I know this game didn't get rave reviews when it was first released, but I rather enjoyed it. It stays fairly interesting throughout, without a lot of up's and down's, and the graphics and story for that matter, remind me of the Midnight Calling games. I personally enjoyed the CE version over this SE version because of the morphs and collectibles, so that's the only reason I just gave this game 3 stars when I gave the CE 4 stars. Here's a recap of my review to help you decide which version, if either, is right for you:
Running in the opposite direction seems like a logical response when faced with a flock of Harpies, but not in this town! In fact, they celebrate The Great Day of Harvest, and believe that it's a great honor to be "chosen" by a Harpy! (if you can't beat 'em, you may as well join 'em, right?) But the people of this town are also aware of a Prophecy that has been handed down for generations, that one day, someone brave enough, will challenge these harbingers of evil. That one day is Now, and that someone is You!
Before the demo's end, you will be joined by a Druid as a helper, soon after the demo, a Dwarf joins the team. I'm okay with these particular helpers because it seems like a logical fit, and they don't fidget, moan or grunt, like some helpers do to annoy you. In the Collector's Edition version, there are hidden Heart's, Morphing Objects, and Beastiary Figurine Statues to collect, as well as the usual CE bling of wallpapers, concept art, achievements, strategy guide and bonus chapter.
The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with Silhouetted Shape finds in pairs, Interactive List finds, smaller Zoom Zone Multiple finds, and a very interactive one where you find clothing items on shelves, and associated decorations to complete them. There isn't an alternative puzzle available, but I actually enjoyed most of the HOP's, which doesn't often happen nowadays.
The Mini Games are middle of the road type games, not bad, but could have been more creative. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Find and replace items in 4 different book pages.
2) Turn the dial to correct objects as shown on the clue.
3) Click the Aim icon when the ball is in the yellow zone x3
4) Slide pieces to restore amulet, using pieces as bumpers.
5) Select 3 rune sections to recreate center symbol.
6) Guide character through a maze using items along the path.
The Collector's Edition version has 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 10 Achievements to earn, 12 Morphing Objects, 17 Hidden Hearts, 6 Collectible Beastiary Figurines, 5 Chapters + Bonus Chapter, and a built-in Strategy Guide (includes Hidden Object Scene item location) enjoy the flight!

There have been several murders in London, mysterious murders of mysterious beings! Few people are aware that London has a secret. In fact, London has a Secret City that humans can't see, and don't even know it exists! Within the magical barrier of the city, resides three different species, the Lakrians, who are four-armed, powerful Mages, the Youtuns, who are blue-skinned giants and the Dwarves who live underground. Each culture is pointing their finger at the other, as the soul-stealing culprit. Even though humans aren't aware of their existence, you are called upon to investigate this case with complete authority to enter all three domains. Too bad nobody will believe you if you solve the case!
When I first started playing this game, I was confused. I thought this was a new series title but it looked exactly like a Mystery Tales game, heavily laden with excessive blue hues! A few minutes later, I was handed a pair of magical Glasses that reveals the Secret City, isn't that what the Glasses do in Mystery Tales? In my opinion, if Mystery Tales games were sinking ratings-wise, why would you ruin a new series by including everything Mystery Tales game have, it even has Missing Note Pages and all the same collectible types of Mystery Tales, I just don't get it, cut the apron strings, the MT baby is all grown let it go!
The Hidden Object Scenes are clear and the images are recognizable, but because the items aren't really hidden, they tend to be less challenging to find. The scenes vary with Keywords in Sentences of a background story, Silhouetted Shape finds, Interactive List finds and several smaller Silhouetted Shape find Zoom Zones. One of the Zoom Zone HOP's required you to switch colored filter lenses, but the items stuck out like a sore thumb. There is an alternative Match 3 game available, but I never understood why they don't just allow you to skip an HOP like they do the Mini-Games?
The Mini Games are actually quite challenging for a change! Don't worry, you can choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode. Below are brief descriptions on some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Drag sketches to align with the images shown.
2) Find 3 sections for each symbol shown on the Amulet.
3) Swap and rotate triangle shaped tiles to complete images.
4) Grab 2 tokens at a time, rotate and replace to correct slots
5) Select colored eyes to reveal tile images & swap correctly.
6) Arrange tokens to match the clue, rotating 1 affects others
7) Reassemble image using arrows on columns & rows.
8) Move Knights in L formation to cover the entire board.
9) Adjust the lens to restore the images.
10) Adjust the dial to locate footprints.
This Collector's Edition version has 16 Wallpapers, 9 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 28 re-playable Movie Videos, 18 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 19 re-playable Mini-Games, 15 Achievements to Earn, 15 Collectible Secret City Newspaper Stories, (allows you to read Newspaper Articles from the Secret City) 55 Hidden Crystals (that allows you to purchase 14 Evidence items, 15 Hidden Artifacts (allows you to visit the Room Of Mystical Cultures and read about the Artifacts used in the Secret City) Missing Notes to discover (why do I lose my notes in every series by Domini?) 6 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide, enjoy!

