I was a bit disappointed in this one. I played the demo and was taken by the story and bought it to see how it came out. The chore of getting to the end... well I made it, but getting there wasn't quite as much fun as I had hoped. I played for about three hours, which is a bit short, but it was okay.
The graphics were excellent and the voice overs were well done. No dark corners and the colors were very nice. The music was quite subdued and hardly noticeable, but of course I turn the music down so it doesn't over run the voice overs.
Hidden object scenes were pretty easy. I used the hint once or twice to see how fast it was, and it does refill quickly. There are two types of hidden objects, the list and putting things back where they belong. The mini games were a mixed bag. I did play a few of them, but skipped just as many. I don't have the patience to mess with them for some reason. You have an interactive map, but all it does it take you to a general area and you have to figure out where to go from there. It shows where you have things to do, but not necessarily the place in which to do them. I used the hint quite a bit to figure that out. The hint is one of those that takes you right where you need to be instead of giving you a nudge as to where you need to go. There is a journal which I used sparingly. Matter of fact I forgot about it for the longest time.
As I said, I bought this, because of the story line. I was very disappointed in the by the end of the game. It wasn't horrible by any means, but it could have been better. I still don't understand the big secret and what it did. Either I missed something, which is always possible, or the story was just an after thought.
All in all this is an okay game. I bought it on sale and although I recommend this game, I would wait until it's on sale again before you buy.
I recommend this game!

I had such hopes for this game. First the hero is male for a change, but the game is way too slow for me. It just seems to drag. Just not much fun. Perhaps there is just too much going on, picture taking, finger prints to collect, and there is little or no indication as to what to expect.
The graphics are excellent as is the sound. The voice overs are very good, just not enough of them and the music is tolerable.
Hidden object scenes were few in the demo. The one I played had morphing objects that distracted from what you were looking for and I don't think any of them were what I was seeking. They change so fast it was hard to keep up with them. The mini games were fine. Not too hard and I did do the one or two offered. There is a map. I noticed several mentioned that there was no map, but I found it and it is interactive.
The story is okay. The demo doesn't really allow you to get to involved in it, but it has potential.
If it weren't for the slowness of moving from scene to scene and some other difficulties I had, this would be a buy for me. However, these were enough to turn me off. It was so slow I thought my computer was frozen. A little more time in the lab fixing these things would make this a great game.
I don't recommend this game.

Eipix has come up with another winner. I really enjoyed everything about this game. I have been waiting forever for it to come out in SE and it is here!
The visuals and sound are above reproach. Those folks do know how to put together a game. The scenery is beautiful and the hidden objects were clear. I still don't understand the dialog boxes, but I guess they have their reasons. Music goes along with the situation and is rather enjoyable. Effects are right on spot too.
There are several different types of hidden object scenes. From the list to a picture, to... you name it they put it in there. I didn't much care for the mini games. They were a bit, no, a lot more difficult than I like to attempt, but I don't like any of them so that is no distraction from Eipix. Those who enjoy racking their brains will enjoy this one. There are numerous minis for you to ponder. Thankfully for me, the skip is nice and quick as is the hint. I didn't play the alternate game. Enjoyed the hidden objects. You have an interactive map which is great. There is a journal which to be quite honest I found useless. Still don't know why they even included it unless it was to have something to hit when I was aiming for the map button.
You can read about the story, but I can tell you it is consistent. No holes... well written and executed. This series has been awesome. I can't wait to play it again. There is so much to enjoy about this game I'm sure I left something out. Give it a try and see if you don't agree it is good.
I recommend this game!

This is a really good game. I played the CE demo when it came out and have been waiting patiently, kind of, for the SE. I'm glad I did! I believe I have all the series, and this one is just a tad bit different.
The graphics were excellent as usual and the sound was good. I do wish they would come up with a different melody, but this has become synonymous with the series.
There is an interactive map which was quite helpful and the hint and skip buttons are quicker than usual. Way to go ERS! I gave it a lower rating on the challenge, because the hidden objects, while varied in type, were simple. Those who like to rack their brains on the mini puzzles are going to be disappointed I'm afraid. They too are on the easy side. I even played some. The only trouble I had was figuring out what I needed to do in some of the mini games. There wasn't the usual instructions, but not so difficult I couldn't figure it out. Having said that, this game was just right for me. I play to relax and not do mental gymnastics. I would rate this for beginner and intermediate.
The story was absorbing from the beginning and kept me guessing. It was true to the game and actually made sense.
I think you will like this. Give it a try.
I recommend this game!

