This is a straight-up hidden object game. There are no instructions/tutorial, no puzzles to solve, no options for gameplay, and a timer that counts up (although there doesn't seem to be a penalty for taking your time to find the hidden objects). The 'storyline' is simple in that there are scenes from different locations around Italy, and you have to find the hidden objects. It starts off with lists of items, then after a few locations it changes to silhouettes. You have to earn a certain number of stars in order to move to the next location, so you are able to replay a location multiple times if you don't earn enough stars the first time. I only managed to earn one star at each location, so I don't know how I could earn more. Some of the objects blended in well with the scene, and some were a bit small, but changed when you replayed the location. The facts listed about each location was a nice touch. If you are looking for a relaxing, pure hidden object game, this might be a good choice.
I agree with a previous review about all the ridiculous happenings in the demo. I certainly hope that somewhere in the game that the chinchilla is caught. But for me, the storyline was more depressing than compelling. There have been other games with characters who have regretted doing something nefarious in the past. The characters in the demo of this game experience regret for their actions that are not nefarious, and do not deserve the consequences (such as being murdered or going insane) they receive. I certainly won't regret not buying this game.
According to Henry, "I and Penny" were off on a date? Other than that introduction, there wasn't anything new since the introduction of the secret colors and choosing the appearance of the grid squares. It's not a terrible game, just the same gameplay and very little story. I would recommend it to those who love this series or like this type of puzzle game. I may buy this in a BOGO sale if I need a second game or need to use a coupon.
I am in agreement with pennmom36. The devs have thrown in everything we have seen a million times before in so many games. The storyline is nothing new. HOS were very easy, but the puzzles had confusing instructions. Graphics are good and clear with bright colors. I will pass on this game.

I don't usually play this type of game, but I thought that I would give the beta a try. The tutorial didn't help in explaining the game mechanics. The game also was slow between tasks. I will be passing on this game.