I love the Shapes style mosaics this game offers, but after playing the recently released Spring In Japan Mosaics game, I found the Traditional Multi-Colored mosaics offered in this game to be rather bland. I also thought the boards could be a little bigger, they jump between sizes from puzzle to puzzle, and some are quite small.
Once again, you can choose the difficulty of the puzzles from several options. Casual mode has no timer, numbers are crossed off one by one and the hint timer recharges quickly. Normal mode has a timer with plenty of time, numbers are still crossed off one by one, and the hint recharges slowly. Expert mode gives you limited time to complete each level, numbers are crossed off only when an entire row has been completed, and the hint recharges very slowly. However, there's also a Custom mode setting that allows you to choose whether or not you want a timer, how long the hint takes to recharge from 30-120 seconds, how many mistakes you are allowed from 1-5, whether you want the numbers crossed off one by one or when an entire row is completed, and whether you want a time bonus.
In this version of World's Greatest Places Mosaics 3, there are 3 different mosaics styles, Traditional Multi-colored Mosaics, Shapes style where you are challenged to not only switch between colors but between colors and shapes. The numbers located on each column and row will indicate the shape, for instance, there might be a number 5 that has a circle around the number, indicating that you must switch to the circle shape button, or it may have a square or a hexagon shape around the number. The third type is really just an extension to a normal Griddler, where you have to place different shapes on to the picture just completed. It works the same way even though it looks complicated, after filling in all the cells, the picture remains and a whole new set of numbers appear. This time it's to figure out where the various shapes are placed, which gives the picture texture, but just ignore the picture and solve the shape placement the same way you solve any other griddler.
The coolest part about Mosaics offered by this developer is that you can choose the order you want to play the grids, in each level, if you want to play all of the swap types first, you can, in fact, you can play the mosaics in any order you want!
World's Greatest Places Mosaics, also gives you some interesting facts and pictures of different places around the world. I really like how they are able to add new twists to an age-old standard, enjoy!

Spring in Japan is a visually stunning Mosaic game that is challenging, entertaining and logical! This game proves that you don't have to include 6 colors of every hue ever created just to make a beautiful mosaic. They use colors that pop, like jet black next to cherry red, NOT used bubblegum pink, chalky blue, purple-nurple, ghastly green grenade, your grandma's yellow stove, and hazle-walnut mocha from the gas station colors like most mosaic games do.
You can choose from 3 different difficulty modes, Bronze (Easy) which gives you a 30-second refill timer, 5 Lives, 9 Shovels to reveal a single dot, and 3 bombs to remove a 3x3 field. Silver (Medium) gives you a 60-second hint refill timer, 3 Lives, 6 Shovels and 2 Bombs. Gold (Hard) gives you a 120-second hint refill timer, 1 Life, 2 Shovels and 1 Bomb.
There are 2 issues or flaws I have with this game, and others have made comments as well. The numbers on the columns and rows are difficult to see because they blend into the background, they could use a size adjustment as well. There is a Brush that is cumbersome and gets in the way because it sits on top of the Cursor, which is confusing because it appears that it is pointing to the cell above the one you want to apply color on.
The music is perfect, very soothing and very relaxing. You can hear wildlife and birds chirping in the distant background as well. This is how a Mosaic game should be, beautiful and relaxing, enjoy!

