This is a well-produced game with good artwork and VO. The story is pretty good and well-presented. The HO scenes are cluttered, but most are. There isn't a penalty for random clicking. The puzzles are OK. I would have given this game a higher rating if there were in-game hints. There isn't a map, either, so I was left wandering around a lot. I ended up using the blog walkthrough out of frustration. It's a good game if you don't mind this.
Game production is awful with cartoon characters and no VO. The story is bad and discontinuous. HOS are pretty good, and the ingame hint system works well. I thought gameplay was good with some inovative actions required, not just find a key and open a door. If you can get by the poor production and story, this is an enjoyable game.
The game production is pretty good with good VO and artwork. There are three stories in the main game and one more in the bonus chapter. The first story is sappy but OK, but the others seem like they were just added to make the game longer. Game play is also OK with a good hint system. The HOS are cluttered, but there isn't a penalty for random clicking. A technical problem in the HOS was annoying - the cursor wasn't always what it should be - and, for me, the HINT button was at times unresponsive. After playing the demo, I thought this would be a good game, but it gets boring very soon after that. I certainly don't recommend paying the CE price.
I don't recommend this game.

Sherlock Holmes VS Arsene Lupin
Embark on an investigation as Sherlock Holmes! Stop the legendary thief, Arsene Lupin, before he steals objects from England!
This is an old type adventure game and not the typical BFG game. Instead of pointing and clicking to change scenes and move around, one moves the character and the scene changes around him. There is a first-person option that allows one to scan the surroundings. Unfortunately, one can't do much but look in this mode. The menu is accessed via the escape key, and saving the game is not automatic, but is a menu option. The story is OK, but game play is very poor. Most of the "action" involves walking around seemingly endlessly. An IA map helps, but not enough. There is a built-in guide, which is very helpful. The game is well produced. Too bad its so boring.
This game is right up there for winning the "worst game ever" prize. I could barely make it through 10 minutes of the demo before giving up in disgust. It looked at first like it was going to be a good production, until you actually start playing the game. Gameplay is terrible! Make sure you try it before you buy it.
Prepare for a mind-bending journey into the realm of the weird in Haunted Halls: Revenge of Dr. Blackmore! Brace yourself for the unexpected in this exciting Hidden Object adventure!
After reading all the rave reviews for this game, I was really looking forward to playing it. I was very disappointed. I liked the previous games, but I think, as with some movies, they made one too many sequels. This one was poorly done. The artwork is mediocre at best and sometimes awful. The story is really bad - when is Tim going to wake up and help? The Dr. in the flying eye was way over the top. It was simple, too, with four seperate "scenes". The HOS are varied - regular, fragmented, IA. Puzzles are basically dumb and repetitive. The "portable lab" is really stupid. The bonus chapter is actually better than the rest of the game, but it still isn't worth paying the extra money.
I don't recommend this game.

E.P.I.C: Wishmaster Adventures
Experience an incredible space adventure in E.P.I.C!
This is not your nomal HOG. You search for objects to use to open doors, etc. as usual, but it isn't always straightforward such as just finding a key. Sometimes, objects need to be combined before use, etc. Fortunately, the HINT button gives decent advice without being detailed. The HOS are difficult with many options - doors to open and close, etc. The artwork is the standard mediocre with next to zero characterzations. The story is really bad, being nonsensical and poorly told. I only played the demo, so I didn't run into too many puzzles. If you want something different and more difficult than your normal HOG, then this is worth a shot. Otherwise, I don't recommend it.
This game looks like some amatuers got together and tried to make a game like the big boys and girls do, and they did what might be expected - a mediocre job. There are live actors, but they don't move a muscle, for example. The story is the same old, same old. The artwork, HOS and puzzles are also mediocre. The only way I would recommend this game is if you have money to waste (a better use would be to send it to me) or a free game.
I must admit that I never liked the Red Riding Hood tale when I was a kid, and this is Red Riding Hood meets Wonder Woman, which I also disliked. To add insult to injury, it's a FROG! I never understood how those who complain about other HOSs being a "junkpile" can tolerate a FROG. They are real junkpiles without even recognizable objects, like a hammer, to look for. The production of this game is very good, but it can't make up for a real stinker of a story and the celebration of killing animals. If the characters in this game were knuckle-dragging men and not cute girls, it wouldn't even have been published. Shame on Blue Tea for this atrocity.
I found this game to be very confusing. I only played the demo, so I didn't have the SG, but I bet it's needed. The puzzles are very difficult, the HOS had some tiny objects, the story is dumb, the artwork is OK and the VO is VERY annoying. What's to like about this game? Nothing, as far as I can tell.
