They have added a new feature that allows you to gamble your points in a double or nothing game of cards where you select a card from the board if it's higher than the dealer's card your points are doubled, if not you lose your points. Points are used to buy virtual items to bring nature to life in a scene. This is an okay feature, but there are still no Anti-bonuses to make the Clear-it levels more challenging, they are the same as they were in the previous 5 games. I also had issues with the game mechanics being sluggish, orbs would move erratically or in slow-motion at times.
There are 190 Clear It puzzles available to solve, the first 2 Clear It games only had 150, the 3rd Clear It had a whopping 205 which diminished to 180 on the last or 4th installment, yet they all claim to have 10 hours of gameplay? There are 6 Profile slots available so that other family members can play.
For some reason, they didn't offer an Expert Mode on this installment or the one before, which requires a Match 3 vs. this 2-orb match. There's no timer or limited moves, so you take all the time in the world to clear the orbs, which makes this type of game very relaxing, yet addictive.
The gameplay is simple, but the game itself isn't simple to master. There is an unlimited number of colored orbs located on all four sides of the board, and all you need to do, is select and click on an identical colored orb from one of the sides which will travel in a straight line until it hits another orb (or power-up) If the selected orb hits another identical colored orb or orbs, they are removed, and the goal is to remove all orbs.
Each level has power-ups that remain briefly, that when hit with an orb, is activated. The Rotation power-up shuffles and replaces orbs Star power-ups eliminate several random orbs, Lightning-Fireball power-ups eliminate nearby orbs, Exclamation power-ups eliminate all orbs of the same color and the numbers1 or 5 allows you to choose which orbs to remove via crosshair targets (either 1 or 5 orbs)
Each level is slightly more difficult than the previous level, as more orb colors are added, and fewer orbs in the desired color along the edges are offered. Sometimes you just have to sacrifice and add a few orbs to the equation, to be able to get to the desired-colored orb, but because there's no time or moves limit it doesn't count against you.
Once again, I was disappointed that the rows and columns don't highlight. The game seems to be the same as the others in the series with no added challenges.

fromFANTASTIC JOB GUYS! Thank you for taking me on this amazing adventure journey! ♡

For some odd reason, Felix has been reluctant to embrace change. They stay inside their comfort zone and only offer games created by the same handful of developers in the same genre groups since the beginning of time. I'm sure they believe that the system they have now is working perfectly fine, they stay true to their original fan base which is admirable, but people are constantly changing, constantly adapting, constantly evolving, yet the HOPA games remain the same. The storylines are becoming stale, the same point & click feature remains the same (with the exception of a somewhat new feature of panning scenes or zoom zones but still a point and click feature) The Hidden Object Scenes have objects that are anything but "hidden" and the puzzles aren't puzzles at all. Even though HOPA stands for Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure, the games nowadays are so simplistic that they aren't an adventure at all, they are just games to whittle away the time until a real adventure comes along...that day is today folks!
Felix finally spread his fins and swam outside of the pond to journey to the wide-open sea and he returned with Adera, a game that will change everything, a game that has raised the bar forevermore.
Adera is a game about exploring, a game that puts you behind the wheel of your own destiny. Adera is a game that spared no expense to create a virtual and realistic experience that draws you in hook, line, and sinker. I've always wondered why PC adventure games weren't more like a console game that gives you the freedom to explore every nook and cranny from a realistic first-person aspect, and this is exactly what I've been missing, exactly what I've been yearning for!
We play as Jane, an intelligent, likable character on an assignment to locate her grandfather Amaro who never returned from an exploration assignment, and was presumed dead. After a strange phenomenon or perhaps fate, Jane and her pilot and dear friend Hawk begin their journey a little sooner than expected. There are 5 unique Episodes or chapters that have a movie trailer teaser available for each episode, watching the trailers won't really spoil the plot, it thickens the plot and leaves you hungry for more!
Explore! Pan left, right, up, down, go backward, go forward, stand still and do a 360-degree turn...just because you can! (some in between areas such as going through an archway, won't allow you to pan, you can only use the forward/backward arrow located on the bottom right, above the inventory bar) Look under rocks, crevices, shrubs, and canyons because not only will you need tools and supplies, but you'll need Easter Eggs, lots and lots of Eggs. There are literally hundreds of Collectibles that may be as small as a coin, or as large as a totem! (Technology-11, Oceanic Relics-8, Bioluminescent Life-17, Butterflies-20, Coins-20, Family Relics-17, Jewelry-14, Singing Stones-9, Totems-16, Memorial Ribbons-9, Game Pieces-4, Feathers-9, Caseknots-7, Soul Crystals-7, Dolls-6)
Important areas of interest will Glint and I didn't see a way to turn off glints. The glint zones require the use of an inventory item. You don't actually pick up an inventory item to use it, you click on the item and then the scene where it will be used and it automatically triggers the action IF it is the correct object.
Hidden Object Scenes will begin to twinkle or glint when available, which seems to be non-linear requiring a trigger point. The Hidden Object Scenes are relevant so far, the items to search for are normal, useful items, you won't be searching for an old-fashioned iron or something that shouldn't or wouldn't even be there in the first place!
Puzzles are indicated by a Jigsaw Puzzle Piece, and yes, they are true puzzles, gadgets you have to tinker with, or codes you have to translate, they are puzzles you would expect to solve based on the location or time-frame. My favorite puzzle was I believe the second puzzle offered that required you to rotate disk rings, but you also had to turn key sections interlocking the disk rings. These are the kind of puzzle I love, gadgets and trinkets where you have to tinker with, gauges, fluid levels, connections, and various mechanical aspects that require you to think a couple of steps ahead to get the desired outcome.
I realize many people fear change, or they like games just the way they are and don't see a need to change something that has been that way for decades, but if you want to play a game that has an incredible storyline, something with live-action, "AAA production with incredible 3D graphics", and "Professional voice acting", if you want to "Experience a rich story that spans 5 episodes" then you will want to "Explore the amazing world of Adera" because for once, the synopsis is 100% correct!