A few years ago, the Sages activated a portal to a parallel dimension. Ambassadors from both worlds signed a Peace Treaty and the two worlds seemed to coincide with each other without incident, or so it seemed. Shortly after signing the Treaty, citizens of our world fell ill and rapidly aged. As the disease began to spread, Henrik arrived from the Cities to offer a cure in exchange for our children, to supposedly join his court. There's just one problem... the cure isn't working!
We get a mechanical Owl to help us in our quest to solve this otherworldly disease dilemma, but he is rather cute and doesn't seem to make irritating noises or constantly shifting in his little owl domain, so I'm okay with him tagging along. Besides, it's kind of like taking a canary into the mines right? As far as a Collector's Edition version goes, this one is a wee bit lacking in the bling department with only 1 Collectible type, and no other morph or special feature. There are however a ton of the Love Letters to find, usually, 3 per scene, and the good news is that you can return to the scene to search for letters you may have missed if you select the Dove Icon associated with that particular scene.

Hidden Object Scenes are very creative, which is something I rarely say nowadays! Most of the HOP's are multi-layered and unfortunately, some of the scenes are repeated, which is a feature I really don't care for, it's just too boring and items are too easily spotted the second time around. There are Silhouetted Shape finds, Replacing items back into the scene, Multiples of the same object finds, and Interactive List finds available. You can opt to play a Match 3 game instead of the HOP's.
The Mini Games are in abundance and most have 3-4 different steps, but none seem to be too difficult or too frustrating. Below is a list of brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Rotate the petri dish to align the shaped puzzle pieces.
2) Move mechanical wasp antennae to correct positions.
3) Connect the dots to fill in all lines of the triangle.
4) Rotate sections to complete the image.
5) Repeat the sequence of tiles lighting up.
6) Place the symbol sections onto the correct store logo.
7) Swap tiles to complete the pattern.
8) Push colored orbs into their matching colored vortex,
9) Pull out all pins in the correct order.
10) Slide roses along the track to color-coded slots.
This Collector's Edition version has 14 Wallpapers, 11 Concept Art pictures, 8 Music Soundtracks, 8 Movie Videos, re-playable Hidden Object Scenes & Mini Games, 14 Achievements to earn, 102 Collectible Love Letters that unlock a Hidden Puzzle (with an option to go back and find ones you missed) 7 Main Chapters (Finding The Truth) +Bonus Chapter (Unknown World) and a built-in Strategy Guide, enjoy!

I agree with the other reviewer that this game has a few issues, but it also has some unique features, and I will always give developers credit when they "think outside of the box" This is a Solitaire Adventure about a young Viking who can't seem to find his niche within the Viking Clan. Young Valentin has failed miserably in every weapons course offered so naturally, he jumps at the chance to save the fair maiden Princess Estelle from the clutches of an Evil Wizard. In return, the King will grant her hand in marriage to any brave warrior who returns his Princess unharmed.
The graphics are designed to look like paper, although unusual, they are very creative. The music is a bit loud and repetitive and has no feature available to adjust the volume within the game itself, but my keyboard has volume controls so it's not a deal-breaker for me. You can choose between Normal and Themed Card styles. There is a brief tutorial to scroll through, which actually does explain the 4 Booster Cards. The first Booster Card removes any Gold Card, the second one removes any Closed Card, the third one removes any Open Card and the fourth Adds 2 Random Wildcards. You may also come across a Good/Bad Luck Card which either rewards you with Gold or Disables one of your Boosters for that level.
The goal on every level is to remove the gold cards. The gold cards don't have a face value, they are just blank and require a simple click to remove them. Wildcards and Jokers that are uncovered also require a single click to add them to your stash to be used whenever you need them. (I prefer this over having to use them right then and there) Combos start at only 4 cards, and there are the usual obstructions such as Locked Cards that require uncovering the Key Card. Each of the 12 Locations is replayed several times, they have different layouts, but you will re-enter the location each time until the required Gold Cards have been collected.
All that equals up to an average Solitaire game, but I added a fourth star for the Mini Games that in my opinion are really cool. After completing a level you must solve an Interactive Puzzle. Unfortunately, you must either wait 5 minutes before you can skip it or Click on the Walkthrough tab on the inventory bar and just complete the puzzle by direction. They aren't long, and personally, I enjoyed the puzzle more than the Solitaire game! Basically, you interact with the scene to get Valentin from point A to B. The cursor doesn't switch to a hand to say "pick me up" so you'll have to use your imagination and creativity skills to solve it. Items you find in the scene are added to your inventory and when you want to use that item, you'll have to scroll through the inventory and select "Equip" before an item can be used.

