I really enjoyed this game. Solve the kidnapping, endure a few twists and turns, then try to find some pirate booty. The graphics and sound are excellent. The scenes with live actors are good. I enjoyed the mini games. There weren't many HOS. The only thing missing was a map that allowed you to click from place-to-place. The length of game play was good. I did have to consult the walk through a couple of times late in the game. This is the first Mystery Case Files game I've played and I will definitely be purchasing the others.
Overall I enjoyed this game. There are lots of HOS, which I enjoy. The story was not that exciting, but it was ok. The graphics and sound were excellent. There were a lot of puzzles, some were quite difficult. The hint button recharges in 30 seconds or so and you can pick up light bulbs along the way to give you extra hints without waiting for the recharge. You won't need the hint button much, but it was fun to look for the bulbs. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys HOS games.
This game was awesome. Some of the same characters from the first game are back again and there is a new adventure. The graphics and sound are excellent. I really like the concept of lots of doors and a new adventure behind each door. The bonus chapter was absolutely worth playing. You can play in casual or expert mode, which is nice. I highly recommend this game and hope there will be a third installment!
A new breed of virus has spread throughout the City of Oxford. You must search the city for a missing girl who holds the key to stopping the global epidemic!
This game has everything! You can customize the level of play (more/less sparkles, fast/slow/no hints, etc.), the graphics and cut scenes are amazing, the HO scenes are original, the story line keeps your attention, the voice-overs are some of the best I've heard and the bonus chapter was very interesting. I also liked that the story had an ending, but also left open the possiblity of a sequel. I was so engrossed with this game, I could barely tear myself away! I highly recommend this game and hope there is a sequel.
I liked this game at first. It has nice graphics and a quasi-interesting story line. However, once it dawned on me that I would be going to the same places over and over and over and over again, I rapidly lost interest. I finished the game, but thought about giving up more than once. I wanted to like this game, but it was too repetitive for me.
This game had a lot of potential, but the developers should have given more options/areas to search for the needed items. It was interesting that you actually used the items for which you searched; however, by the end I didn't really care.
I loved this game! The graphics are amazing, the music is nice, the voices are some of the best I've heard, the length of the game is good, the story is interesting, the HO scenes and mini games are fun....it was all around awesome. The bonus chapter is quite fun and definitely worth the extra price for the CE version. I highly recommend this game and look forward to playing the sequel.
I really should have downloaded the trial before I purchased this game. The graphics were good, but the music was so annoying I turned off the speakers. The worst part of the game for me was the time component and how you lost oxygen if you used the hint button or mis-clicked. Also, with each successive dive, you have less time and more locations. I play games for fun and to relax. This game was most definitely not relaxing.
Overall I enjoyed this game. I really enjoyed the time travel and the clever way they did the "map." There were lots of HO scenes and lots of inventory to pick up and use elsewhere, which I enjoyed. Changing something in the past, changed the future, which was fun. On the HO scenes, you could switch to a match 3 mini game if you wished; however, the match 3 games were so boring, so I stuck with the HO scenes. You do run around alot, both through time and to various rooms wtihin the same time frame. The "map" made it easy to keep track of where you were and what you needed to do next.
The graphics were excellent. The music was really annoying. I finally turned off the speakers.
The story was good, but fizzled out near the end when you lose the "map" and have a harder time moving around. The story ended with "to be continued" which was beyond annoying.
I would recommend this game if you enjoy either HO scenes or match 3 games.
This game was enjoyable. There are a lot of hidden object scenes and some are very challenging. The mini games are interesting and some are different than most of those you find in HOGs. The ending was somewhat abrupt, but overall it was fun running around the castle and grounds finding things you needed to complete the game. I did have to use the walkthrough at one point. I look forward to purchasing the other Echoes of the Past games.
While this game was not the most challenging I've ever played, I enjoyed it a lot. Some of the "commentary" was really entertaining and I laughed out loud several times. The graphics were good. I really enjoy HO scenes, so this game was perfect since it has quite a few of them. This is the type of game you can play after a long day at work as a way to unwind a bit. You don't leave a location until you've found/done everything, so you don't have to stress over continually running back and forth. I will definitely try the other Edgar Allen Poe games.
