I really wanted to love this game. However, within the first 2 hours I thought about quitting several times. I'm glad I stuck with it because after you settle in, the game gets more fun and the last half of the game definitely beats the first.
Note: It is not a Hidden Object Game. It is an adventure game with a couple of hidden object puzzles. Mini-puzzles make the bulk of the game.
Pros: Graphics. Wow. From the waterfall opening to the beautiful colors and puzzles - this is a great looking game. Puzzles medium to hard. All make sense and are understandable. Payoff ending is good, no abrupt "and its over' kind of ending.
Cons: Too many open places at ones. You go through the map at breakneck place creating opening after opening. You're dragging around stuff you won't need for quite a while - and you have 10 puzzles needing pieces all over the map. So there is a lot of back and forth and a laundry list of places and needs to remember. Poor planing.
The game is talky in the beginning. Jane and the gnome prattle on. The things to use aren't always logical and there's too much to keep up with at one time. It's tedius and boring in the beginning. But, once some of the openings get closed and the story is more linear, it helps.
Toward then end - things start moving quickly, dialogue gets cut back and it's a more pleasant game.

I like the little dwarf in Haunted Legends but I wish there was more character to him - I wish we knew why he was just a jerk or something. He's a weak link in this one instead of a star.
But - the star here is the graphic and game play - good story, and good relaxation.
Pros: Great graphics and fun with ghosts. Medium to high level puzzles, variety in HOS/Minigames. Interesting frame for story, intuitive situations.
Cons: While the story had a good frame, it was undeveloped, left gaps and ended abruptly. The dwarf causes problems, but is easy to get around and mostly just annoying instead of powerful. Finding the rings is neat, but if you get out of sequence you end up with rings you don't need, and needing rings you don't have.
Overall, if you like Haunted Legends, you'll like this addition.

I loved this entry into the living legends title series. It was so fun I didn't want to stop and played about 4 hours one night. (I usually get about an hour of play time In a night).
Pros: Not a new story but interesting twist, light - medium puzzles, mini-games balance out HO scenes so it's not the same thing over and over, beautiful graphics, nice sound effects. Intuitive decisions (you can figure out what goes where) - A fun little pet that also helps. Easy to follow - one scene logically leads to another. Generous Hint button, didn't need it.
Cons: Characters are a little weak, ending abrupt. Some mini-games are long and repetitive.

I read all these reviews that said the game was slow - but I didn't find it slow at all. An interesting story combined with awesome graphics made this a top game to play.
Pros: Coins in every room makes each room a little challenging and interesting, Graphics are lovely to look at and small details in each room are worth checking out.The game never breaks character (no oddly modern stuff) and each task makes sense in a logical way. The story unfolds by chapters and invites the player into the drama. Clicking on items around the room gives even more of the story. Map takes you back and forth easily.
Cons: some coins blend in with the environment so well they are hard to see.Toward then end it started getting "room after room after room."

Disclosure: This was my first Jewel Quest (and last one).
I normally like the combo of Match 3 and Adventure but this left everything to be desired. Annoying drawn out story (worse than a HOG), and repetitive screens for each level make for a long game.
Pros: There are several different "Types" of match 3 - fire, snowstorm, path. Art cartoony but cute. Music relaxing. Options of what character to play and when.
Cons: Although there are different types - its the same types on every level and they don't seem to get harder. Just more of them. The storyline spends wayyyy toooo long with the "teens" of the story as they fight over a boy, whine over a snowstorm and write in their diary worring about someone getting insulin. if I wanted to listen to this much teen agnst I'd watch 90210. Ended up hitting "Skip" a lot to go over story. Mid way through - it just really got dull.

I loved the original Empress of the Deep but this latest (hopefully final) entry is a bit overwrought. Gorgeous compelling art, mixes with talky voice overs and non-sensical tasks.
Pros; Stunning visually. There's something about the art and world with its biomechanoids and underwater setting that sooth and draw in the eyes. Puzzles straight forward with lots of instructions. Full ending, not just a "BAM, Bad Girl is Dead."
Cons: TALKY TALKY TALKY. Same "twist" and plot as the other two - the "guide" has some problem and can't be with her - but he's shouting hints and instructions all the time. Repetitive storyline. The tasks don't make any real sense so the whole game reduces into hunt and peck, get this jewel, get feather...etc.
This is a visual masterpiece, relaxing and fun. Not too challenging, but beautiful to play and watch.
Pros: Music, artwork, colors, characters all fun. Bombs and helps are generous and renew quickly. The game "builds" as you play. Creative, fun "events" like pirates and giant octopi make it work.
Cons; Pretty repetitive, even for a match 3. It builds up quickly and is pretty much the same style/pattern over and over as you build things. The helps come early in the game, and while they get stronger don't really change or add.
By the time I finished - I was done with it, but - it was a nice ride.

Like all the Grim Facade games, this one has beautiful graphics, varied puzzles, fun challenges. The story is weaker that some of the others.
Pros: Beautiful graphics, varied puzzles (easy to medium), challenges to earn money for clues.
Cons: The new "assistant" is annoying and useless - stating obvious things "Wow, maybe we should go in that door!". The cute little fox just disappears with no explanation, and when you get to the end there's no motivation for the characters to do what they are doing then BAM! It's over.
Overall, it was a fun game - but plays like they took 6 months on the first half, and 6 days on the second.

Nice new addition to the Dark Parables series - where half the fun is seeing how the work shout-outs to each of the other games in each game. The unfortunately Fragment Reassemble Object Game (FROG) is over-used - which bounced it down a star for me.
Pros: Beautiful graphics, Amazing in depth storyline combining two stories in one. I played this much more quickly than most because i was interested in the story. Music soothing, voice-overs efficient. Thought out and good ending. Puzzles easy to Medium.
Cons: UGH! The "reassemble" the fragments sections are terribly boring after a while (all the objects sort of look the same) and toward the end there is just screen after screen of "reassemble this potion" or "Reassemble this seal." They needed to find a variety of ways to give you objects.
The extra attention to the backstory and characters makes up for the FROG scenes. Teaser for the next Dark Parables looks as exciting as always!
The Emperor's son has a mysterious illness. As legendary healer Daiyu, you're called to the palace to save him, but you end up having to save yourself!

The opening makes it seem this is the first of a series and I certainly hope so. Amazing graphics, fast paced story, fun puzzles make this a total package.
Pros: Movie quality cutaways, Good voice-overs, beautiful graphics, good story (trite but twisty), intuitive objects and decisions. Generous hint (not really needed).
Cons: puzzles are easy, Seems a little short - but that's because its a good game. Ending abrupt.
