Crisp, clear graphics, sypmpathetic and interesting characters, just spooky enough but not dreary and depressing. I especially liked the option of match 3 instead of HOS. Suspenseful and kept me playing.
Usually when I buy a game for location I'm dissapointed but not this one. It wa authentically and spookily New Orleans. I lived there for 7 years and this game gave me a sense of deja vu. Only someone from there could have gotten the details so right. There were flaws such as tiny unfindable objects and a story that fell completely apart but the weird characters as well as the locations made it well worth playing for me.
I wish there were more games like this. It features a good story, a solvable mystery with real clues, beautiful settings and no witches ghosts or anything occult. It was tricky in some spots but worth it. Will replay.
As another reviewer said, you will love or hate this game. I loved it! This is only the 3rd game of the horror genre that goes on my favorite game list. In fact, I rarely buy them and if I do I'm usually dissapointed. But, although this one does lack a hint system outside the HO scenes and those are often dark, I completely enjoyed this one and couldn't stop playing. What most endeared me was the wolves that popped up everywhere and the acting. Unlike most of these games, Ashley delivered such lines as "Oh, Grandma", with believable emotion. The game was challenging but that will add to its ability to be replayed. The story was great, with a surprise, involved ending.
Same game as Faerie but graphics ugly rather than cute, story not fun and annoying features having to do with time and temperature and nothing to do with the game. Layouts seemed repetitive. Glad when the trial was over!
I'm a sucker for games set in the wild west and I was happy to enjoy many other aspects of this game as well. It's close to being a straight HOG rather than adventure because its one HOS after the other, broken up by puzzles and a few adventure-like interactions. The story was engaging and I loved the fact that although there were ghosts involved it wasn't horror-genre and dark like so many HOGs. Every chapter involved interaction with a new interesting character. The objects were clear, interesting and attractive. I especially loved clicking on the animals in the scenes to hear the noises and shooting the cans. After you finish the game you can play the whole thing with images reversed, which I'm doing now, just to return to the western scenes and shoot all the cans this time!
I recommend this game!

Lost City of Z
Explore the exotic rainforest to find valuable clues and follow the trail of a missing National Geographic researcher!
Pretty much a straight hidden object game with some cool tools to use and puzzles to break upt the HOS. Beautiful exotic location and suspensful, interesting story.Nice break from occult horror games. I liked it that all the objects could have been found at the scenes--nothing too out of place or time.
