Hint system was quick/good & teleported you to the appropriate place.
Definitely NOT a 4/5 Star game in my opinion. I know that I am in the minority as everyone has their own tastes. So try the demo & see what side of the star rating you are on.
Just didn't care for the game. I felt it was another rehashed story with cartoonish graphics & wooden characters. The VO for the character needing the swan medallion was a bit much & sounded like she was trying way too hard to say the lines. Music was a little annoying but creepy at times. The HOS/mini-games were of the standard variety. The map was only good for teleporting from one place to another. I only heard the angel giggle once so no problem there. The big problem was there was no way to access the SG from the HOG's, you have too go into the menu which I found cumbersome.
This game was not new/exiting/challenging & did not grab me or make me want to buy it. 2 Stars, only, from me & that's because I only disliked it, not hated it.
Give the demo a whirl & you just might decide differently from me!!
I played the entire game with bonus in the CE version & loved it. Updated murder/kidnapping mystery to solve.
The graphics weren't too bad & the characters had some body & lip sync movement. These things are an upgrade from the cartoonish drawings & wooden people we usually see.
HOGS are silhouettes (which I personally love) & are interactive. MIni games are fun & not terribly tedious/boring as they can be with some games.
Hint system is quick & the map shows you where the next action is needed.
The last couple of BF game offerings have been a real upgrade/cut above the rest. Unfortunately, my euphoria has been dashed. Yesterday/today's offerings have been Match-3/Time Management games which I truly loath & never play!
Your librarian friend wants your help as a journalist – he’s found an ancient book that is still unfinished. Can you save the world in the book before their story ends?
Based on Demo: 2nd verse same as 1st. Another rehashed story premise with an evil demon wanting to take over the world. And this deserves 5 STARS? I think not.
Not wonderful, fun, enchanting or challenging.
Why do the graphics have the same old, same old, cartoonish look without a hint of realism? Then there are the one dimensional characters without movement or lip synch.
Usual music sound track we've heard over & over again.
HOGS are interactive with a few silhouettes. You can opt for puzzles which I find tedious/boring. Jump map/diary available but I did not use either one. There are also colored pots to acquire & they did not seem to hard to find, at least in the demo.
This is just ANOTHER game lacking in originality. Sorry devs your rabbit has not earned their carrots for this one.
Free the frog princes from the clutches of an evil witch! Return them to their princess brides, and find out if the kiss of love can break the witch’s curse!
After I reviewed just 12 minutes of this game I found it fit LovetoMissLisa's criteria of “PORK BELLY” May be a likable game for some, but not for everyone. It’s just mediocre.
Just couldn't find anything to like about it. A definite NO BUY!!!!!!!