If you don't have a "Need For Speed" you're probably not going to enjoy this quest driven Mahjong Game. I give the devs credit, however, for thinking outside the box to create something new out of a dull genre.
The goal is to make matches of free tiles as quickly as possible and earn all 3 stars to earn items needed to progress. The first star is earned when you earn a specified amount on the multiplier index, the second star is earned by making a specified amount of matches within a specified time, and the third star is earned when you remove all tiles from the field.
After each level, you will receive items that allow you to create the Amulet you need in order to progress. Coins are earned as you remove tiles, and also earned as a treasure chest fills which is time-based. Bonuses are added that can be purchased (just click on the bonus to the right to purchase) with the coins earned. The Help bonus will outline matches for a brief period, the Bomb bonus removes a portion of tiles and the Undo bonus will undo the last move.
As you progress, Bonus Tiles are added to the field such as a Timer which adds time to the clock when they are matched. You will also unlock different tile styles, I rather enjoyed the Cats style where all the tiles have different Cats, pawprints, wind-up mice and goldfish.
This is just an okay game for me personally. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't purchase it even with a PCC. It was fun to play the demo, but towards the end, I became bored with doing the same thing over and over. I think this game would appeal to more players if it had a Relaxed, untimed option.
I don't recommend this game.

Those rascally little penguins have discovered a Treasure Map in their backyard, and you know what that means...it's time to set out on another Fantasy Mosaic adventure!
Fantasy Mosaics has been around for a long time, and I have a feeling that our grandkids will be playing the new releases someday. I would love to see a little more of a storyline, one that was told a little at a time after each level, rather than just getting a new Garden item. I would also enjoy a few new features added, the locked colors are okay, but surely one doesn't need 28 versions of a game with the same basic features. Fantasy Mosaics is an excellent series though, but I think I enjoy the Rainbow Mosaics games just a tad bit more (sorry Mr. Penguin)
The Locked Colors have returned, where some of the colors aren't available until you uncover Keys by filling in certain cells. This feature would be awesome, but it seems that the puzzles are far too easy since this feature was added.
They have also added a choice of 5 different tile sets, ranging in color vibrancy and styles. This feature has been standard within the Rainbow Mosaics series which offers twice as many, including unusual shapes like lego pieces, and they have a solid storyline throughout the game, so FM has some competition. The Eye feature has returned, which allows you to hide the grid to get a look at the puzzle without all the lines, and they added a reset icon too.
Fantasy Mosaics 1-4 only offered single colored puzzles, and the introduction of 6 colors wasn't introduced until FM 16, and really with the exception of adding the Stars for not using Hints within the last few games, they are a bit slow to give FM fans new options.
You can earn a Gold trophy if you make no mistakes, a Silver trophy if you make one mistake and a Bronze trophy if you make two mistakes. You will also earn up to three gold Stars if you don't use any hints, one star is deducted each time you use a hint. Therefore, it is possible to make a mistake or two but still earn 3 stars as long as you don't use any available hints.
The game may seem complicated if you're new to this genre, but it really is an easy game to learn. There are groups of numbers located on each column and row of the grid, each group of numbers must be separated by at least one blank or crossed off cell. Sometimes it's easier to figure out where numbers can't possibly fit to reduce the number of cells and narrow the playing field down a bit. Some cells contain bonuses such as extra hints, extra mistakes allowed or an extra pickax which allows you to choose which cell you want a hint on. There is a Sun icon as well that when fully charged, will give you a mega-hint, filling in or crossing off a 3x3 area of your choice.
I'm still a fan of the Fantasy Mosaics series, they are always based upon logic, which isn't always the case with similar games. The pictures are always easily recognized, and they always seem to come up with a wide range of colors, so happy griddling and enjoy!

