Let me be crystal clear, I love Casual Arts and the Vacation series (Christmas Wonderland included). I have never once been disappointed with one of the games. Playing these games is like seeing old friends. I bought VAPR 15 CE sight unseen because I already knew what it was! I knew that I could get my fuzzy slippers, sit back, relax, and enjoy the adventure. Don't you change a thing Casual Arts.
No, this series is not about finding demons, solving mysteries, opening doors with broken keys, or even escaping a locked cell! This series, in my humble opinion, is about America and all that she has to offer. I absolutely love the fun facts. The regional histories that I would never learn about on my own (or did in school for that matter) are a highlight for me. Not to mention the incredible music that is always included. I hunt some of it down and add it to my playlist! This series is just what I need when I need to wind down from a hard day's work. It's light and always fun. Do they have a formula? Yep! This formula happens to work just fine for me! Keep doing what you're doing BoomZap!
Review based on trial. I have paid for all of the Dark City installs. This one not only does not disappoint, it reminds me of why I began playing HOGs in the first place (in the olden days). Great storyline, visually stunning, and generous game play! I love how in this series there's always something new for me to learn. Friendly Fox, you have truly outdone yourself with this one. Very well done! And thank you!
I love the facts, the music, the game play, and did I say the music?! Once, again, I've loved some of the tracks so much that I've added them to my playlist. Finding America is such a good series. Visually it is crisp, vibrant, and pleasant to look at. Finding some of the objects can be challenging but I believe that is what most people who play HO games want. Plus it's relaxing. Keep doing what you're doing.
This left me on the fence. I love this series. I also typically am an Elephant fan. This one, however, felt forced. The storyline I loved. The dialogue left me wanting. The characters sounded like robots. It almost didn't feel like an Elephant game. It totally reminded me of another developer (of whom I am not a fan of). Loved that Richard was mentioned. Love the plot as I said previously. But, sadly, this is not my favorite. Would I recommend buying it though, no. I'm glad I have an extensive collection of older, better games to play.
Casual Arts, you have once again, hit the ball out of the park! For me, the Vacation Adventures are like seeing old friends and I never want them to leave. How you manage to make these games the same and different each time (I know that doesn't make sense. But it does make sense) just amazes me and I love, love, love, playing them. Thank you for staying true to the series. I always buy without a "try" when I see a new one and I've never been disappointed. Thank you, again
I've been patiently waiting for another Ravenhurst story and boy was this worth the wait! GrandMa once again, you have outdone yourself! The storyline, the music, the generous game play and staying true to the original concept of the darkness of Dalimar is pure gold! I bow down to you GrandMa. Well done! I am eagerly looking forward to the next Ravenhurst game. Again, well done!
After Finding America: The Heartland I honestly didn't think this series could get any better. I stand corrected! I love the wealth of history and information given with each scene. I love the game visually, it is pleasing to seek out the objects and the morphing objects make it challenging to say the least. I absolutely love the music! Love some of the pieces so much I now have them downloaded on a playlist. The everyday stressors melt away for me when playing these games. I am beyond pleased. Thank you BoomZap for another winner!
Do, Domini whatever they want to call themselves, I can't anymore. I've tried over and over to give this developer a chance and over and over I feel like a mark! First of all the purple hue is too much. Then I see code just running all up the sides of the game! I did like one of the Twin Mind games. Certainly not this one. Don't waste your time or money! Would have given 0 stars.
I've said it before and I'll say it a thousand times, going to Pinecreek Hills and Springfield is like going to see your old friends! I bought this (sight unseen) and didn't have any doubt that it would be money well spent. Could I have used points? Absolutely! Did I want to spend the money? Absolutely! The cast of characters, their development, the scenery, the generous game play, the music, and just the plain fun with this series more than warrants me spending my money on it time and time again. Another good one Casual Arts, well done!
