Review based on completed game and part of bonus chapter. Animation - Stilted. With today's technology (that Walt Disney didn't have), computerized animation should be similar to live actors with facial features and body motions moving fluidly. Come on, devs, you can do it!!! :-D VOS - Excellent IHOS - Clearer than some I've seen. Usual fare of small to larger objects. Hint - Fast recharge, gives clues and directions Map - Does transport Journal - Contains objectives, map, story, notes, etc. Random Click Penalty - None Collectibles, achievements, etc. as expected in a CE. Puzzles/Mini-Games - Unique and challenging Bonus Chapter - Same as above so I didn't bother to finish it. Good game for the bells and whistles lovers. :-D Enjoy!!!

I will repeat what another reviewer wrote: Not an HOS but plays like one. Objects must still be collected in each scene that goes into your inventory. Hint - Fast recharge, gives clues and directions. Animation/Avatars/VOS - Excellent!!! Listen up, devs!! THIS is how a game should be designed! The characters should look almost human in appearance and move with fluidity which I refer to as avatars, except of course when there are live actors. :-D. Diary - Collect pages to complete story. Puzzles/Mini-Games - Unique and challenging. Even managed to solve a few. Inventory - Objects used fairly quickly in other locations. There are some scrolling scenes from left to right but from what I can remember, not many. There is a twist to the story in the end and I expect a sequel. So fishies, throw the net in and scoop this one up. Enjoy!!!

Review based on completed game in casual mode not including bonus chapter. Animation/VOS - Excellent IHOS - Combo of dark and light scenes and small to larger objects. Repeated. Random Click Penalty - None Map - Does transport but I used the hint button to get around. Hint - Fast recharge, gives clues and directions. Journal - Contains story, news clippings, sketches, notes, etc. Inventory - Objects used fairly quickly in various locations. Built-in SG, collectibles, beyond/morphing objects, achievements, etc. Great deal of traveling from one area to another. Started to play the bonus chapter but didn't complete it. More of the above. I shall stick to SE games in the future. Guess I become too impatient with longer games and they become tedious after a while. I know many fishies out there love the CE versions for the bell and whistles. Give it a try. You may enjoy it.

Review based on completed game in casual mode. Animation - A little disappointing. Would have preferred more. VOS - Excellent. Was great having a vo for the player. Thank you devs!!! I know some reviewers found it irritating when Elisa commented on everything. :-D HOS - Varied sized objects as is the norm in most games. A combo of clear to dark scenes. Repeated. Could have done without the "Uhhhh" every time an object is found. Annoying. Random Click Penalty - None. Thank goodness or I wouldn't have been able to find some objects in the darker scenes but don't despair - I'll be getting new glasses this week. :-D Hint - Fast recharge, gives clues and directions. You have the option to replay chapters. Journal - Contains the usual info. Collect puzzle pieces along the way but you'll have no idea why until the end. Map - None that I could see. Didn't do a very good job of taking notes as I played this game. Makes this review sound vague. Puzzles/Mini-Games - Not as many as the HOS but unusual. Fast skip. If you're an HO lover, you will enjoy this one and it is quite an adventure. My cat, Quinton, leaped on my desk while I was engrossed in a spooky scene. I jumped out of my skin. LOL So throw in your net and haul this one in. Happy gaming!!!
When the entire audience disappears from a film screening at an old theater, you must go behind the scenes to find out who is running the mysterious Nightmare Cinema.
Review based on completed game including bonus chapter. Animation/VOS - Excellent even for player in some scenes. IHOS - Clear to dark in some areas. Objects are usual fare of small to larger items. There are HOS within IHOS including beyond/morphing objects. Repeated scenes. Random Click Penalty - None Hint - Fast recharge, gives clues and directions. Map - Does transport but I seem to be a hint button gal. :-D Puzzles/Mini-Games - Very unique, not the usual sliders or circles types. Skip charges fast. A few cannot be skipped so I had to use the SG to find the answer. Collectibles, beyond/morphing objects, achievements, etc. Diary - Contains photos, clues, documents, etc. Screenplay contains portal. Bonus Chapter - Basically more of the above but with a twist. If you've played the previous Fear for Sale games, you will enjoy this one in all its glory. So give it a try and enjoy!