I made it to chapter 4 when it dawned on me that I was simply playing this game to be playing a game, blindly going through the mundane motions. I wasn't on the edge of my seat, the storyline wasn't holding my attention, and every task, every progression I made in the game was uneventful and predictable, I didn't even have to think about what I was doing, so what's the point of continuing?
I will say that the CE Missions were a little more interesting than I originally thought. I wasn't impressed with the buying of outfits, but I did find the mission portion rather unique. If you don't like reading, it won't interest you, but basically, you read the sentence about the mission and choose the dialog box. The missions continue with a sentence and more choices (do you follow him, do you interact with him scenario) I failed the mission a couple of times and had to choose a different scenario. I liked the interactiveness, and I wish this was a feature offered as the main game, not just a small mission, but one where my choices actually have an effect on the game, which would make for great replayability (such as Bad Dream: Coma) Here's a recap of my review to help you decide which version, if either, is right for you:
It's no secret that I'm not a fan of Amax (formerly ERS) because the relevance of their game series has diminished. The hand-drawn graphics and whitewashed appearance of their earlier games became dated, and the storylines repetitive. But things are improving with each game released by Amax lately. The crude graphics are being replaced with CG graphics, and it's apparent that Amax is going to great lengths to introduce different aspects and features, seeing what works and what doesn't, and isn't that what we want? Don't we want a developer to step outside the box? I'd much rather see a developer try something that doesn't work or isn't liked than to try nothing at all! That is exactly why some devs continue to spew out one identical game after the other, giving birth to the Cookie Cutter games we have today. Because they bother to try, I will bother to notice.

The Collector's Edition version didn't float my boat so to speak, the Collectible Crystal Apples in itself aren't bad, but using them as currency to buy Costumes is just kind of stupid and worthless. I'd much rather see a Morphing Object in this genre, including Beyond skeletons or shadow creatures which seems more of a fit than a crystal apple doesn't it? As I said in my update above, the outfit feature is kind of lame but I was totally impressed with the "missions"
The Hidden Object Scenes are far and few between, although some of the Mini Games qualify as HOP's such as finding symbols, and vice versus, some HOP's qualify as MG's. There are Keywords in Sentence finds, Multiples of the same items, (using a torch in a dark room) Finding Pairs of Related items, and standard List items. There are no alternative games available. I've always wondered why devs don't have HOP alternatives for Mini Games, and Mini Games as an alternative to HOP's. It seems to me that this is an easy fix, and would bring joy to fans of either MG's or HOP's......oh how I wish I could create one of these games lol!
There are a ton of Mini Games available, and I found many to be creative, and enjoyable. I'm not a fan of games where moving 1 affects others, but thankfully, this feature is used sparingly this time. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Guide tokens along a track to matching slot shapes.
2) Click when balls of various speed are in green zones.
3) Click tentacles to correct positions, 1 affects others.
4) Drag tokens so all elements are placed correctly.
5) Release all skeleton fingers, 1 affects others.
6) Select 1 token on each knight to recreate symbols on clue.
7) Navigate through the catacomb maze.
8) Bend sections on a wire to match the lock teeth.
9) Repeat the sequence of Musketeers shown.
10) Move the token through the path w/out touching the sides.
11) Use a magnet to locate Nails, magnet vibrates when near.
12) Select unbroken tiles in each scrolling column.
13) Swap bookbinders to recreate the image.
14) Place pins to match vertical & horizontal clues.
15) Find 4 matching symbols for each symbol shown.
16) Rotate or swap tokens to recreate each symbol shown.
The Collector's Edition has 5 Wallpapers, 11 Concept Art pictures, 5 Screensavers, 4 Music Soundtracks, 27 Movie Videos, 12 re-playable Mini Games, 15 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Achievements to earn, Collectible Crystal Apples to purchase 3 different costumes for 3 missions, 5 Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built -in Strategy Guide.

