The good parts....
Great graphics, fun storyline, satisfying ending, bonus chapter was interesting, sound effects were good, some excellent mini games, excellent SG, hint button was helpful (although I didn't use it much), journal was helpful and allowed you to replay cut scenes if you wished, background music was fine, earning awards was fun, finding the flowers was fun.
The annoyances....
Used live actors in the cut scenes and the audio didn't always match the actors speech (think of a poorly dubbed Godzilla movie from the 1970's), live actors were not the best option, the HOS required use of inventory items and oftentimes you didn't have the items you needed to complete the HOS, lots of back and forth.
I enjoyed this game, but it annoyed me at times. I did enjoy the bonus chapter, although it did not alter the outcome of the game. The additional mini games were a nice addition. My biggest gripe were the cut scenes with the live actors, it was jarring and took you out of the story.
I do recommend this game and enjoyed the extras that came with the CE.
I recommend this game!

This is the first mahjong game I've purchased from Big Fish and I love it. There are a number of "built-in" layouts and you have access to a multitude of layouts from the BF server. They are quite challenging! You can select different tile sets or create your own. You earn awards based on points scored. There is one shuffle per game. I am thrilled I purchased this game and highly recommend it!

I enjoyed this game, but didn't love it. The graphics, cut scenes and voice-overs are great. The background music became annoying and I muted it.
The HOS consist of having to find 3 to 5 things to unlock an item you need. Unfortunately some of the things you have to find are not in the scene with the HOS, so you have to wander around looking for them. The mini games were enjoyable. I liked the story line and the ending was satisfying.
There is a lot of back and forth. You really have to pay attention or keep notes. You visit most locations multiple times. That was the most frustrating thing about this game.
If you are up for a game that requires close attention, I recommend this game. Try to finish it in one sitting, because you will forget locations and items you need if you spread game play over more than one day.
I recommend this game!

This was a great game. The graphics, cut scenes, sound effects and voice-overs are great. There are cut scenes throughout the game and some of them are interactive, which was fun and added to the tension of the game. The music was fine at first, but became annoying with repetitive sounds of crows cawing and cats meowing. I finally muted the background music on the options menu.
The story line was interesting. You play a detective sent to find Ernesto. The mini games are relatively easy, but fun. The HOS are not too numerous and are enjoyable, there are some interactive things to find. The journal/map/task list is excellent. The map does not allow you to jump between areas, but it does show you which locations have items to do. There is also a compass that you can switch on and off. It shows all exits from a particular scene while it's active.
The hint button is helpful and recharges quickly. I didn't have to use it very often, but it was handy the few times I did use it. As you're going through the game, be sure to read every newspaper, letter, scrap of paper you come across. They provide information that moves the story along. There is a lot of back and forth between scenes, so if that bothers you be prepared.
While this game stands alone, I played the first two games a couple of months ago and believe that made this game more enjoyable. I definitely recommend this game.
I recommend this game!

This game was fun. The graphics were acceptable, but could have been better. The sound was fine and not annoying. There were no voice overs, so you did a lot of reading at times. The cut scenes varied, some were excellent, some were just ok. The "investigation" aspect was fun. There were certain items that you drag to your investigation "kit" which opened some interesting mini games. The ending was satisfying, but quick. The bonus chapter was fun, but it was easy to figure out how it was going to end within the first 5 minutes.
The HOS were ok. Some items were almost impossible to locate, but the hint button is helpful and recharges quickly.
There are places were the game moves slower than it should.
With a few changes this game could have been excellent, but overall it was a fun game.
As long as you're not upset by voodoo-type activities, I recommend the SE of this game. The CE isn't worth the money.
I recommend this game!

This is a great game. The graphics, sound and music are excellent. The storyline is engaging and moves the game forward. This is not a run-of-the-mill orphanage story. The HOS were well done, some scenes you looked for objects, some scenes you placed objects back into the scene. There is some running back and forth, but not too much to be annoying. The ending was satisfying, as was the bonus chapter. I'm glad I purchased the CE!
I recommend this game!

This was a nice way to wrap up the series. This game was more like the first (Asylum) and was much better than the second (Opera). The graphics were not the best, but were acceptable and the HOS were clear. The voice overs were excellent! The game was lengthy with lots of rooms to explore and items to find. Most of the mini games were fun. I skipped a couple of them because I wanted to get on with the game. The map was good and the hint button recharges quickly (although you really won't need it more than a couple of times). The journal provided assistance on some of the mini games.
There was one technical glitch that didn't affect the game, but made me keep revisiting one room because I thought there was something else to do.
The only thing I really disliked about this game was the ending. It was rushed and somewhat unsatisfying. You do find out what happens to the characters, but after such a lengthy game it seemed to end too abruptly.
I recommend this game, but would suggest you play the first game in the series (Asylum) before you play this one.
I recommend this game!

I really enjoyed the first game and was looking forward to the sequel. This was an odd sequel. While the first game was well done, had a compelling story and moved along nicely, this game was poorly drawn, almost nothing but HOS and changed the back story from the previous game.
The HOS were very difficult, with some items so small they couldn't be found. The hint button does recharge quickly and you will need it. The mini games were so-so and the hint button was not at all helpful. The walkthrough is almost essential to understand what some of the mini games want you to do.
The voice overs were excellent, which was about the only enjoyable thing by the end of the game. I was disappointed the developers decided to change the appearance of the three main characters. I was also disappointed about changes to the back story. This game doesn't really serve to move the story along and I'm not certain what to expect from the third game in the series (which I've already purchased).
If you are a huge HOS fan, you will enjoy this game. If not, you will not enjoy this game.
I don't recommend this game.

This was a fun game. You've been summoned to free the girl trapped in the tower surrounded by a dark forest. You travel through the areas surrounding the tower by playing HOS and some mini games, collecting crystals and talking to gnomes. The map was very useful and allowed you to easily move around. There is a twist towards the end, which was fun. The way some of the characters were drawn cracked me up....they weren't bad, just entertaining.
The HOS are not junk piles, you have to locate and collect certain things to obtain an item. Some of the things were hard to find, but the hint button was helpful. The hint button was not good if you got stuck. I did have to refer to the walkthrough towards the end of the game.
Overall, this was a fun game and had a nice ending.
I recommend this game!

I really enjoyed this game. You're an orphan in search of your only living relative. You end up on a remote island with a creepy asylum and some interesting characters. The graphics are fine, not as modern as some games, but nicely done. The background music was unobtrusive and suited the game. The voice overs were excellent. The HOS and mini games were fun and well drawn. The map is helpful when you get stuck and the audio tapes you collect add an interesting dimension to the game. The ending was satisfying and set up the sequel while still giving a nice ending to the story at hand.
I look forward to playing the next game in the series!
I recommend this game!