Review based on completed game and bonus chapter. By the way, I have a habit of writing my review in a notebook as I play. If I didn't, I know I wouldn't remember most of it. :-D Animation - Not as much as I thought. Only facial expressions. Characters were beautifully and realistically drawn and should have moved. VOS - Excellent; for player as well in some scenes. IHOS - Extremely unusual. Never saw this type in any other games I've played. While in each scene searching for objects, when you click on a clock (one scene was an hourglass), it transports you to another area to look for different objects, two hos in one. One will be darker yet basic with some small well concealed items, repeated but challenging. Not your run of the mill IHOS. Collect special abilities along the way. Journal - Records island history, videos that can be replayed, amulet charge chart, story, photos, etc. Random Click Penalty - None Map - Does transport but I preferred using the hint. Hint - Recharges quickly, gives clues and directions. Puzzles/Mini-Games - Very unique and challenging. Can be skipped except one, I believe. Kept clicking until I found the right combination. :-D Built-In SG - Had to check it out a few times. Inventory - Objects used fairly quickly in other locations. Bonus Chapter - This storyline did not, to me, end conclusively so I believe a sequel is forthcoming. For a CE, there should have been closure. There is a great deal of back tracking and I almost gave up but I did manage to hang in there because of the ending but as I stated above, the ending was a disappointment. I must say that Daniel is a total babe. :-D I am recommending this game because I believe lovers of all genres will enjoy it so throw in that line and reel this one in. Happy gaming!!!

Review based on completed game and bonus chapter. VOS - Good but not for player. Text dialogue to read. ANIMATION - Not as much as I had hoped for. Characters are realistically drawn. Pity they don't move much. Facial expressions and mouth are in sync with vos. Saw more animation from the cloaked figure. Hint - Fast recharge, gives clues and directions Random Click Penalty - None Puzzles/Mini-Games - Good, solved a few and skipped a few IHOS - As in most games, various sized objects, some well concealed. Found these to be the best I've seen in a long time and easy on the eyes for a change. Journal - Contains notes, objectives and map (does not transport). I used the hint button to get me from place to place Inventory - Objects used fairly quickly in other locations. Didn't notice any morphing/beyond objects, etc. because I'm not interested in these anyway. Just picked up the objects inside and outside the IHOS. Bonus Chapter - More of the above but with a twist in the end. By the way, Officer Frombald is a total babe. :-D
Review based on about 4 hours of gameplay in casual mode. I became bored with the constant back tracking even with the map and hint. Live Actors/VOS - Excellent when they showed. I saw mostly skeletons BUT the skeletons had VOS. LOL Map - Does transport Hint - Fast recharge, gives clues and directions IHOS - Usual fare of small to larger objects. Some well concealed Misclick Penalty - None The usual collectables, etc. I should really stay away from CEs but I've played some that were superb and held my interest from beginning to end. This game does not fall into that category. For those of you in gameland who prefer the bells and whistles of a CE, I will recommend this game. It just wasn't for me.
Based on about 2 hours gameplay. I found the scenes gray and dull. Too many pop-ups. Not fond of tasks or objectives lists. Animation - Very little in the beginning. VOS - Were good at the start when the bride was telling her story then she became silent. The Silent Bride would have been a better title. IHOS - Usual junk piles but a tad clearer than others I've seen. Misclick Penalty - None I could see where this game was heading with back tracking, looking for items in one area to use in another. Locations, to me, were dark. Again, headache-inducing and eye strain. Wanted to like this game and find out what happened to hubby and who the girl was.
Review based on three hours of gameplay because I became bored and started getting a headache. That being said, here is my review: Animation/Avatars - Excellent VOS - Excellent. Player actually has a vo in addition to text at the beginning and whatever point I got to in 3 hours. :-D IHOS - One word - DARK, small to larger object junk piles. Misclick Penalty - None. Was grateful for that because if I hadn't random clicked all over the screen I wouldn't have been able to find half of the objects on the list. Hint - Fast recharge, gives clues and directions. Map - Does transport, also dark, almost grayish in appearance. Journal - The usual notes, clues, story, characters, etc. Puzzles/Mini-Games - Unique. Have never seen these in other games. Even managed to solve a few. Skip button is fast. More time spent back tracking to various locations to find items needed in other areas to complete a puzzle/mini-game/potion. The usual collectibles, achievements, etc. as is expected in a CE. Every scene was dark and a strain on my eyes. I will recommend this game for the other features only if you have young eyes, don't wear glasses and enjoy running around in all directions. The brightness on my pc was set to its highest level. I was really anxious to know what happened to these young ladies and why but reached my limit.