fromOriginally, Elephant was developing a dark fairy tale game with no HO's, 70% through, they realized their mistake and Mystery Trackers: The Void was born! Elf didn't join the team until Black Isle!

Professor Xiao had been working on a Space-time continuum theory for quite some time, only to hit a brick wall dead-end every time. He nearly gave up on the project altogether, when an unfortunate tragedy killed his brother and his wife, leaving behind their only daughter Sophie. The Professor soon realized that Sophie was no ordinary 13-year-old child, she was a child prodigy! After earning her Masters-degree, Sophie was able to solve the problems the Professor couldn't, and they were on the verge of a major discovery when something went horribly wrong. Blackhill is now engulfed in a strange and ominous mist, something evil lurks within The Mist Over Blackhill, something deadly!
I was asked whether or not I wanted to take Elf with me on my investigation! Okay, I'll admit that some helpers are annoying and unnecessary, but we're talking about Elf! Mystery Trackers and Elf are one and the same and he has been by my side since Black Isles, YES I want to take Elf with me! MT is a series that I fell in love with immediately. I didn't discover this series until Four Aces was released, and I loved it so much, I played the previous games back to back. One of the reason's I loved it was because there's something about Elephant's graphics that give you a certain feeling or realism, a sense that something bad has happened, a creepy vibe in an abandoned town. I also loved the Morphing Objects and hope they never do away with this staple feature!
I have a couple of legitimate gripes with Mist Over Blackhill however, one story-related, the other Collector's Edition related. As far as a CE version, the abundance of bling is good (although I'm not going to humiliate Elf by dressing him up as a baby or forcing him to play bongos) but 3 small chapters, really? No re-playable puzzles or HOP's, really? Now as far as the storyline goes, they broke the number one cardinal rule in a truly frightening plot, NEVER SHOW THE MONSTER! (especially if the monster is a black cartoon fog monster!) Wouldn't it have more of an impact if you DIDN'T know what was lurking in the fog? If victims were snatched by unseen forces and you never know when and where? (btw the answer is yes)
The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with Silhouetted Shape finds, Morphing Object finds, Keywords in sentence finds, finding 3 bottles to open up the Interactive List finds, and Combination finds where you find items that are the result of 2 pictures combined (watering can + seeds = a plant or flower) and there are small Zoom Zone HOP's where you search for 6 items in a Zoom Zone. I found some of the scenes to be blurry and some items unrecognizable, especially when trying to figure out what pictures were on the combo drawings.
The Mini-Games are my favorite kind, for the most part, I love the "tinkering" type puzzles where you set gauges and tinker with lights etc. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Replicate the pattern of lights shown, 1 affects others.
2) Rotate center crest and slide outer frags to complete crest.
3) Swap tiles to create a path that allows current to flow.
4) Rotate discs until all dots fill the holes.
5) Press buttons to arrange the voltage shown on the clues.
6) Swap tiles to match the pattern shown.
7) Swap tokens w/direction/moves to guide tile past wolf tiles.
8) Swap images to restore the picture.
This Collector's Edition version has 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 4 Music Soundtracks, a Secret Room, an Album to assemble 4 puzzles with 32 collected Picture Fragments, 19 Achievements to Earn, 24 Morphing Objects, 12 hidden Elf Outfits (Musician, Cook, Writer, Baby, Santa Claus, Ninja, Soldier, Clown, Magician, Astronaut, Athlete, Firefighter) 3 Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide, enjoy...and say YES to ELF!
