I completed the SE version and must write that this game had it all! Well done Mad Head Games/BigFish! Bravo! I somewhat agree with one of the reviewers who said that the instructions were poor but I've played games w/o instructions, depending upon the level, and this became a challenge for me. But I actually felt like I was watching a SciFi movie. And did you catch that cool intro? Superb graphics/artwork, awesome music, great actors, ingenious tasks--and you had better watch out for the world eaters! No blood or gore but sheer fun and intrigue. Great flowing game, too. I don't need to go into the specifics, it's already been done by so many reviewers. Just take my word for it, buy the game. The SE version gives you a lot of bang for the buck, I can tell you that much. I highly recommend this game! It's about sacrifice, hope for a better future; survival through the good and bad!

I was finally able to finish this CE version even with some of the issues I encountered, had it not been for some of the issues, I would have rated it 5-star but I'm giving it 3-1/2 stars. I did address the issue with BigFish, while having the problem and painstakingly went back to the game and finished it. The graphics were phenomenal, the music was lovely, the morphing objects, collectibles were great; lots of the puzzles were hit and miss, some challenging and some not. I think one of the best features of this game was Elf. He's the best helper of all helpers. When I first started playing this series, I wasn't all that crazy about him, but I've grown to really love him, so Elf gets a 5-star! A note to the developers, I admire all of your hard work and efforts in this game. Very clever tasks, very thought-provoking, and enjoyed the Bonus Game more than the Main Game. If you beta test or buy the game, and if you have no problems, more power to you! I recommend this game!

Grandma Studios and Big Fish are awesome! My review is based on the completed CE version. My gosh you get so much in the CE version that your head will spin! Achievements, Collectible Crystals, a plethora of Mini Games which I loved but some were a bit too easy; great HOS, music, good hint button, built in Strategy Guide, and bonus chapters. I was able to find all the crystals but those could be somewhat tricky at times. I applaud the DEVS for all the work that went into this game. Kudos guys and gals! You did good! What an adventure! However, the game was a bit quirky in some areas, and I don't mean freezing or crashing; selecting the objects to collect or even move them with your mouse was problematic at times--my mouse is fine! So I'm only rating it a 4 out of 5 stars. The red panda, which I thought was a red raccoon--silly me--was okay and he got right on the tasks if need be but there's helpful and then there's too helpful. I liked the storyline, the music, the voiceovers were great, the graphics were splendid! The gameplay was very good except for the quirks here n' there; but I definitely recommend this game because not only do you get your money's worth but hours of very clever, fun things to do!

Thus far, I'm lovin' this prince guy! LOL! I'm halfway through this CE version and I must report that this, too, deserves a 5-star rating. (Gosh, this makes three five-star games in a row for me; that's a first! Big Fish aims to please!) I'm having a wonderful time playing this particular game. Very pleasing to the eye! Delightful, beautiful artwork, a wonderland of forests, crystals, dragons, minotaurs, humans, easy to challenging mini-games, awesome HOS. Depending upon the level you play some of the instructions, (if any), are incomplete or unclear, but that's what makes it challenging. Even with the inconsistencies, I rate this game a five-star. If you need help, though, you have your hint button and the guide. I do like figuring things out myself but at least you have those options.The go-to map is wonderful. Everything about this game is wonderful. It's my favorite of the Awakening series, to be honest. I, too, check the negative reviews first and highly rely upon them because after all, discount or no discount, it's my money and I don't want to waste it on a bad game; but in lieu of the fact that we each have our own tastes in game-play, flow, organization, rationale, and may be at different levels, Awakening:The Golden Age will satisfy most gamers, I'm sure! Try it and draw your own conclusions. Oh, don't forget to collect all your fairies, too! Now back to the game I must go!

I played the SE version and I'll tell you it's not a long game but it happens to be my favorite of the Stray Souls series! I would love it if the developers actually had the player stop to rest or lie down for a brief nap; show them chomping on some food from the table, you know, things of that nature. Would seem more realistic. And the endings should have substance to them instead of being so abrupt. This game really rocks though. The game-flow is smooth. The puzzles, which are typical of the Stray Souls series, are clever; the HOS and tasks are not difficult but fun to do. Kudos to the developers! The voiceovers are good, great storyline, awesome special effects, lots to do and you won't get bored, that's for sure. Very creepy atmosphere with an evil clown and now I can see why some people are actually afraid of clowns. The graphics/artwork is topnotch. Great sound effects, too. Again, the ending, like in most games, is abrupt and I'd like to see that change, but all in all I rate Stray Souls: Stolen Memories a 5-star. I highly recommend this game!

