I played the other games in this series and liked them. The developers should have quit while they were ahead. The actual game play was OK, but short. The HOS are the usual, and the puzzles are mostly easy. The artwork is par for this series, and the music is the same as in the other games and good. The in-game HINT just tells you if some action is available in that scene or not. If not, that's all it says. If so, then it points to where the action is needed.
The story leaves a whole lot to be desired, especially the ending - a big "What?' from me. Really bad!
If you can ignore the dumb story, the game itself is OK. I recommend this game only at a bargain price.
I don't recommend this game.

I liked the previous game in this series, and I was looking forward to playing this one. Playing the demo convinced me to not waste the money, particularly the cost of a CE. The artwork is just OK in my opinion, and the VO are bad - lips move but not in sync with the words. The story, again in my opinion, is overly dramatic, childish and just plain dumb. Game play involves a lot of hopping around; albeit easy to hop, you still have to waste time doing it. I barely could stand making it through the demo. This is not a fun game.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a well designed game with some back and forth, but not an excessive amount. There is a map, but it's not IA. That's OK, because the HINT button works well during game play - you don't need the SG. The HOS are average, and the puzzles are sometimes really simple - a paint-by-numbers one for example. The artwork has a washed-out look that fits well with the atmosphere.
The bad:
#It's annoying how during VO, the character talking springs forward.
#The storyline is interesting. Too bad the telling is so mishandled. There are lots of inconsistencies, strange occurrences and "WHAT?" moments. The main game has an ending, which is good, but the bonus chapter has "the rest of the story". Too bad, because it is completely implausible, and you end up destroying the indestructible.
#Bad use of objects like finding fresh milk in a town that has been abandoned for years. Child swings hanging over empty space.
I recommend this game, but I wish I had waited for the SE. There is not enough offered to justify the CE price.
I recommend this game!

I liked the previous games in this series, but this one is a stinker. The story is very poorly told, and the "acting" is amateurish at best. Who is that masked man? Game play is OK, I guess, but nothing to write home about. The HOS are annoying, adding puzzles at times, IA at times, junk piles at times, etc. The HINT button points you where to go during game play. No map that I saw.
This is not a fun game, and is so poorly "acted" that it's a chore to play. Certainly not a CE price game.
I don't recommend this game.

This is truly a poorly designed game. For example, you arrive in a carriage at a locked gate. There is a locked trunk on the back of the carriage you just arrived in. Where is the key to the trunk? On the other side of the locked gate! How did it get there? Just one example.
The artwork is OK and the VO are fairly good. The HOS are frequent and awful! Many objects are super well hidden and on a background of the same color. The story is a poor takeoff of a classic and poorly told. There are collectibles, but they are just one more object to look for and they add nothing to the game.
What's good about this game? Not a thing that I could find. It certainly isn't worth the CE price.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a well produced game with great artwork. The story is good and is well developed during game play. The HOS and puzzles are the usual, not good, not bad. There is a map, but it isn't IA. You are given a list of tasks, and a journal showing suspects, clues, etc. You can select the HINT button during game play and then select a task. A step-by-step solution with pictures is listed, but you have to figure out where a needed object is located - the picture helps. The HINT button also acts as the SKIP button for puzzles. This is a very enjoyable game.
I recommend this game!

If you like weird stuff that doesn't make any sense at all, then this game is for you. I don't, so I couldn't even stand to finish the demo. The game is well designed it seems, but the HOS are difficult. Others seem to like it, so I suggest trying the demo first for sure.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a well designed game. It's an interesting story that unfolds during game play and actually comes to a conclusion unlike some games. There is a map that allows jumping to different locations. The HINT button works well during game play - it takes you to a location where action is needed without telling you what action is needed. I like that vs. giving details. However, it will point to action needed when you don't have the object needed for action in inventory. This means you missed picking up an object before. The HOS are all IA, which adds to the time needed for completion, but, I think, adds to the enjoyment. The puzzles are a mix of standards, mostly. All in all, I found the game to be very enjoyable, but I did have to consult a walkthrough a couple of times.
I recommend this game!

This is a very well produced game with good artwork, characterizations and VO. Some have complained about its movie-like qualities, but I liked that since it allowed the story to be told well and the story is good. The main character's "acting" is a little over the top, but the rest are good. The HINT button works well during game play, so you don't need an SE or walkthrough. The HOS are good with some IA. There is a map, but it is mostly useless. It is not needed anyway. There isn't a diary, but, again, not needed. There is a lot of running around, so get out your running shoes. All in all, this is a very enjoyable game.
I recommend this game!

This game has good artwork, but does not have VO. The HINT works well during game play, so you don't need an SG or walkthrough. The HOS are pretty average. The story is interesting if confusing at times. The main feature of this game is the number of puzzles. If you like puzzles, this is a good game for you. I got tired of them; solve one puzzle only to get another one to solve.
I recommend this game!
