I would have preferred animation but the artistry of the characters and VOs were good. The investigation is done in two modes, past and present. You must collect the wolves' eyes to pass from present to past. There is a map which guides you from scene to scene by telling you that tasks need to be completed in the area. Most of the puzzles were a bit annoying. HOs were good, clear with some items smaller than others. Hint recharges quickly but skip button takes much longer. There is a penalty for random clicking with Holmes stating "Don't be too hasty". LOL You also have to collect Coat of Arms pieces in order to place in the portraits to dispel the curse. You also need to collect 5 powers which you can use in the scenes for additional help. All in all, a great game!
I did not complete this game because of total frustation. Constantly jumping from one scene to the other was annoying. There is a map but I didn't find it very helpful. The hint button would say search elsewhere. The storyline was good and so were the VOs and animation (or was it live actors?) I had many inventory items that I couldn't use because they were incomplete. I seemed to have done more scene hopping then anything else. Too much brain strain for me.
I don't recommend this game.

Mystic Legacy: The Great Ring
Uncover the dark legacy hidden within a Romanian castle to save your friend from an evil spirit!
I feel I got less than I expected. There was little animation and no VOs. HOs and puzzles galore. The ending lead me to believe there will be a sequel but I sincerely hope the DEV will make much needed improvements. The hint button recharged quickly and tells you what to do next. You will be going from scene to scene but there is a map and, also, a journal. You have to collect lions in each scene but I'm still not clear on why. The storyline is a subject I enjoy but it didn't hold my interest. Perhaps I shouldn't be trying to play two games at the same time, going from one to the other. LOL
After playing the other 2 Twisted Lands games, I was looking forward to Origin. A little disappointed about the ending. Perhaps I did miss something. The scenes were the usual jumping around but the hint not only refilled quickly but acted as a guide to get from place to place. HOs were the usual, some objects small and harder to find. Loved the animation and VOs. Can't comment on the music because I wasn't paying much attention. The puzzles were good, some harder than others. I didn't get to see what I thought would the results of the experiments. Had to use my imagination but it would have been great to actually SEE it.
Played this game for about two hours and that was it for me. The VOs are good and there is a map. You have to collect gold coins along the way but I'm not sure of the purpose. Guess I wasn't too involved. Some area are lock because you need either a gold or silver key. The HOs are not really HOs at all. It consists of finding pieces of items. Not my idea of a hidden object game. Dull!
This game was fantastic including the bonus game play!!! Live actors, plenty of HOs and puzzles to satisfy everyone. I always play on casual mode. You have to find crow runes along the way to access items that are too high for you to reach. The hint button recharges at a good speed and outside the HOs, will tell you search elsewhere. There is a lot of jumping from scene to scene. Some of the music was a bit annoying but I use a headset and turned down the volume. Most of the music was appropriate for the storyline. If you're a Redemption Cemetery fan, you'll love this game!!! Looking forward to the next one.
I recommend this game!

TO ME, SAME CASES AS THE LOST CASES OF SHERLOCK HOLMES
In the Lost Cases of 221B Baker St., there were repeat stories from the previous game, a huge disappointment. Thought I was getting all NEW cases. In the first game, you had to collect Holmes' hat. In the 221B, you have to collect his pipe. Same old in many ways.
Thought I'd give this game a second chance but became just as frustrated as the first time around. I was sure I was coming to the conclusion but was stuck somewhere in Chapter 5 with no way out. HOs were murky. Some VOs, some animation. Hint button was a little slow to refill and as a guide, it just said search elsewhere. I did about a hundred times but got nowhere fast. I must have messed up somewhere along the line. Must have used the walkthrough a hundred times but couldn't find solutions. I grew weary of jumping from scene to scene accomplishing nothing. No fun.
This game started out promising with animation and VOs but sort of declined after a while. While the storyline and surprise ending were good, I somehow felt shortchanged. For the most part, the characters were like still photos. The animation and VO seems to apply to the maid only, not the rest of the characters. HOs and puzzles were good. The visuals were good. Didn't pay much attention to the music. The hint button does fill quickly and acts as sort of a guide mostly saying there is nothing more to do here. Be sure to collect gold coins along the way for purchasing items. The HOs contain fans to use as hint refills. I'd check out the trial beforehand.
A new breed of virus has spread throughout the City of Oxford. You must search the city for a missing girl who holds the key to stopping the global epidemic!
Just finished playing this game and wanted to do this review while it was still fresh in my mind. This game was superb! The use of live actors and VOs were top notch. There was a map but it didn't transport me anywhere. The hint button refilled quickly and was also my guide from scene to scene. The IHOs were different than other games I've played. There are two lists - one for obtaining the items and another for using the items you've found. You can easily switch from one to the other and items were quickly used and didn't leave you wondering "Where does this thing go?" There is jumping from scene to scene but the hint button will guide you quickly. Congrats to the DEVS for their innovations in this game. It met all my expectations and more. Hope to see a sequel soon. Give it a try and happy gaming. :|)
