One of the first games I ever played. Awesome! Right up there with Dark Strokes: Sins of the Father and Return to Ravenhurst and some of my other favorites. I bought the CD for Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Curse of the Full Moon CE and was impressed with the flow of the game from the onset. The HOS, puzzles, music, and storyline were great. I played regular mode and just relaxed and had loads of fun with it. This game didn't come with a map but you're able to get around easy enough. It's a long game. Just go with the flow. I highly recommend it! You'll be pleasantly surprised!

Let me begin by writing that the developers put quite a bit of effort into this game, which is intelligently written. (BTW, I did find a few typos in the notes, not that I was counting, LOL!) Very deep story, indeed. The game was pretty long and you must be patient and read the journal and pay attention to the things around you. The story involves a man with a split personality--Jekyl & Hyde or Malleus & Serius, if you will. There are two other characters: Kevin Sting and Rebecca Thatcher, and a few trolls and a couple of animals. Your hint button is assisted by a frog. There is no map in this game but you will be using the objects in your inventory pretty quickly. The graphics were okay; I've seen better--standard HOS, without interaction, and in my opinion, far too many of them in this game, so much so that I was beginning to get annoyed with it, and thinking, 'oh, come on, now, let's get on with the game! Every time you entered into a new area you were hit again with yet another HO scene. Enough already!! I like HOS, mind you, it's just that there were far too many which added to the length of this game and I wanted to get to the crux of the story. However, the puzzles were very clever, challenging, and excellent. If you love HOS, this is the game for you; if you love clever puzzles, by all means this game is for you. If you don't check the journal, you will miss out. I recommend this game. Have fun!

Another one of my favorites. It's got everything you need; great HOS with interaction, puzzles that are cleverly done but not too hard; great graphics, good music and a long game to boot. A well-balanced game with enough things to do and a great storyline. You won't get bored with this one. I highly recommend it.
Based on the SE version, this one of the most creative and intriguing games I've played in a long time. A multitude of things to do--tricky in some places, but pretty much a breeze. Well-written story, fun and adventuresome. Awesome cut scenes, real people-great acting. Graphics and special effects are terrific! This game flows and grabbed my attention from the get-go. I'm only sorry I didn't buy the CE. You have everything you need in this game and then some. If you want details of the story, read some of the other reviewers' great comments or read the synopsis from BigFish Games. I highly recommend it!

Before I lose my train of thought here, this is my first Shiver game and it is not the collectible edition as well. I'm halfway through this SE version and I must write that though it is rather a 'chaotic' game, and it's about werewolves, etc., the challenges are amazing! Good storyline but the same old, same old these days, and even though I have not completed this game yet, I am highly recommending it because of the challenges alone. You need to be in a good frame of mind when you're playing this game. If you don't have patience then don't buy it. But if you like challenges, go for it! Lots to do and the HOS have interactions within interactions. When you find an object and use it, it doesn't mean that it's the end of that task. Oh, no! You will then need another object from the inventory to complete the task. The artwork is dreary but very good, VOS very good, and you will have many, many items to use in your inventory at first and will be all over the place thus the chaos; but you do have a pretty good hint button, a lamp when needed, and by all means, refer, refer, refer to your journal. I usually like games that flow but this is very clever and somewhat disorganized. Be prepared to go here n' there and everywhere; and even in your inventory there is interaction among other items. Speaking of items, and a little hint here, if I may--you will collect a coin, thinking where's the coin slot? Not so. The coin will be used as a screwdriver. Get my drift? I think the developers did this on purpose to challenge us even more or just drive us crazy! I really like this game and for the money, you can't beat it! However, I believe every game should have a good map but I guess they feel it would be less challenging. To each his/her own!

Just finished the collector's edition but will shortly resume the bonus game. In the meantime I wanted to review the game before I forget the specifics. I've played so many games that they're all running in to each other. However this game was awesome. So much to do and lots of time to do it. Wonderful graphics, VO's, puzzles, interactive HOS, you name it. And often times the objects in your inventory were not used right away and sometimes they were. And it made me wonder if I missed something, but it all worked out as usual. It's a pretty long game and for awhile there I was getting a little bored but I soon snapped out of it. If there hadn't been a map, I would have given Living Legends Frozen Beauty 3 1/2 stars. The acting was pretty good and the special effects as well. I liked this game as much as Living Legends Ice Rose. I highly recommend this game.
This is going to be a short and sweet review, folks! Get this game! It's one of my favorite games of all time. Excellent all around! You won't be sorry. Exciting, intelligently developed, and it will hold your attention. You won't be bored and you won't be sorry. I'll leave the details of the game to those wonderful reviewers who have the patience to do so. I highly recommend this game hands down!!
I completed this SE version which obviously is not really complete, thus, the CE version, which I am not buying after all is said and done folks. I'm wiped out by this game. If you want to know what the game is all about refer to those wonderful reviewers who have taken the time to explain. I'm too tired and somewhat disappointed considering you're left up in the air at the end. But this game is a SE version after all. I played the advanced mode but there was no map and I would say you're pretty much left on your own. The hint button took longer to load, no problem with that, but this game is loaded with lots to do, which piqued my interest. A very challenging game, indeed, and very clever, but Illogical in some areas and frustrating at times. Without giving out too much information, who uses a can opener to unhook a gramophone horn? Somehow it all works out though. Lots of clever puzzles in between and interactive HOS. I like those quite a bit. There should have been a map and I don't know what the developers were thinking, to be honest. You need to refer to the journal, which isn't really all that helpful either. It was not a 'flowing' game but it kept my interest so much so that I wanted to complete it. Artwork okay, synthesized music was redundant, voice overs were very good, and the artwork was dreary but pretty good. I would still recommend this game but perhaps you might want to buy the CE version, I'm not going to. The storyline is good in my opinion because there is more to come. I'll give it that much! A brain teaser to be sure, illogical or not!
I played the SE version of this game and wow, there is a multitude of things to do! The name of the game, Gothic Fiction: Dark Saga holds true to its title. Gloomy atmosphere all around, but great artwork. As soon as you load up the game, a booming voice announces the game! I got a big charge out of that! I didn't give this game a 5-star because tho it had a map it should have had a transporting map, but from time to time when you collected an item to use for another location, the hologram/soul would appear and supply a portal for you to enter into the exact spot where the object was needed. I found the portal to be a big plus and so will you if you decide to buy this game. It had a blueprint/sketch of the areas to be investigated, but you were pretty much left on your own going from the Admin. Bldg, to the Chapel, to the Technical Bldg., to the Grounds, to the School, etc. You will need to refer to the journal, the notes, the map. There is a hint button but I rarely used it and when I did, it was pretty much useless to me. This game moves fast, you will find objects left and right and collect quite a few that won't be used right away and many that will be used right away. No HOS but the puzzles were clever and some of them requiring logic. But if I may mention this, as an example, a potion recipe--in this game it just requires your getting the needed elements, a click here, a click there, it's done! In other games you literally have to follow the recipe to a tee. A very flowing game, dreary, same old story about a witch, lost souls, blah, blah, blah. Sound effects good; special effects real good, synthesized music okay. It's always a good feeling when you beat the bad gal or guy and save the townspeople/children. A no-nonsense game, which was right up my alley. I would highly recommend it. Again, you'll get a lot for your money.