Completed CE Game approximately 5.5 hours (including ALL mini-games & CE Bonus Chapter)
When HOPA games first came to light, I loved them all, I couldn't get enough of 'em because they kept evolving, each one was better than the one before. Developers poured their heart and soul into each new game in a series, they were downright proud of their creations, their "babies." Somewhere along the lines they just stopped caring, they got lazy, after all, people were still buying them, or maybe they just ran out of ideas. Each release became the same as the one before, nothing new, nothing exciting, just another game kinda games. Somewhere along the road, I changed too, I evolved right along with the games, no longer content with the same ole cookie-cutter versions. Nowadays, I look for something different. I look for great storylines (I'll settle for good storylines) I look for beauty and creativity, it doesn't have to knock me off of my computer chair or even blow my socks off, mostly, I want to enjoy a game without being bored to death, without feeling like I have to force myself to finish a game because I just spent my hard-earned money.
With that being said, no I do not like gadgets, but I'm so glad I didn't pass this game up because of a gadget used quickly 6 times during 5 chapters! I enjoyed the beautiful graphics, I enjoyed the storyline, and Dream Box entertained me from beginning to end without boring me a single time, the entertainment I received playing Dream Box was worthy of my hard-earned money.
There are two Gadgets, the first one is just a Mechanical Owl that reaches objects normally unreachable but it doesn't require any effort on the players part, the owl just appears when the zoom zone is clicked. The second Gadget is a Vermin Catcher that is used 6 times in the entire game, and it isn't that bad (with the exception of its name which is kinda weird) There is an associated Hidden Object game variation where you click on 5 orange eyes when they appear from behind items, again, it takes seconds to complete and it isn't a deal-breaker, in fact, it would have been a really awesome feature IF there were more eyes to catch AND they were a tad smaller and slightly more elusive! The only thing that annoyed me with this gadget was that 1 lens out of 3 would crack after every single use which would require me to find a new one before I could use it again, I should have returned it to the manufacturer and told them they sold me a lemon!
There are 14 Hidden Object Scenes and 12 Zoom Zone HOP's +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter, and there is an alternate Match 3 game available if you don't like HOP's. The scenes vary with Silhouetted Shape Finds, Interactive List Finds, Swatches (find areas that match a swatch sample) Keywords in Sentence Finds, Pair Finds, Multiples of the same Item Finds, and a scene where you pull levers to switch between scenes. As I stated earlier, there is a "Vermin Catcher" Gadget, repetitive HOP where you locate 5 Eyes that slowly appear and disappear from behind obstructions.
There are 26 Mini-Games +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter. There are a ton of Pair Matching tasks throughout, but they are actually tasks and not listed as mini-games or HO's. The puzzles aren't bad, but they aren't very challenging either. I don't necessarily consider that a bad thing, especially when the game itself isn't boring. Below are brief descriptions of some of my personal favorites:
❉ Place directional arrows to create a path to navigate to the park. Colored tiles require different actions, blue+must stop, red+ don't stop, green=do or don't stop. დ ❉ Arrange the puppets' position using various dials, one affects others. დ ❉ Solve each puzzle by activating tiles in the correct order to fill in the lines, tiles can bump into each other. დდ ❉ Select 2 icons that when combined would logically create the bottom row of images. დ ❉ Arrange the masks so their patterns align. დდდ
The Collector's Edition Bonus Chapter, True Love, is a somewhat short chapter that takes place over 7 different scene locations. You play as Charles, (a man with a passion for gears?!?) one of the characters introduced in the final chapter of the main game. Charles discovers a letter from dearly-departed Victoria who seems to have predicted her untimely death and has vital information she needs to reveal to her beloved. There are 4 Hidden Object Scenes and 6 Mini-Games, and you'll pick up the remaining 7 Morphing Objects (which unlocks the final character statues) 9 Jewellers, and 8 Page Fragments which unlocks the final story page)
The Collector's Edition version has 16 Wallpapers, 14 Concept Art Pictures, 7 Music Soundtracks, 18 Replayable Movie Video Cutscenes, 15 Achievements, 14 Replayable Mini-Games, 11 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 27 Morphing Objects, 8 Character Statuettes (available with 2-4-8-11-18-22-27 Morphing Objects found) 41 Opaque Jewelry Figurines, *You can return to the scenes to search for missed jewelry after completing the Main Game* 30 Zoom Zone Page Fragments (reveals 5 story-based elaborations) 5 Main Chapters titled "Amber Trail" +Bonus Chapter titled "True Love" and a Built-in Strategy Guide.

