This is such a good game! Very very taxing and hard as far as I'm concerned (other brainboxes might think differently?) and I would have been happier with a jump-map but the controls were good enough to make things less difficult in this respect. I think most people would either use the hint button a lot or might benefit from the walkthrough that Fish thoughtfully provide (I wonder why? lol). Try it and I bet you buy it!

Only played the demo and read the reviews (2) so far but I'm gonna buy it in a moment cos this is SUCH a gas!!!!!! It's different from most previous games I've played and won't be everyones cup of tea but it caught my interest right from the word go and hasn't let me stop to draw breath since, so I had to stop and write this to give me a break! I don't often give 5 stars, especially without playing the full game, but no hesitation with this one! Try the demo - you'll find out almost immediately if it's for you or not (smiles) - but a word of warning - definitely not for those of a nervous disposition!

I really enjoyed this game as its such fun! Despite a few time-line inaccuracies, particularly a reference to Shakespeare and Romeo and Juliet, plus my wonderment that the heroine could possibly have played with Francis Drake as a youngster since she apparently lived in Stratford-on-Avon whereas Drake lived near Tavistock till he was about 13 when he went to sea - this is such a jolly romp I went along with such follies! The puzzles and HOS's were mostly okay without being ridiculously hard and, since I have only played the demo so far, I find that I really want to find out more of the story! The graphics are clear without all those fairybook colours that appear in so many games these days, and I liked the balance and combination of humour and horror which wouldn't usually work for me but did this time! I'm going to buy this - probably as a CE - but if you're wondering why I haven't given it 5 stars it's because for me that top rating would indicate a perfect game which this isn't! It's good fun though as Ive said so try it at least and see if you agree?

This review is after playing the demo only! Nice game although I didn't find many of the puzzles etc very hard. I liked the idea that the game is a little "old school" as it is set in 1964, so it all seemed quite appropriate to me! I've noticed that some seem to have the idea that there are several anachronisms in the game - so lets set the record straight! Solar Power has been around since the 19th Century and was becoming quite sophisticates by the 1950's (the Telstar satellite was powered by solar energy in 1962!) Card keys for locks were in use at least as early as 1954, mainly in car parks for raising the barrier. I have my usual 2 problems with this game though it seems to be a problem for me in most games - if it were me doing the investigating and I came across a knife, screwdriver, etc I wouldn't just use them once then lose them especially since it would be very likely that I would need them again very soon! Also, the bizarre ways in which, and places that, the devs seem to think people hide things is way beyond logic! How often does Laura visit her boss? Cos she sure doesn't seem to know how to get into the office!!!! I may well buy when I can get a good deal on this and I suggest all you fishies give it a go and see what you think!

I sometimes wonder what BF fans really do want! I have had the impression recently that what WASN'T wanted were : cute helpers, pinks and blues, fairy tales and the "same old games". Well, here you are - none of these apply, yet most of you seem to hate this game from the reviews so far! I am only basing it on the demo so far but I didn't seem to have a problem with this game although I do agree there is too much dialogue! However, since most of that is irrelevant (something I have found to be true in most cut-scenes in most games!) I just clicked quickly through it - no problem! The puzzles were fairly easy (so far anyway!) - the only one I took a while over was very near the beginning but once I looked VERY closely at the screen that was easy too! Perhaps some of you are happy to follow the same old format and unhappy when faced with something different? I do wonder how long it might be as it seemed to download in double-quick time and took very little space but that may be the result of no real animation in the game and few voiceovers. I may buy this game - as yet undecided - but I think its worth at least a look at the demo, please don't dismiss it on the basis of these reviews!

Interesting game but ultimately I found I really care about the characters and couldn't understand why anyone would get mixed up in the situation in the first place! The pluses were : jump map, good Hint system, decent (not brilliant!) HOS. Minuses : graphics could be better (just my opinion!), helper not my cup of tea thanks - I always feel a helper is a bit of a cheat to get round situations where the developer couldn't be bothered to think up a logical way of solving the problem, no VO's! I've got a feeling this will be one of those games that will totally divide opinion, so I recommend that you try the demo and see how you feel! :

If you like an imaginative and logical story-line then don't go near this one! Admittedly I only played the demo but I really couldnt contemplate actually spending money on this drivel! I got the impression the developers thought they had some interesting puzzles (they didn't!) and threw together a story with about 5 seconds thought! I've always hated games that make little sense - how many times have we seen people in these games hide their spare front door key in a box located 5 streets away? - and this steps over that line in almost every way! The graphics and animations are second-rate, the voices are decidedly stereo-typed and I finished the demo in no time at all! Overall one of the worst HOGs in quite a while, sad to say! I would only recommend it for a beginner and even then I would be worried that it might put them off for life! Enjoy! lol

Brilliant! If you're looking for something a bit different, like a challenge and enjoy getting frightened on a regular basis then take a look at this game! I'm not going to try to describe it, you will have to see for yourself! Suffice to say it challenged me and I suspect most of you will find the same. I have never seen a game like this before and I've bought it on the strength of the trial (which this review is based on as I haven't had time to play the full game ................... yet)!

I looked at the reviews before I played the demo and expected the worst mess of the century - it wasn't! Yes there was an awful lot of HO's and most were repeated but the complaint that objects were too small and difficult to find suggests that you lot have had it way too easy of late because although hard the HO's were not impossible, you just had to get used to the way the dev treated such scenes. The game followed a logical sequence and though I didn't like the absence of voice-overs I found the overall feel of the game to be quite charming in an old-school kind of way! It was also a refreshing change to find a storyline that had no hint of the supernatural (I think there are far too many fairies, dragons, witches, goblins etc etc these days) and no "little helper" either!!! I only played the demo so I have no idea where the story went which would have been the main point of purchase. Overall not a great game but not as terrible as some suggest, but I would only recommend it to players who are nuts about HO's. I may consider buying it as a freebie or on sale but not at the moment. Try it and see is all I can say!!!
