I rarely really dislike a game but this is an exception. Fortunately I used a coupon for it. The game started out ok and then seemed to degenerate into a constant series of HO scenes with the goal of getting these huge flowers, taking them back to main screen and making more serum. In order to get the serum you have to keep playing the same game of fitting sort of molecules together. You did keep going to some new locations but also revisited the same sites. Many of the scenes were dark and the objects hard to see even after hitting the hint button and many were barely visible around the edges of the screen. If you are a huge fan of HO games then this might be great for you. As you may have guessed I am not.

The graphics in this game are worth the purchase. The colors are beautiful and the setting is so well done. I enjoyed just looking at each setting. Voices were also well done.
Game play was fun and not too difficult. Some of the puzzles were not my favorite types. About the only negative thing I can say.

Based on playing the demo.
Even though I only played the demo I can tell the rest of this game has to be great. Kept telling myself to stop playing so I would not have to start over and replay all of it.
The graphics were extremely clear. The story already has a twist just in the demo.
Looking forward to playing it. And yes, it may be one of the best of the year.

Based on the reviews I decided to try this. It is so great. I had a wonderful time. The graphics are beautiful, the sound is good. There are many items to collect as you go along and many things to figure out. Not really difficult but enough to keep you thinking. There are some incredible whimsical creatures in the scenes. Even if you do not have to use them they are fun to click on and try. Actually laughed out loud a couple of times. What a treat. And did I say this is based on playing about 30 minutes of the game? Definite buy for me even though I rarely buy CE games.

Based on playing the excerpt only.
Since I did not play the entire game I am not able to comment on the length or extra game. What I did play I enjoyed immensely. The graphics were great as were the voices. I always play the demo in easy but I think this one definitely could be bumped up . It seemed a little too easy. The pace of gameplay is good. It just seems to keep moving at an interesting pace. I thought some of the negative reviews were unwarranted with regard to just the quality of the game regardless of the length.
I think that if you try it out you will want to buy it even if you wait for the SE.

Started the game without much enthusiasm for what seemed another abandoned hotel and another remote location. Wow was I wrong. This game is anything but boring. Before I knew it I had gone through the preview and wanted more....There are so many unusual twists in this game that it is difficult to guess where it is going. I am still playing and still loving it. Don't overlook the beginning of the game when it is said that your own fears are what is keeping you imprisoned. Hope it is part of the denouement

Somehow I missed this when it came out and found it in a BFG feature. It is a great game. The graphics are really sharp and clear and the screen bright. HO items where all visible. Games fun. Voices are very good. The subject matter was a nice change of pace from what I have had lately. There is a lot of back and forth but the menu makes it very easy to do. I was really sorry to finish it.

Review is based on playing demo.
I went into this game with a little skeptcism based on the description of the plot. But I have found that I am enjoying it greatly. The visuals are beautiful and crisp. Wish all games were so. I do have to take a little off for the sometimes overdone color. It can be a little much at times.
The game play flows nicely and so far most of the back and forth has been in a limited area at a time. The storyline is good if not special, although the MerPrincess is well done. There is a variety of puzzles and they are well placed so you do not feel inundated with one after the other. There was one puzzle that I just never quite got and skipped. If I can I will try it later.

I thought this was an excellent game overall. I had not loved the first Bonfire Stories so I was wary about this one. Playing the first part of he game you would never have guessed that it would end the way it did. So many games are predictable that it was refreshing to have such an unusual story line. Graphics, music, voice overs were very well done. My only complaint was that you did get objects far ahead of needing them and I would forget where they were needed so had to ponder the map. Thank goodness there was one! As the game progressed there seemed to a lot of back and forth and using the map saved having to keep navigating through the rooms. But that is minor.

I really enjoyed playing this game. Not so many HO scenes and lots to do. Usually I am not a great fan of the unlocked extra game but this one was an exception. Really felt like you were out there on that mountain in the wind. I am a mystery fan so the theme was right. Also it was nice to just have a game that was in real time rather than a make believe world.
The only reasons I did not give it 5 stars were maybe just personal to me. The first was that you frequently picked up objects that you did not need to use for a long time. When I realized I needed to finally use it I could visualize the location but could not remember which scene it was in. The second bothersome thing was zooming in to scenes to use items. If you made a mistake or accidentally clicked wrong the screen went back to normal and you had to zoom in a second time. Neither of these are serious issues but over the course of the game I just became tired of both.
I recommend the game and believe you will thoroughly enjoy it so just approach it with those 2 things in mind.