The famous rock band, Velvet Whisper, has agreed to set their difference aside for one last Rock-reunion performance...just Roll with it?! (can't take that name seriously, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Jimi Hendrix, or The Red Hot Chili Peppers are rock bands, Velvet Whisper sounds like a Romance Novel or the owner of a Horse named Velvet, or the name of a new cake recipe...)
Their music is legendary, and it also has ghostbusting potential because, for some unknown and unexplained reason, it drives away the evil paranormal fog. What is the significance of the fog? Where did the fog come from? Why does the fog hate this particular music, you may ask? I don't know! (never mind, for a moment I forgot that we were talking about The Velvet Whisper Band's music bwahahaha) How did this orphan girl get paranormal powers? I don't know! If she's a living, breathing human, (which is made quite clear in the story) why does she have a ghostly apparition, don't you have to be dead to haunt? Where did the muse come from? Why is she trapped like a genie in a bottle? Why did MHG make young Grace look so creepy as a kid? Why did MHG decide to ruin the Cadenza series that began with an amazing N'Awlins experience at the famous Jazz Pepper Club during Mardi Gras? So many questions I have, such a disappointment. MHG needs to take a few hours to replay Music, Betrayal, and Death so they can see where they went so horribly wrong!
There are 14 HIDDEN OBJECT SCENES +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter and 2 Zoom Zone Silhouetted Shape HO's that are mostly ho-hum Interactive List Finds located in uninteresting places. There are also Multiples of the same Item Finds, Finding & Replacing Items, Progressive-Interactive Finds, and Silhouetted Shape Finds, In this CE version, each Hidden Object Scene has a very easy to spot Morphing Object. Any missed HOP Morph can be picked up by replaying the HOP's in the CE Extra's section.
There are only 11 MINI-GAMES +2 in the CE Bonus Chapter. These are basic, bare-bones puzzle that truly lacks creativity. Below are brief descriptions of some of the less-lame puzzles offered:
♫-Swap tiles or move rows left or right to recreate the pattern shown. ♫-Choose 4 partial symbols to recreate the symbol shown. ♫-Rotate tiles to complete the railroad tracks and then select directional arrows to move the train from point A to B ♫-Connect identical colored dots by drawing a line that doesn't intersect another colors line.

