Looks like it would be a good game, but my game even after deleting and reinstalling froze as the game started with a dialog box that said collect hidden items or something. It wouldn't go away and I couldn't progress in the game. Hopefully BF will come up with a fix, otherwise this game is, sadly, doomed.

Absolutely outstanding game. A rich panoply of drawings and objects to look at, multiple levels of game and so complex that it will definitely be a game to play over and over again! Most of the puzzles are medium and the HOS are plentiful and varied. This is going to be one of my classics!
I recently purchased this game, although I had it in SE version. It seems odd that the addition of morphs and sea creatures to collect would make a game better, but these were well hidden, mostly and a nice challenge that kept the game moving at a brisker pace. Also, the bonus game was a sequel and quite as well done and long! I dislike bonus games that are prequels, as I feel I already know the story and it's a let down to have to retrace stuff. The story line was excellent with enough mystery and surprises to keep you interested; and you actually liked your characters! There was plenty of HOS (and the puzzles were mostly do-able by me ;) but were quickly skipped if one wished, and you didn't have to wait around. (The skip time was as low as 10 seconds, enough time to try the puzzle and get engaged with it if I was going to at all) I loved the art work and the sea motif. There was even one fragmented hos, which is plenty - you don't want to over do that stuff! An all round superior game that I highly recommend.
I admit, I was a bit dubious when I saw they had "remastered" an old game. My experience has been this is never a good move. But much to my astonishment, this game blew me away! It is long, maybe even longer than the original game and that includes a superb (and long!) bonus chapter. The story line kept a nice pace, and I have to admit those little sprites were quite difficult to find...until you knew where they were! I missed four out of the 70 something, but this game allows you to go back and find them, which I find very nice.
If you are a newbie and want to see the quality of the games that can be made with time, a good dev and creative people, I highly recommend this game. Interesting puzzles, fun and complicated HOS. I did think the ending was a little abrupt, but I'm hoping this means a sequel? :) Well worth the investment as one of the best games of the last two years.
Absolutely outstanding mystery who done-it. The first part was sadly, and typically these days, very short, but was lots of fun following the clues and winding up the case. I found it amusing that they threw in more than one collectible per scene, which made me laugh. The second story was terrific with no murder but a clearly mysterious clue to follow up on, when a young man’s grandpa leaves him a key, but he doesn’t have a clue how to solve it, but goes along with you on the search. Very well done indeed, and worth the wait. I'm with several others on the confusion as where this came from, but what ever, I'm hoping our long time devs will soon have a safe and prosperous place to continue their lives and also to continue giving us great games. And for those who dissed the game as boring: no this isn't a blockbuster game, but it is well done, and if you are so addicted to getting the latest/grossest/drama filled/techno game, you do have a problem when the rest of the world is trying to survive. Lighten up.

Contrary to quite a few reviews,I loved this game, and consider it one of the best of the series. It was more human and had relatable bad guys, who in some cases weren’t bad a’tall. I actually even played the secret room, which is one of the things I hated about this games “extras”.
Also I found you could go back and find missing objects, which I’ve always thought should be included automatically in any game. I just finished binge playing the whole series so I'm clear in my head what was good/poor about each game. It is basically a good series that gradually brings James as the lead into the picture. The games move briskly and there is always something to look for. The map helps a lot, by not taking you directly to the solution but only the area where you need to focus. Even if you haven't played any of the series, this would be a good game as it's pretty self explanatory. And I always like a good wedding!
I originally bought this in the SE version, in 2013! but probably couldn't figure it out and hadn't played it since then. When I went back to it I realized, in this case, the CE version is very necessary. You need the Strategy Guide (at least I did) to figure out the complex order of the game. Also the Bonus chapter ties up all the loose ends. Now, playing a 9 year old game on a current PC can be a bit of a challenge, but I found it things froze up, all I needed to do was close and reboot my 'puter and go on. Also this is _very_ detailed oriented. In looking for the coins in the main game, take your time and search every inch! They are there, just very cleverly hidden. Also in the main game there are so many rooms you must return to that the map didn't really help - that's where the hint button helped. This is a game one needs to take one's time with... sometimes in clicking around I found something I wasn't even looking for, but needed later! Also in the bonus game you are give a magnifying glass which paints handprints, or "spectre paint" as I call it, around a room where you should look more closely. You need to use the glass until the marks appear even when you take the glass away. Once a puzzle wouldn't start and I went back and just held the glass over an area 'til I heard a sort of sizzle, and when I took the glass away the marks remained. And finally, the music was outstanding, very evocative. (I usually turn off the music soon into the game as it proves distracting.) I highly, highly recommend this game for experienced players. Not really a game for beginners, or folks with no patience;)

Astonishingly good and fresh game from An absolutely top notch dev team. They seemed to really work hard at not using the same old tropes, finding ever changing ways to find to do things. The HOPS were creative and focused, the story line excellent and multilayered. The final “bonus” game tied up all the lose ends and gave a creep who preyed on women for money his just due. I liked the first wife’s line: “It was never about revenge, but about justice.” I highly recommend this game and double kudos to the devs for upping the ante in this 13th(!) game of the series:)
This is one of my favorites of the series. Stunning fresh look at alien worlds and out of the box thinking. Totally awesome pictures and layout of scenes, with very imaginative worlds and objects to look at, a feast for the eyes. There was a lot of variations in the HOS as well. The Extra’s delivered 3 sets of HOS from other games (which you find during the game. I found 3 there might have been more. In the extra’s they allow you to go back and find stuff you missed, which is awesome as then you are free to keep your mind on the game. Also in the Extras Section the search for souvenirs was taken up a couple of notches by making the search go through and follow two or even three clicks in order to find the object, like opening a box that opens something else that leads you to the item. I agree with others who say these devs from Ukraine deserve our support just to keep alive the wonderful talent that is there, not to mention just common human decency. It is very clear who is the enemy here, and it is not the people of these areas.
Anyway the game is top notch! As usual I can't comment on the puzzles as I skipped a good many, due to sparse directions. I'll try to do more using the guide when I replay. But even without the puzzles this is a long and wondrous game. If you don't have it, download and try, I think you will be pleased:)
Just finished the CE version of this game and I quite enjoyed it. Lovely art, with nice coloring (no purple sets or neon wizards) The voice overs were good, although only the leprechaun had a brogue, and it was a bit disconcerting listening to someone read lines straight out of the Midwest, but at least they were clear, well done and not mispronounced. The HOS were varied and fun to look at all the different objects. The morphs and foxes in each scene were fun to find and not too easy peasy; I had to really search for them. I also liked the story line where there were no villains, just beings whose story you didn't know and when you did you could understand where they were coming from; and no simplistic love story - and you're allowed to pick who you would choose to marry! I highly recommend this game.
