First of all this review is based on playing the 'demo' only. I knew right away that it was going to be a 'purchase' for me. Because it DIDN'T have what I have come to think of as the 'dreaded 'three P's'.....'Portals', 'Pink & Purple' scenes throughout & 'Pets'!
Yes....you do acquire a leopard 'helper' but without giving the storyline away it fits right in with the game and I don't see where I have to dress him up. In fact, he comes in quite handy and really adds to the overall gameplay.
The graphics, so far, are bright and seem to be very in keeping with the Mayan period.
I really like the interactive HO scenes.....rather than just the 'same old' lists and you do have the option of playing Mahjong instead if you wish.
The puzzles are fun...not too easy, not too hard and also fit in with the storyline.
We have our 'morphing' objects and Totem poles that turn into little birds when you touch them with your cursor.
But and this is a BIG BUT for me....we seem to have a good story going here, inventory that is 'quickly' used, and a 'developer' that maybe listened to some of us customers!
Thanks for bringing us this one BFG and Elefun.......much appreciated!
I recommend this game!

I have just completed the game and for the first time in a long time I am sorry to see a game end.
It 'had me' right from the beginning and never let go OR let down.
The quality of graphics is superb and a lot of thought obviously went into making this game interesting & fun to play. This is a SE worthy of CE quality!
Not too many HO scenes, but lots of fantastic puzzles as well as a VERY handy 'Transporter' map. And in this game you need it....so many places to go & things to do!
And I loved the 'connect the dots' idea for finding the 'Amulet' pieces.
The developers don't have you 'wasting' a lot of time running around looking for 'parts' that will be integral to game play, and they are fun to do. I, for one, certainly hope that they don't change this format in future sequels. Because it looks like there IS going to be a sequel here and I can hardly wait for it to come out.
I recommend this game!

I am not one of the few that give reviews constantly....in fact, I very seldom offer my two cents worth unless I find a game really good or really bad.
In my humble opinion this game falls into the former. I didn't even finish the 'demo' before going to buy it.
I'm even ordering in Pizza so I can continue playing without interruptions.
Right from the opening I was drawn in.....the 'Art Work' is superb as usual from this developer. Very realistic characters, and they really are! Characters that is! You WANT to talk to them.
I personally like that the HO scenes aren't your usual 'junk piles' plus you do have the option of 'Match 3' if you want....I didn't. The Inventory that you pick up, so far at least, seems to be quickly used....not sitting there forever leaving you to wonder what it will be used for.
I've enjoyed the 'Puzzles' that I've come across. They haven't left me scratching my head as how am I going to complete this one?
The game progresses in a linear fashion which at my age is appreciated.
I won't go into all the bells & whistles that they've put into this game.....it's been done by other reviewers already.
But....for my moneys worth....this is a VERY worthy offering and a game that can be played & replayed.
Thank you developers & Big Fish Games for bringing us this one!
I recommend this game!

And.....it should be......this is a far cry from a Collector's Edition!
Somehow, I managed to work my way through this game, hoping that it would get better and give me my money's worth.
No such luck. The story is totally implausible, the tasks don't make ANY sense as far as the story goes. In fact, I used the map just to jump to where I had to go next - that's how predictable it was.
And by the time you FINALLY get to the 'Bonus Content' you feel that the developers were as fed up with the game as you are because it is just thrown together in such a manner that I actually wondered if this was a game that had been currently developed or was some first effort 10 years ago that they decided to 'try' on us now.
It's a shame...because there IS potential here...in some of the mini-games for example but in my opinion they just didn't pull it together enough to make it really good.
I don't recommend this game.