At first I wasn't really digging this game but I'm nearing the end of the Main Game, CE version and I must write, what an adventure and storyline! I didn't want to stop playing but I did so for this review. However, I think I should break for lunch now! LOL! An artist is searching for his wife and daughter and you also have a helper, who is really cool. I was overwhelmingly impressed with the thought processes that went into this game. And it's quite a long one, too! I've never encountered a game such as this one before. Very well done, developers! Battling monsters, obstacles along the way, and there is so much to do. You'll have loads of objects in your inventory but the game is intelligently crafted and organized and little by little those objects will be used. That's what I call a game! Puzzles, HOGS, everything about it is grand! The graphics, or paintings I should say, are vivid and crisp and unusual; the voiceovers are great. The tasks are awesome and innovative. I'll leave the facts of the story to those reviewers who do that well. But you must try this game. I highly recommend it! Kudos to the developers!

I bought the CE version of this game and I have to agree with one of the reviewers--"It makes no sense at all!" Sure it has some good points. A lot of work went into but I feel like I'm running in circles. The tasks require three to four steps to complete and all I want to do is to move on already! Terribly unorganized--a no rhyme to its reason kind of game! The graphics, though tedious, were cartoonish, voiceovers weren't bad; the music was fine, but I'm forcing myself to finish the game. Sorry, but this game just doesn't cut it for me! I still think you should try it for yourself. You may have a different take on it!

While the thoughts are still fresh in my mind, I have to tell you that this game rocks! At least it did for me! I'm almost at the end of the Bonus Game. You get a lot of bang for the buck in this game. There's a wide variety of tasks to complete and it's so much fun. The HOPS are varied and unusual. You'll learn about the characters as you piece the puzzles back in place; morphing objects to locate and when you have a game such as this one that is intriguing, one can get engrossed on the tasks and forget about the morphing objects, so I'm getting better at that. Your well's been sealed with dark magic and you've got to remove it by finding the healing mushrooms to dispel it, just one of the fun things to complete. The storyline is great but it's the same genre--witches, ghosts, demons, whatever! One of these days, I'm hoping these developers can create a game about a jewel heist with the most beautiful scenery our eyes ever feasted upon! A change of pace/scenery would be good; nonetheless, this game does have stunning scenes. Your helper, the lil' imp, is so cute and if you click on him, he'll perform different functions--for instance, he'll get out his guitar and play a real quick tune; spin the top; at one point he took out a pendant on a chain and almost hypnotized himself; and other cute and fun things that I got a big charge out of! The only thing I would change on the imp's appearance is I'd get rid of the horns and give him brown or blue eyes! Still, he's too cute for words, and truly a great assistant. The developers really put in a lot of thought and work into this game. Bravo to all! The artwork is stunning; the music/special effects are terrific; the text didn't always jive with the voiceovers, but that's a minor thing. The actors were very good, too. Oh, you also had the option of playing the matching game instead of the HOPS, and just for the fun of it, I would from time to time. Everything flows so well in this game. I'm giving it a 5-star rating and highly recommend it as it is compelling and fun game to play.

Eipix is one of my fav developers but they've fallen somewhat short on this one. Yes, there's lots of clever tasks to perform, but there are inconsistencies, and, to me, the game lacks momentum. You'll frequent some of the same scenes over and over again retrieving objects to fulfill a task like going from the Ballroom to the Mirror Room over and over again. Lots of dreary scenes which is okay--it's part of the story but with all due respect, I'm bored to tears. Although it's not the worst game I've ever played, but if you have other games in your cue, try to save the better games for last.This game doesn't warrant a 5-star, but a 3-1/2 star, in my opinion. I bought the CE and am 3/4 away from completing the main game. I felt this way 1/4 of the way in and still feel this way. Depressing graphics, gloomy artwork and atmosphere. But what saves this game is its clever tasks that often gave me some ray of hope that better things would come. Perhaps by the end of the Bonus Game I may change my rating. I doubt it! I do recommend the game because once again, you won't know unless you try it yourself. I'm not sorry that I purchased it though because it's something to do on a rainy day, but better yet, I bought this game at a great discount thanks to BF.

I really enjoy reading both the negative and positive reviews but I especially get a kick out of the negative reviewers' comments because I can often relate plus some of the comments make me laugh out loud! We all have likes and dislikes--that's what makes the world go around. But for me, I must report that I love, love, love this game. Mad Head Game developers, I commend you! You have created an ingenious game! The mini games are really thought-provoking and intelligent; the HOS are interactive and unusual, and the tasks are awesome. Good hint button; the map is fantastic! The story is great! This game is a winner in my opinion! There is so much to do and it's all fun stuff, too. The voice actors are excellent; the artwork is gorgeous, and the music is great! The moment I started playing the SE version I knew right away I'd love this game. I'm halfway through the game and usually like to give a review when I've completed it but I just couldn't wait because of my excitement of wanting to inform gamers to try it out. Buy it! I've never beta tested a game as I rely pretty much on the reviewers' comments and then with the great discounts from Big Fish, I just end up buying them. I thoroughly enjoyed helping Bill, who's my brother in the story, find the blueprint to repair the glider--that was awesome! I enjoyed finding the octopus torso and tentacles and then having to position it properly to fit the slot in the bookcase. One favorite task was having to pick a lock. I've done those before but this is somewhat different--rather unique and fun to do. I highly recommend this game. This is my kinda' game!