When Lisa's granddaughter Angel is kidnapped from the recording studio during her first solo, Grandma Lisa hunts them down to make them regret the day they were born! There are 7 Scene Locations During this average-length chapter, but there are only 2 Mini-Games and 4 Hidden Object Scenes?? There are 10 Hidden Object Scenes +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter and 16 smaller Zoom Zone HOP's that are variations of Multiple Object Finds. Most of the main HOP's are Interactive List Finds but there are also Keywords in Sentence Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Multiples of an Object Finds and Replacing Items Logically into the Scene. The scenes are lacking in both color and imagination, and towards the end of the game, the scenes are repeated making them even more boring than I thought possible.
There are 35 Mini-Games +17 in the CE Bonus Chapter. I found most of the puzzles boring because they are the same puzzles offered in all Amax games. Below are descriptions of some of my favorite puzzles:
☠ Swap tiles to their matching slots using clock hands ☠ Swap triangle-shaped puzzle pieces to complete the puzzle image. ☠ Drag flasks to "untangle" the ropes that bind them. ☠ Arrange butterflies by aligning them with the color clue indicator in the central disk. ☠ Place numbered plates to navigate safely w/o landing on an obstacle. ☠ Find the correct combination for each dial (spin at different speeds) and drag tokens to the corresponding slots to drop them to the bottom.

The Phantom of the Opera is wreaking havoc within the Vienna Opera House, seeking Justice and demanding the guilty atone for their sins! The lives of the troupe and the Opera House are at stake because the Phantom won't stop until the criminals confess, but who confesses and for what crime?
The first of two Gadgets is the All-Seeing-Eye which requires you to collect "evidence" in the form of a small Hidden Object Scene. As you find the Listed items, they show a brief description next to them and the detective gives a brief summary of events that took place. This gadget is used 7 times in the main game and 4 more times in the CE Bonus Chapter.
The second Gadget is a Deduction-Conclusion Notebook. Once you gather a slew of evidence and photos, you are tasked with placing them into corresponding oval slots that highlight automatically, no actual deductions necessary (What's the point of this annoying task? At least let me try to figure out where the items should be placed!) This gadget is used 7 times in the main chapter and 2 times in the CE Bonus Chapter.
There are 30 Morphing Opera Masks in the main game and 8 within the CE Bonus Chapter. There are 20 Hidden Alphabet Letters in the main Game and 7 within the CE Bonus Chapter. They have done a really good job with both features, the Opera Masks not only morph slowly but they don't morph into something that looks out of place. Once you find all Morphs and Letters, they are used to unlock additional Bonus Super Puzzles!
There are 14 Hidden Object Scenes +6 within the CE Bonus Chapter, not including the Evidence All-Seeing-Eye HO's. I have to give kudos to our 4 good Friends who were able to reinvent the wheel to bring a new type of HOP to the table! You have to grab pictures or images that have a missing section from the inventory bar and align the hole with an item in the scene. The First one simply required finding a logical shape like a missing bouquet of flowers but the second go-round was way cooler because the objects were so well blended into different fabric textures in the scene, Nice! ✔ There were also the usual Interactive List Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Replace Item Finds, and several Multiples Finds that were usually offered in a repeated scene.
There are 18 Mini-Games +10 in the CE Bonus Chapter. There are several smaller puzzles to solve before using an inventory + item and within most of the HOP's such as placing torn photo fragments, rotating circles on disks, etc. Below are brief descriptions of some of the mini-games I liked:
♫-Jump Red and Blue Chips until only one remain. ♫-Use the empty slot to replicate a bird's flight on a film strip. ♫-Select the number of moves & direction to travel from point A to B. ♫-Place wine bottles of different categories for each country.
The CE Bonus Chapter story takes place shortly after solving the Phantom of the Opera case when the Detective receives an urgent message from Johann Strauss, the conductor at the Vienna Opera House. A Muse has been appearing to Johann shortly after sunset and everyone thinks he's lost a few nuts and bolts and desperately needs the detective to validate and identify the Muse and its purpose. The chapter is slightly longer than any of the main games' chapters, spanning over 8 scene locations. There are 10 Mini-Games and 6 Hidden Object Scenes and you will collect the remaining 7 Letters and 8 Morphing Opera Masks. You will use the All-Seeing Eye Gadget 4 times to collect evidence via HO scenes, and the Deduction Notebook Gadget one final time to draw your conclusion and put another Dark City notch on your belt.
This Collector's Edition version has 11 Wallpapers (psst, Friends of 4, most ppl want wallpapers of the beautiful scenery you created so can you skip the character cameos?) 19 Concept Art Pictures, 4 Screensavers, 5 Music Soundtracks, 26 Movie Video Cutscenes, 23 Achievements, 12 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 13 Replayable Mini-Games, 4 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-in Strategy Guide.