I don't usually take time out in the middle of a game to review it...this one....I just HAD to.
It really does have all the 'bells & whistles' of a CE at a SE price. PLUS an interesting storyline that keeps you going.
Yes, you travel to the Arctic....br-r-r-r....to search for your Grandfather and find out what exactly is going on with this seemingly ill-fated expedition.
You are given a map....that allows you to 'jump' to locations where there is something to do. A journal that keeps track of everything. Be sure to read it!
Along the way, you can collect missing relics, beyond objects, and the MOST fun coins. These coins go into a 'piggy bank' for which you can purchase goodies for your little penguin friend sitting in the igloo patiently waiting for you.
If you don't want to do the HOS scenes then you can switch to puzzles.
I personally really like this game and HOPE to see more of them coming out.
It's fun, fresh and non-stressful.
Good work Dev's.
I recommend this game!

I started out really enjoying this game. It offered so much in the way of 'building' up your property, meeting neighbors, interesting tasks - and then - they offered a 'special' on 'Gold' which I did need to expand my property. So I bought some. And what do you know?! Previously, I could expand for 72 gold bars, then it went up to 92. Today, when I logged in the same property was valued at 108 gold bars! What's up with that? To top it off all my 'tasks' seem to involve doing the scenes in 'blitz' mode....or of course I have the option of 'skipping' these tasks for a price.....in Gold of course! At this point the game has completely lost the fun factor for me and I just wish that there was some way I could send my neighbors MY gold, so I could call it quits. I see that a lot of people have gotten really far in the game.....so maybe it's just my lack of skill. But as far as I'm concerned, enter the DARK MANOR at your own risk - There is someone/something there just WAITING to take your money.
The game had a lot of potential.....it just gets too expensive to keep up.
I don't recommend this game.

I've only played part of the demo, but have already bought this game & just had to write a review. It's another excellent offering from a great developer.
You have this man kidnapping young women....now your sister....supposedly because he lost his finance. He has a rather 'nasty' cat helping him in this endeavour. It's up to you to stop him.
The graphics are really great...very crisp and clear, the music unobtrusive. You have your usual 3 modes of play, an interactive map...that shows you where you have tasks to perform, your morphing objects...that come up quite suddenly, so be prepared!
The HOS, so far, are the type where you put things together to make something. And the puzzles.....here is where these Dev's really outdo themselves. They are fun, fresh, new!
With the 'special' on this weekend there is no reason not to buy this game.
I recommend this game!

I don't know if the Dev's originally thought about going for a CE and then changed their minds, but this little jewel has a lot of bells & whistles!
While the storyline, so far as I've gotten, is not all that new..... You've crash landed with an air balloon in an environment with a witch - that's where similarities end. You're given a couple of 'helpful' tools to 'keep' in your inventory - a lighter & a knife, and you immediately meet a raccoon who becomes your 'hint' - directional and otherwise.
There are fireflies to collect along the way and more puzzles than HOS. Once completed, the puzzles can be replayed from the Main Menu. This in it's self is a treat.
True.....They are not all that hard....but some are different and they are fun! And so far seem to be applicable to the game play.
You have a Journal that keeps track of things for you.
All in all this promises to be a worthy adventure, and I for one look forward to seeing more from these Dev's.
I recommend this game!

The story opens with you going to help an old friend on an unfriendly island beset with 'witchcraft'. As explained by previous reviewers you have to 'help' the villagers along the way in order to progress in the game. For me, this is part of the FUN! The characters are so amusing, albeit old style hand drawn. They do talk to you. I had no trouble finding articles needed on my laptop and when I clicked on 'wide screen' it did fill my whole screen.
The game has no little 'extras' that we've come to expect but the story seems like a good one with a good flow and I for one will buy it. There is a certain suspense attached to the game and I want to see how it turns out.
Sometimes, less is more.
I recommend this game!

For lovers of Hidden Object Games, this one is a MUST!
I found the storyline not only fun but entertaining as well. The cat in the scenes is not only cute but helpful.
True, your HOST is a little grating at times, but thats just part of the games charm as far as I am concerned.
AND you have the added bonus of fixing up the Inn to your specifications.
I would definitley buy this game at ANY price - I enjoyed it that much. I know I will be looking for more from the makers of this one.
I recommend this game!