I so wanted to like this game, but unfortunately that isn't the case. I've enjoyed other Blam games and thought this would be of the same quality. The demo was so short, and had I gone by that, I would not have purchased the game. However, I just knew it would get better. I "tricked" myself.
As you can tell, I didn't enjoy playing this. It just wasn't fun. It is goofy and I like goofy, but this went beyond that. I know now why it came out in the SE version so soon.
The graphics are great and the voice overs were very good. Colors were nice and bright and the music went along with the game. That evil laugh made me laugh a few times.
The hidden objects were different in style. There were a total variety from lists, to putting things together, to silhouettes. Nice assortment. The mini games, that's another story. I could not figure out what in the world to do in many of them and I was just thrilled that the skip button recharged quickly. Now, understand, I do not care for minis in the first place, but when I can't figure out what to do, that's a horse of the different color. The challenge with them is just trying to understand. You have an interactive map which is great and a must. No journal I could find, and not necessary anyway. The hint as well as the skip buttons recharge quickly which is a must anymore for me. The biggest challenge to the whole game was getting the cursor where they wanted it to be. Seldom was it ever on the object you were trying to find or the area you are trying to color. I believe that was the most frustrating thing about the game.
The story started out pretty good and then it just took off without me. This mad illusionist comes back twenty years after he's burnt up in a fire and then at the the end... well, you can figure that out. I was just bounced around from land to land without seemingly much regard to how I got there.
Having said all these negative things about this game, I bought it, but if you play the demo, just remember there is a lot more game where that ends. Be warned.
I recommend this game!

Yes, I had to raid my sister's wardrobe again and steal a dress to be Ms Adams, but this is another good one from Eipix. This was good for a nice afternoon. It was enjoyable with all the various games within the game that kept me interested.
As usual, the graphics are great and the audio fantastic. I always turn the music down low, but what I did hear went along with the action. One day I will understand the voice over boxes, but it is acceptable. They did a good job with the dialects. The story is based in Austria, and they sure sounded German to me.
The challenge... I have to admit the mini games were rather simple, because I played most of them. I just don't have the patience for a lot of that stuff, but if I do them they aren't mind benders. The hidden objects were varied. You have the list and the pictures to find. You also have mini games within the hidden object scenes. It was really varied and I like that. I have to say, I did have a little trouble figuring out what they wanted at times, but eventually I got it. The hint and skip buttons recharge quickly and the interactive map was a must for me. There is a lot of back and forth, but the map makes it easy to get where you're going and where there are things to do.
Story was interesting. I was a bit disappointed in the ending, but the rest of it was okay. Rather easy to follow and was true to itself. Big Fish does a good job explaining the story so I won't go into it here.
All in all I'm glad I bought it and look forward to playing it again. Give it a try. I think you'll like it too.
I recommend this game!

I must say, I was a bit disappointed in this latest effort from Eipix. I tried out the demo and was left wanting, but thought it would get better as it went along. Unfortunate, it didn't. I'm not saying this is the worse game I have ever played. Not by a long shot, but I have come to expect so much from these folks, that perhaps my expectations were a bit too high.
It was okay in the fun department. I did get a bit bored and were it not for the interactive map, I would have never finished this game. It just lacked something that I have grown to expect from them.
As with most of their games, the graphics were very good and the sound excellent. Voice overs were well done and although they still have those silly dialog boxes, they were exceptional.
The hidden objects were many and varied. Some were darn right hard to find. Well done on those. Now, the mini games, the majority of them I couldn't figure out what to do. The instructions were vague for me and I ended up skipping the majority of them. That is not unusual for me, but these were way out of my league. You have the map I spoke of, and the hint. Both the hint and the skip recharge very quickly, which is a big plus in my book. There is no journal, but I didn't seem to miss it at all. There is a lot of back and forth and back and forth, so the map was a life savor. If you are one of those who love difficult puzzles, you're going to love this one.
Now the story. It had its moments and I was drawn in from the beginning, but it seemed like they had to stretch it out to fill the space or something. I didn't get lost in the story so the continuity was there, but it lacked the excitement I usually get. The bad guy gets his in the end, of course, and the day is saved, but it seemed like it took a couple trips around the barn to do it.
All in all, I'm not sorry I bought it. It was a wonderful way to spend a few hours of mindless enterprise. Play the demo and see what you think. I don't want to leave you with the impression it was a lousy game, because it isn't. It's a very good game.
I recommend this game!

