This has become one of my favorite games. I loved everything about it. For this one, I have to give 2 thumbs up to the critics of this game because without you guys, I probably wouldn't have purchased it. This game was a Bonus Deal that was suggested after purchasing another game. I'm quite leery of those games, unless I've already played them. Because of your great reviews, I took a chance. And I am SO GLAD I did! I really enjoyed it from beginning to end! The visuals were sharp and beautiful, as I like them. The challenge of the HOS & mini games were just perfect for me. I really enjoyed the mini games in this one because it was a little different compared to the other games. The game itself already had its own storyline. But the minigames went into further details about how the co-star of the game came to be the person he was. It was like a mini story within a story enhanced by a hidden object scene. Totally awesome. The storyline itself was cohesive and made perfect sense. Very easy to follow. The only thing I could possibly complain about was that it didn't have an interactive map, (which would have been helpful at certain times). But everything else was so great, I really didn't mind it at all. This was a great buy. You CANNOT go wrong purchasing this game. Go get it & enjoy it!
I won't say I hated the game. But I disliked it an awful lot. Maybe I have gotten spoiled with some of the other HOG I've played. Because this game is not user-friendly when it comes to getting any type of assistance. First of all, the setting is a dark one as far as the visual aspect of the game. I don't care for that. But for this game, I get it. What little dialogue there was, was brief. What I mean is, when the granddaughter had a thought, her dialogue quickly flashed on the screen - giving you NO time whatsoever to read what she said. In other games, most times it is helpful to see what they are thinking because it just may have some type of clues or hints as to what you need or what you should do next. It did have a diary. But I didn't find it that helpful as far as clues. It was just for storyline purposes only. There is a map included that shows you points of interest, where mini games are, and where you've been. I guess that was only ok...Now get this. The hint button... What hint button? Oh yeah, there's one. But ONLY during the hidden object scenes! My skill level is increasing as far as HOG are concerned. But sometimes I need some help during the course of the game. And I definitely needed some assistance in the 45 minutes I played. In other HOG I've played, once you locate an item, the locale of where you find the item, (unless there's a note, letter, or code of some sort), is no longer available for you to "re-search." There would be no point to re-search because you already have what you need. Well, not in this game. The search locations are always there for you to explore even though NOTHING useful is there. I hope grandma is ok at the end of this game because I will NEVER find out! I DO NOT recommend this game. But if I did, I would definitely leave it to the experts on this one! It was a challenge for me. But more so because of what I believe the game lacked, my patience, and having little to no assistance.
Louis the Clown and Mr. Dudley are back in an all-new adventure! Travel through the dark corners of history's most famous fairytales to rescue children trapped in a frightening netherworld!
I played the trial period when it first came out, but decided not to purchase it right away. I figured it would be just as great as the other Weird Park game. I paused on purchasing it straightaway, (which I have as of this review), because as others have written, I could NOT play fullscreen because the program would not let me access the inventory list. So I had to play in a somewhat minimized setting. I figured if I did purchase it, it would be with a game credit. It was worth it. The graphics were full of vibrant, sharp colors - which I absolutely love! The storyline had a weird twist on the fables that we have all grown up on. It was a fun game to play, (as I initially thought). If you liked the first one, I have no doubts you will enjoy this one as well. Go get it!
I couldn't get into the other Dark Parable games as I did this one. I am not crazy about HOS where I have to put the item together. But the storyline itself intrigued me enough to purchase it, unlike the others. I thought it was an awesome & interesting twist to bring forth a character from another Dark Parables game into this game. Maybe that's a trademark of theirs that I don't know about. But I liked it. I wasn't crazy about the MULTITUDE of HOS, however. Maybe if it was the standard HOS that other games have, it would have been more tolerable for me. But I endured it. It does seem like Dark Parable Games are "unending." There seems to always be a cliffhanger for the next installment. I think that's neat. This is the second one I've played and they both seem to indicate another installment. Overall, I don't think one could go wrong with purchasing this game. So go get it!
This game was ok. I thank God for having trial versions of the games before we buy them. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't awful by any means. Although I am not going to add it to my collection of games, I admit I am a little curious to how it ends. I just don't want to purchase it to find out. The visuals were excellent, (as usual from the Blue Tea Games I have played). The storyline had me intrigued somewhat. You will just have to see for yourself on this one. As for me, I pass.
After playing the trial version of the game, I decided this wasn't the game for me. The visual aspects of the game were perfect. I just couldn't really get in to this one. I just did not care for the back & forth aspects of the game. If I were more in to it, I probably wouldn't have minded it. The storyline wasn't strong enough for me to commit to buying it, (even though it was 1/2 off this weekend). This game has great reviews from others. So maybe it wasn't just for me. I only recommend playing the trial version before committing to buying it. Otherwise, I do not recommend this one.
I liked this game during my 1 hour trial period, so I proceeded to go ahead and purchase it. After coming back to it, in a day or two, & after trying out a few other games, I once again began playing the game. But I began to wonder why I bought it. As I continued to play, I rediscovered why I did. The graphics were great. The tale was cohesive. It had a couple of twists in the storyline, and it also explained why The Dark Piper was the way he was. Nice tie in. I also liked the fact that there was a "hint accelerator". I forgot about it most times to tell you the truth. But good to know there was a little something "extra" to help you out or to speed things along. Blue Tea Games done a good job with this one & I would definitely recommend it. Enjoy!
I had a great time playing this game. The storyline was awesome. It was like a good book with an interesting twist at the end. It reminded me of a movie Gary Sinise starred in a long while back. Anyway, the hidden object scenes were fun. I always liked the HOG that gives you objects to match up with the correct "counterpart", so to speak. I also like games that have the "hidden beyond" objects. And for the first time, I found them all. Of course it helped a lot with the map that was provided. Not only did the map allow you to go directly to a scene you already visited, but it also let you know which scenes you had tasks to fulfill & which ones had "hidden beyond objects". SO SO grateful for the map in this one! Not only for the former mentioned reasons. But also because there were so may scenes, it would have taken forever to travel back to certain areas! All in all, a great game to purchase! Go get it!
Overall, I really liked the game. The visuals were good, but not as great, or as sharp, as I have seen with other games. (Very important for me). The storyline was cohesive and simple to follow. The hidden object scenes were neither complex or simple. It was well worth the purchase.
I enjoyed all facets of the game. I love exquisite visuals in a game, and this was one of the best I've played. The storyline was great. I enjoyed the fact of having "good" statues and "bad" statues. Overall a good game to purchase.