I think Big Fish is so used to offering Hidden Object Games that they don't notice when they mislabel a game, sorry Home Designer Hidden Object fans, this is a Limited Moves, "Click Groups of Tiles" Match 3 game. It's not even a good Match 3 game, it'$ another one of tho$e "ϝɾҽҽ2ρʅαყ" mobile devi¢e game$ di$gui$ed a$ a de$ktop P¢/Ma¢ paid game.
This is a Group click type of Match 3 where you simply click on groups of at least 2 identical tiles to collect them, so technically it's not even a Match 3 it's a Match 2. The level goals usually consist of collecting a specified number of specified tiles within a specified number of moves, but you may also have to drop Cactus to the bottom of the board, make matches to destroy obstacles or pop all Bubble Tiles.
Clicking on Large groups will earn Bonus Power-ups, 5-6 will earn you a Drill to clear a vertical or horizontal line, 7-8 will earn you a Bomb to clear a small group of adjacent tiles, 9 will earn you a Battery to collect all of one kind of tile. Combining these power-ups will create bigger explosions to play the game for you, such as Drill+Battery=turns all tiles to drills, Drill+Bomb=1 directional blast, Bomb+Battery=big bomb.
Boosters become available as you progress to specific levels and can be used at your discretion, a Hammer to remove a single Tile, a Saw to remove an entire row of Tiles, a Scraper to remove an entire column of Tiles, and a Shuffle to reshuffle all the tiles on the board. You start with 6, but you are forced to use one during the tutorial, however, they seem to be generous by allowing you to earn extra Boosters when you open up the Star Box which rewards you with Coins, Prestige Points, and random Boosters. The Star Box requires earning a specified number of stars to open it, and when 1 is opened another Star Box appears. There is a Spin Wheel offered eventually to give you another chance to win an auto-play feature that allows you a free spin every 30 minutes.
As with the Hidden Object versions of Home Designer, you get to use the coins you earned playing the Match 2 game to decorate your first customer's Living Room (I'm assuming more clients to follow) Each decoration has 3 selections to choose from (all costing the same amount) Honestly, most of the selections are ugly and pleathery-looking, thank goodness it's not in my living room lol.
If you like Match 3 games that are actually "Click Groups of 2 or more Tiles" you're in luck! If you like Limited Moves only, Match 3 games, you're in luck! If you like boring tiles that are nothing more than colored boxes, you're in luck! If you like Match 3 games that have a ton of large match opportunities that rewards you with numerous Power-ups & Boosters to play itself, you're in luck. If you like Match 3 games that don't require skill, you're in luck!
However, IF you like Match 3 games that require using strategy and skill, IF you like to try to beat a Match 3 level without using power-ups and bonuses, or IF you like a Match 3 game that doesn't pass out bonuses like candy on Halloween night, I'm afraid you're out of luck ♧ my friends, this isn't the Match 3/Hidden Object Game for you!

Once again, Crystal Mosaic delivers a beautiful Mosaic-Griddler with unique crystal tiles. The colors are bright and vibrant and pleasing to look at and the images are easily recognizable (and labeled) The only complaint I have is that the puzzles are far too easily solved, in fact, there are a couple of images that literally only take a few seconds to complete! That isn't necessarily a bad thing, this would be the perfect entry-level game for beginners or an ideal game for relaxation.
There are 5 different levels with 20 puzzles in each level, you can earn 3 stars per replayable level when you make no mistakes (5 allowed) and don't use any of the 5 available hints. You can opt to have the cells cross-off automatically or manually, (auto-remove) and you can switch between colors easily. There is a Measuring tool that allows you to measure how many cells are in a row or column, which can be helpful in an oddly shaped puzzle. There is a Layer feature that allows you to switch from seeing all color layers to only seeing the particular color you are currently working on.
I like the option customization features, but what I love is that you can exit the game mid-puzzle and the game saves your progress. I never understood why some of the largest Mosaic series games don't have an option to save your progress forcing you to restart the level from the beginning?

I mentioned my graphic resolution specs originally on my review of the CE game as well as the issues I was having and to my surprise, the developer contacted me at the pond forums and worked very hard to tweak the graphics to work on large screens! I can't tell you how impressed I am that a developer took the time to contact me AND solve the issue, so now I finally SEE what everyone else SEES!

Fortunately, I have both a Mac and a PC because this game works on my Mac but when I try to play it on my large screen PC, the background or actual playing field appears to be a normal size, but all the dialog boxes, task lists, and important features that pop-up is so tiny that I have to strain to read them. This is a TM game so I have to know what requirements are needed and what does what, in a "timely" manner.