Yes, hours upon hours of fun and excitement.. then you go to level 2.... :-) This is a long game. It is fun and presents challenges surpassing almost all the other Match games I have played.
This is a full screen for a change. That is awesome! The music is on a loop, but it is a very pleasant loop. I enjoy listening to it as I travel around the board. Voices are fun and funny. Reminds me of some relatives of mine. Everything is very clear crisp.
The challenge to this game is remembering where in the world you have been on this massive board. As you move so does the board and I try my best to recall where it is I have been, but usually end up re-covering ground already visited. I play in the relaxed mode. I'm not out to beat the computer, because it's going to win. I play these games to relax. Although I do get frustrated with it and probably think words I shouldn't, at the end of my session, I feel like I've accomplished something.
There is a map of the board which helps somewhat and you get objects to help you on your task. Now if it would just show where I've been I would be a happy camper.
The story is good an as I said funny and entertaining. I think I'm about half way through the game, and am really enjoying it. Just a hint about something, at the end of each level, there will be hints that show up. Read them. I've gained more from them than from the tutorial.
This is a great way to spend a day, but don't expect to get it done in one day.
I recommend this game!

I really enjoyed this game. I wondered there for a while, but it all came together at the end. The characters are good and the game play is really excellent. Made the hours fly.
As with most Eipix games the graphics and sound were beyond great! I still don't understand the need for the dialog boxes, but maybe one day... The games are clear and the background is well done and pleasant. Effects and music go along with the story and aren't too annoying. There are a couple scenes I did want to get the game over so I could get out of there, but those were few.
This, to me, was a challenging game. There are so many different hidden object games and games within them, there are too many to mention. I had some difficulty finding some objects because they were so well hidden. The mini games, some of them were extremely difficult and a couple were simple (my kind of minis) and some, well I just didn't have the patience to fight with them. There is a challenge at every turn. The hint is fast charging and the map, well the map was my best friend. I don't think I could have done the game without it and complete the game in this lifetime.
I have to admit, and it's probably my fault, but I did get lost in the story. I couldn't grasp what was going on and was confused. I hate to think what I'm going to be like when I get some more years on me. However, that ending, it turned me on my heels. I wasn't expecting that. I need to play it again and see when things went wrong and why I was so lost for so long.
All in all this is a great game with wonderful challenges for about everyone. I can't wait to play it again in a few days to see that excitement one more time. Great job designers. You need to play the demo and get into the game. I do believe you'll like it. I do believe this is now one of my favorite games.
I recommend this game!

This was an okay game. I have played a lot worse, but also a lot better. At the time it was the best offered. To tell you it was fun would be an exaggeration, but It did keep me occupied through a rainy day.
The graphics were okay. Nothing to really write home about and the sounds were very well done. Music went along with the action in the story, wasn't annoying so that's a plus.
The hidden objects were many and varied. So were extremely challenging and some were very easy. You have a fantastic mix of games and that makes it fun for me. They range from the standard list to shadows, to putting objects into the scene to get something, along with others. The mini games, again, some were hard and I skipped them (not a big fan of mini games anyway) and some were easy enough that I did complete them. They too were varied, but nothing really new and exciting. You have an interactive map which will tell you where things are to be done and will transport you there. No journal, but honestly you didn't need one. There is a task button that will kind of help you along. The hint button is a great assist and recharges quickly. Always a plus in my book.
The story, you can read what Big Fish writes concerning the main points. It was kind of interesting. It stretches what I learned in school about the Gods of Olympus, but it's there story and they can tell it anyway they want, so there. I was really disappointed in the ending. You defeat the demon and wham, you're sitting on a beach having a drink. The End. The one aspect of the game I loved is it had a male as the hero. Those are few and far between.
All in all, it is a decent game. Not up to what I expect from Blam, but if there is a sale or you have a free game about to expire I recommend it. At least give the demo a try and see what you think.
I recommend this game!
