An excellent mystery game from one of my favorite devs. Morph and collectible in every scene. Plot is pretty standard, but the attitude that “Detective Rick” who has a helpful attitude and is full of wisecracking quips, (as opposed to so many who go into shock, angst or whatever when they find paranormal events that they actually went looking for) adds a humorous tone which I really like and led to the title of this review: "Creepy Light".
The villain is pretty obvious from the get go, and she is truly an evil one. Poor ravens again get snagged for the job of evil rep.
The light tone and quickly moving game makes it seem shorter than it actually is. The h/o & morphs in each scene are represented by a little chalice on the map. As Penmom say,s it helps to study the scene and find the collectibles BEFORE scanning the mouse over the scene, as sometimes you will accidentally pass over them and the hand gives it away. (I do wish they had an option to use or not use the “clue hands” like they do if you don't want sparkles in a HOS.
The sequel involves his first “case” and is well done as well, with a connected story, but a totally new case.
This very likable game is Totally worth a CE price. I highly recommend this Elephant game! I'm looking forward to more in this series:)
PS I especially enjoyed the pachyderm puzzle with Elephant tooting it's own horn (or trunk maybe)!
I know this already has a solid 5 rating but I must add my 2 cents;)
This game presents another culture that I am, for the most part, ignorant of, and presented it in a very accessible manner.
But the best thing about this game is the reinventing of how HOS work. Sometimes you cannot finish a hos in the box, but have to go Outside The Box to complete it! Not everything is as it seems. There were so many discoveries I can't remember them all; what I do remember is NEVER being bored or thinking I had to repeat the same old sequences I've done in other HOGs.(Hidden Object Games) And the story is truly universal; about the love for a mother for her child. And it doesn't pull any punches, making the the mother or the child perfect.
Don't necessarily expect high reviews from folks who like puzzles more than hops: this game is truly for HOG lovers. The puzzles it did have, for me, were solvable, which probably means they weren't as difficult as some would like.
The art was painterly and filled with what looked to me like "Indian" art. (As I said, I'm no expert; wish players in India would chime in:) Get this game! If you are a HOG lover (that doesn't sound nice does it, but still...) you will love it!
An excellent "who dunnit", Lots of nice little twists. The morphs are tricky: some in the HOS’s and some scattered about. I found all but one of them, and got all but one of the owls. In the case of the owls, after you play the bonus game you can go back and find missed ones. But the morphs are a challenge! I found it chilling the amount of deaths of old friends, which are heroine didn't seem to be bothered by - that was pretty chilling in itself. Some of the horror isn't in the game but in the ideas behind it. The bonus is a fill in on how we were able to “solve” the mystery at all. Nicely done and I enjoyed this game:)
I loved this game set in the early 20th century with cameo's of a young Albert Einstein and Coco Chanel.
Excellent story line, mostly do-able puzzles, decent variety of HOS. Most of the scenes appear to be handpainted in acrylic or water color and are well done. I liked our cheeky heroine, and with heroic if rather bumbling Albert they were a fun pair.
I may go back and purchase the CE version, if it has more of the story...it left us stranded, sort of.

This is absolutely Elephant Games at it's best. I've always loved the Mystery Tracker Series, and it seems they have got a second wind. Great story line which was on target throughout the game. For those who don't care for pet assistants (I like 'em:) you can choose to work without Elf, the little chihuahua sidekick. 'Course then you will miss out on collecting cute outfits for him. ...which depending on your view can be good or bad;) The voice overs were excellent, although I did get a little tired of our young scientist's high voice, but still, consistent with the character. The HOS were good, even mixing it up a bit and looking for morphing objects occasionally. As noted by a few sharp observers, there ARE re-playable HOS and puzzles, 'tho I don't usually do them. In the case of Elephant Games I always replay, and don't want to solve the puzzles to easily:) I rarely do this, but I'm going to recommend purchasing the CE version of this game as you learn more about the new adversaries (see above) and it rounds off the game nicely.
I really like this game. Firstly because as another viewer as said it is not "cookie cutter" The HOS have a lot of different variants, which keeps your interest up; some I've not seen before in other games. The collectible is "only" a gift box, and most are easy, but I missed a few that were really well hidden, and some because I got so caught up in the game I forgot to look. Fortunately, after you finish the bonus game it lets you go back and find them. Also the "Secret Room" in the extras has a nice twist in making you do more to find the objects and most were cleverly hidden! I'm glad I got the CE, but even an SE version would be good, because there is some first class sleuthing here. Occasionally you get to switch identities between the husband and wife protagonist, which worked very well. There were a couple of great red herrings too! The graphics were well done and true to the time period. I also loved the old timey map which was drawn like a tourist map:)
A mysterious plague casts a dark shadow on the people of Persia. The young apothecary Tara must discover the cause of the illness before it's too late!

This is a wonderful SE game, with a fresh look at a (for me) unfamiliar culture. The young people's dialog shows a respect and equality that doesn't overpower you with male/female angst. They just work together well. I hope that the whole game will reflect this. The story line is ancient of course, but for me the winner is the mutual respect and skills of both protagonists. This is a winner!
This game kept my interest up all the way through. There were lots of collectibles, some easy some hard. The HOS were varied which made them entertaining and not the same old same old.
There is a map which makes it quicker to get around, and most of the puzzles were doable for me (I'm not great at puzzles) but when I couldn't do them I could skip.
The bonus chapter was just as well done, and one of the longest bonus chapters I've seen.
I really like this "hidden city" concept, and hope they will do more. I highly recommend this game!
This game starts off as hard SF, but soon all chaos is breaking loose. The story was all over the place from buccaneers and pirating to SF take over the world baddies. But somehow I kept playing, and ended up enjoying the game. They did allow you to pick up whichever morphing object or sigil you missed, which is always a plus. And the bonus story was much more straightforward and cohesive, and with the extras was worth it as a CE. I will enjoy playing this game a second time, now that I (sort of) know what is going on.
I recommend this game!

Insane Cold: Back to the Ice Age
An amulet purchased in an antique shop has awakened an ancient and terrible evil. Help rescue your beloved and save mankind from the coming eternal frost!
I absolutely loved this game. A true HOG/Adventure. The stilted graphics were awkward, but the story telling and pace were superb. I wish there were a CE version! There were dozens of places I could see collectibles being!
Although I have to admit I had to wait for a warm day to play this game. Very chilling!
