This game is great! You return to a summer camp you attended as a child because you are having nightmares about that summer and some children that disappeared. You return in an effort to remember what happened and resolve the nightmares. The camp is abandoned.....or is it?
Game play is a combination of HOS and mini games. The HOS are interactive, which adds to the fun. The mini games are fun. The graphics, voice overs and cut scenes are excellent. The music is not too intrusive, which I appreciate. You earn trophies as you play. The SG is excellent and is a nice bonus of the CE. The ending is satisfying and the bonus chapter adds a new dimension to the story. The map and journal are nice features, although I didn't consult either too frequently. The hint button is helpful, although you won't need it much with the built in SG. The inventory has an interesting twist in that some items are "locked" until you find all the parts. I really enjoyed this twist.
I had one technical glitch when a HOS didn't appear. I managed to get it to appear after I went in and out of that area several times.
One small warning, there are several times during the game where ghosts pop out at you. Some of them are really startling. I enjoyed it, but others might not.
This is a fun game. You are searching Bluebeard's castle to locate your sister. The graphics are nice, the HOS are good, the mini games are fun, the music is acceptable (and not annoying) and the cut scenes are well done. While the story is not original, this is a good interpretation. There are plenty of areas to visit and not a lot of back-and- forth between areas. There are no voice overs. The game had a satisfying ending, though it was somewhat rushed.
The annoyances were the slow loading when you moved from one area to another, the difficulty of using inventory items in certain areas (the forum has excellent tips on this issue) and the paucity of help provided by the hint button. Also, the game would have benefited from a journal to keep clues.
If you can overlook the annoyances, this is an enjoyable game.
This is a delightful game. You are a detective on your first big case. You are looking for a missing person. The graphics look somewhat dated, but I liked them since they were very clear. The HOS are nice as are the mini games. The music is unobtrusive, which is a great change of pace. There are no voice overs and only minimal cut scenes.
The story line was great, although the developers tipped their hand a bit too early. They did build a sense of mystery without resorting to "dark and creepy" which was nice. I also enjoyed the fact that each area was a complete section. Some areas were larger than others, but since you stayed in an area until you completed it there was not a lot of back and forth that you find with some games. The ending was satisfying, though not unexpected.
This is such a fun game! It is an old school HOS. The HOS were really nice, not junk piles. Some of the objects were really challenging to locate. The mini games were fun, not overly hard, but fun. The graphics are nice. The cut scenes are more cartoon, which is a nice change of pace. The voice overs were pretty good. The music was nice...which I rarely say about any game. I left the music on the whole game.
The story line is a bit linear, but had a very satisfying conclusion. The map guides you to each location, which is nice. The bulk of the game takes place in Rome. It would have been fun to visit more historical sites in Rome. It was nice to play a game that didn't have the "dark and creepy" vibe.
Once you complete the story, you can go back to each location and play extended HOS, which is really fun. You can also re-watch all the cut scenes.
I highly recommend this game for a refreshing change of pace and some fun HOS.
This is a great game for times when you want to play something that's light and airy. You help your parents set up their antique shop and get to visit various places around the country. The graphics are acceptable, but the music is annoying (muted it before I started the game). You play HOS, find the difference, find the matches and find 25 of a specific item. You also look for dog bones for the hint button. The hint button is a puppy and you get to select which type at the beginning of the game. They are adorable! As the game rolls along you collect money to buy things for the store and you gain access to various items for your puppy.
This game is not difficult, but it is fun. I recommend this for those times you need a change of pace.
I really enjoyed this game. It is a great change of pace! You are traveling the country helping friends and gathering money to open an antique shop. You play some HOS, some mini games, some match games, some find the difference games and some find 25 of a certain object games. The hint button is adorable...it's a puppy. When you use the hint button, the puppy plays with it's chew toy until the button recharges. There were times I used the hint button just to watch the puppy!
Some of the HOS and find the difference games were difficult, which added to the fun, You also get to set up the antique store, which is fun. The graphics are acceptable, nothing high tech. The music is somewhat annoying. I muted it after 5 minutes. There aren't any voice overs, which was a nice change of pace.
This is a great game for those times you want to play a low stress game that is absolutely fun.
This game was such a disappointment. The only good things about it were the graphics, the SG, some of the cut scenes and some of the voice overs.
The storyline was thin and confusing. The game started out with a bang and I thought it was going to be really good, but then it went downhill quickly. The Templars "go rouge" which didn't work for me. There is an amazing amount of running around. Some of the HOS have to be partially completed, left to acquire other objects, then returned to so they can be completed. That was beyond frustrating. The logic of the game is minimal at best.
This game made use of live actors for the cut scenes. One of the actors was pretty good, the rest were average at best. The mini games were okay, but nothing new or different.
The ending of the main game was the most disappointing. I don't want to give anything away, but the actions you take with the final character you meet are beyond comprehension. I can't imagine what the game developers were thinking.
The best thing I can say about the bonus chapter is that you, as the player, get to make a decision between two options at the end of it. That was somewhat interesting. The "big twist" was not a twist at all as far as I'm concerned. If you pay attention at the end of the main game, you know exactly what the bonus game will cover.
I don't recommend this game. It requires too much suspension of disbelief and is too disjointed.
I love dogs and was drawn to this game because of the dogs. They were, overall, a disappointment. The puppy at the beginning was cute, but the rest were just okay. The graphics were fine, the characters were a bit out-dated but acceptable. I muted the music early on because it was beginning to annoy me. The SG was good, very detailed, and came in very handy. The map was so-so. It allowed you to jump back and forth between locations, but didn't tell you if there were still items to be collected/puzzles to be solved.
The bonus chapter was, in some ways, more fun than the main game. The main game started out strong, but lost steam as it rolled along. The storyline was okay, but parts of it were just odd. There was a lot of back-and-forth between locations, which got old after awhile.
I recommend you try the demo first or wait until a BOGO sale and make this your "get one" game.
The storyline for this game was unique. The graphics were great, there were some really fun mini games, the HOS were okay, the end was satisfying, the SG was excellent (although you won't need it much), the map was interactive and let you jump from one location to another (always a nice feature!), the bonus chapter was interesting and the dog was adorable (even though it seemed to morph from a spaniel to a retriever towards the end of the game).
The annoyances.... The live actors were bad and, just like the first game, the audio track didn't match the video in cut scenes (think bad Godzilla movie dubbing from the 1970's).
The hospital cut scenes were beyond bad! The nurse was from the 1960's complete with white uniform and cap, plus she wore a mask the entire time (but never wore gloves). The patient was in her street clothes and was never attended by any medical personnel other than the nurse. Best of all, the patient went into respiratory arrest and was treated with an oxygen mask not a ventilator....LOL.
I also think it is worth mentioning that there are overtones of child abuse. There is nothing explicit, but if even the hint of abuse bothers you, avoid this game.
As long as the annoyances don't bother you, I would recommend this game. The bonus chapter was a nice addition, so I recommend the CE version.
I love this solitaire collection! There are lots of different games from which to choose. The game play is smooth. You can select your background and card style. The favorites list is nice. Once you have it populated, you can easily find your all time favs to play. The hint system is a nice feature. I'm thrilled with this game!
