This was a really fun game to play. The story line was excellent, the puzzles varied and challenging, as were the HOS. There were a couple of glitches during play, where the conversation bubbles and introduction to the next scenes were absent. I had to quit and go back a couple of times to try to fix this, which worked once or twice, but not always. I was also unable to completely turn off the music for the game and ended up having to mute the speaker on my computer to get rid of it. I don't like to play with sound as it is too distracting. For those puzzles that were too hard or I just didn't want to spend any more time on, the ability to play a HOS instead of finishing the puzzle was a definite plus. The hint button worked like a charm. All in all, a really great game that held my interest the entire time.
I recommend this game!

I can't believe I would ever say this, but this game was way too long due to the lack of variety of the HOS and puzzles. There are 20 missions with 5-8 levels within each mission. With only about 20 locations this means each location is visited many times. That wouldn't be so bad if each HOS asked for different items, but this was not the case. And the puzzles, one of which followed each HOS, were the same over and over again. I'm not saying they were the same type of puzzle, although that was also true, but that they were EXACTLY THE SAME puzzle over and over again. How many times can you do a jigsaw puzzle of the same scene before you get bored. This game should have been much shorter to keep from boring me to death. I will not be purchasing any other games in this series.
I don't recommend this game.

This game is made up entirely of HOS and Match 3 puzzles. There is no story line, but there are some neat facts about Australia, including definitions of some of their slang words. There is no choice of level of difficulty. The HOS are clear and not too difficult. Finding all the boomerangs opens up unlimited HOS and Match 3 games at the end. This is always fun, as you can play every scene and pick out all of the HO, instead of just the few you needed to find during the regular play. I'm not a big fan of Match 3 puzzles, but enjoyed the wealth of HOS.
I recommend this game!

This game was fun to play. The graphics are so clear and realistic that it is a feast for the eyes, after all the dark games.
The storyline was excellent and moved with logic from place to place. The minigames were varied and some were really hard; I skipped several.
The map was interactive and showed which areas needed actions. Moving from place to place with the map was very helpful and appreciated.
The hint button was excellent, both in the HOS and the game itself. I never had to access the walkthrough. The HOS got harder as the game progressed.
All in all, a challenging, enjoyable game. I will be getting the other game in this series.
I recommend this game!

This was a neat game and I enjoyed it. It took some thinking to make some of the connections to tasks that needed to be done before you could progress. The hint button only worked in the HOS so if you got stuck, your only option was the walkthrough. The strategy guide and the extras were only available in the Collector's Edition.
It seemed like there were "jumps" in the game and I'm guessing that these were areas that would have been filled in in the Collector's Edition.
The HOS were good and I used a few hints to finish some of them. The mini games were interesting and not too difficult. Not too much back and forth, going back through the same areas over and over again. That really spoils a game for me.
An enjoyable game, but I'd recommend the Collector's Edition instead.
I don't recommend this game.

Very good game that moved in a nice linear progression. The HOS were where you had to find items to release something. You have no inventory in this game, so when you find all the pieces to an item, it doesn't go into inventory, but it either lights up, or starts moving, or falls down to reveal other items. Some of the items are very hard to recognize; some I found by accident, others I had to use hints for.
The game seemed a little short, but I loved the ending.
I recommend this game!

All the Mystery PI games are the same; they have tons and tons of HOS to play. You can play them with a clock keeping time or you can play the casual mode. I played the timed mode and didn't have any trouble finishing the HOS in the time period provided.
There are 25 levels to the game and you have from 3 to 8 HOS to play for each level. At the end of each level, there is a puzzle to solve, but they are not that hard. Also you must pick up certain items during the game to unlock the extra HOS and 35 match 3 games at the end.
The final puzzle at the end was good; I was timed out once and had to start over.
It is a long game, even without playing the extra scenes at the end. Well worth the money.
I recommend this game!

I enjoyed this game, but it didn't grab me one way or the other. Pretty average I guess you would say. The graphics were good and there was a variety of games. the extra games at the end were a good addition and something I hadn't seen before.
I recommend this game!

The storyline is Ok, about finding treasure to return to their owner in exchange for saving the protagonist's little sister.
I played the timed option but had no problem finishing the "chapters" within the time allowed. For each set of 5 locations, you are allocated 5 hints. However, there are a couple of other ways to zero in on an item. The HOS were very inconsistent, with some being fairly easy, and others being a lot harder. The size of the objects within each scene also varied greatly, from fairly large to so small and dark, that, even with several hints, it was a matter of clicking around in the area until you hit it.
The purpose of taking pictures of the fish was never explained, but basically, depending on how good your pictures were, you received a trophy at the end of the game.
And, as indicated in the title, it is a fairly short game in comparison to most other similar games.
I don't recommend this game.

This game has a very loose storyline about a casino robbery in Las Vegas. Actually, it is nothing but HOS after HOS which is great for those of us who love these types of games.
In order to unlock the "unlimited" mode at the end, you have to collect 25 keys and 25 gambling chips. In addition, although this is not revealed unless you accidentally click on the fingerprint, which is also in every scene, if you collect 25 fingerprints, you get 1 million points added to your score. I played the timed version of the game but had no problem finding all the objects within the time allowed. In addition, if you were able to click several objects in a row quickly, you also got additional points.
I rarely needed to use the hint button, but once in awhile I could not figure out what the description was alluding to; the items were sometimes described instead of named.
The "unlimited" play at the end of the game consisted of revisiting all the game locations to find ALL the HO, over 2,000 of them.
All in all an enjoyable game and I look forward to playing the others in this series.
I recommend this game!
