Review is based from memory on completed game I had purchased on a CD about two or three years ago. LOL
As I started to play this game last night, the house with the spirits at the gate seemed familiar to me. Also, the name Jessie Bodeen and the story she has to tell, which is a doozy by the way if my memory serves me correctly. ;-D I do remember I enjoyed the game which is why I'm submitting this strange review. Can't really comment on much but I do remember what was in store for Jessie which I plan to keep to myself. Buy and enjoy!! Happy gaming!

Animation/VOS - Excellent
IHOS - Hate to sound like a broken record (LOL) but the usual variety of small to larger objects, light to darker areas. Can't remember if scenes were repeated.
Hint - Quick recharge, gives clues and directions.
Map - Does transport.
Misclick Penalty - None
Puzzles/Mini-Games - Fun and challenging. Skip charges quickly.
Inventory - Items used fast in various locations.
You meet various creatures in your travels that you must either defeat or appease them. Loved my little helper, Terrance. :-D
Must have good pair of running shoes even with the help of the hint and map. Many locations to search with repeats.
Bonus Chapter - Most of the above but with a very special person.
For lovers of all genres, give this game a whirl. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

The live actors, vos not just for the actors but for the player as well. Text dialogue appears of course but the vos made it more realistic than just reading.
IHOS - You must leave the scene to search for other items then go back to the hos or the sparkles will continue until it's completed. There are two lists, one for inventory and one for items in hos. HOS are fairly clear and bright with moderately sized items to larger.
Misclick Penalty - None
Hint - Moderate recharge, acts as a guide and gives clues.
Puzzles/Mini-Games - Interesting and challenging. Skip button charges quickly.
There are collectibles and achievements.

Review based on incomplete game because I had reached my wit's end. Use of live actors were good when they appeared; same with vos. Too much (for me) reading. Most of the scenes are back and forth searches, combining inventory items with HOS. The HOS will continue to sparkle because an item is needed from another location. You will have two lists - inventory and ho and you must switch between the two. Map does transport to previous locations but not to areas with a question mark. There is no misclick penalty. Hint charges fairly quickly and gives instructions and directions and believe me, it's needed. Many of you will enjoy the challenge but I found it to be frustrating. I play these games for relaxation and enjoyment, not to wind up with a migraine. Give it a trial run. It may be just the game for you. For those of you who love a good challenge, I will recommend the game. It just wasn't for me.

Really did enjoy this game despite the fact that two features were missing - animation and vos. Judging from the ending, a sequel may be in the works?? If it is, listen up, devs! PLEASE put in the animation and vos.

I believe I may have been getting close to completing this game but just couldn't take anymore. No IHOS to speak of list -wise, just shapes of objects and picking up items along the way in each scene. No walkthrough. Hint button does tell you where to go next but that means tons of back tracking. If you have an excellent memory, not a problem for some players. Boring.
I don't recommend this game.
