I really appreciated all the extras they included in this SE. It felt like I was given a customer appreciation gift. I had been worried that it would be short or really blah since they added the extras, but it was just as good as any CE out there and I actually enjoyed the story. It has collectable symbols & if you collect 25 out of 35 it will unlock a secret room in the extras section. There is a bonus level that's not too long, but it closes up the story nicely. It wasn't the "game of the year", but it was alot of fun and a good level of challenge. I had to skip some puzzles because they were the kind that I'm really just no good at, but the ones I didn't skip were just challenging enough to take a few mins, but not get me frustrated. The HO scenes were the usual list with 1 or 2 interactives. Not too dark or blurry. I just really enjoyed this game and I recommend it to anyone who likes a basic HO Adventure game.
I didn't really expect this game to be all that good. It isn't the hit of the century but it is unique and I like that. Some of the puzzles are new to me, some are easy, some are obvious trial & error puzzles, none are really difficult. But thats ok with me since the HO scenes were done well.
I noticed that one reviewer disliked the part where you use different weapons to defeat "animals", I don't like seeing animals hurt in games, not even spiders or bugs, but that's not what you were asked to do in this game. The "animals" were either stuffed "trophies" (which I don't like, but you see them in lots of other games and since I wasn't the one made to kill it I can deal with it), pictures or paintings, and you weren't "killing the animals", it was the demon using the depiction of the animals to keep you from proceeding, and you were using the typical weapons you would use for that specific animal to defeat the demon. You see the ghostly figure of the animals looking very demonic, not at all like real animals, so I didn't feel like I was murdering innocent animals.
There aren't alot HO scenes, thank goodness, and they are clear enough to see even though they're dark. They put a neat twist on it having sketches of the objects you need to find rather than just the word or picture. The graphics are great. That was a big surprise coming from a game made by Nevosoft. The hand was cool, but my favorite was the anatomical mannequin type thing, it really creeped me out. I played this game nonstop from start to finish, it just drew me in. I does have an annoying aspect, and that's the loading between sections of rooms. It isn't between every room thank goodness, but it goes through a 10-15 second loading screen every 4-5 rooms or so. Maybe it helps the game run better and the graphics look nicer when it doesn't have the entire collection of rooms loaded at all times. It was annoying at first but I got over it once I discovered the map & knew which areas it would have to load. It is a jump map, which is nice because then you can skip a few loading screens in between locations if you have to get to the other side of the house. I say give a shot, more than just 20 mins, because you can't learn anything about a game in less than 30 mins.
I love these types of puzzles! They can become really challenging when you get to the ones that are 100 blocks square. The only place I'v been able to find them until now are in Variety Puzzle books and it takes alot of lead to complete one of these on paper. When your done your hand hurts from holding a pencil for so long, but your oh so satisfied for having completed something so difficult. Thank You So Much for making one of my favorite puzzles available on my computer and making it user friendly and fun! I'm just so excited right now. No more buying entire books full of puzzles I don't like just to get 2 of these, and no more sore hands!
A UFO is rumored to have landed in the small town of Tundel and the mayor is trying to conceal it. Run your own journalistic investigation and learn the truth behind the event!
I played this game all the way through on BFG Streaming. And It was so much fun. So many funny characters. There was soooo much to do. The only complaint I have is how hard it is to remember where everything is and the map isn't very easy to navigate. Though the flag you can put on it to get directed to where you want to go is very helpful. If they had a list of which tasks are in which building that would fix a lot of the confusion. I would have everything I need to complete a task but couldn't find where the task needed to be done even though I had been there before. lol So so so many tasks. I didn't even finish them all before I finished the game. You just have to finish enough of them to earn enough money to get to where you need to go. Anyhoo, I liked this game so much that even though I finished it already I'm going to buy it as the DD today. I want to see if I can complete all the tasks this time. I know I won't be bored by playing it again. It was too funny. I highly recommend.
I don't understand why this game is getting so many bad reviews. Someone even said there was too much hand holding. Maybe they forgot to say no to the tutorial because I haven't had any help at all. I am not a beginner, I'v been playing these games for years and I go through most games without having to use the hint. I haven't used the hint yet in this game, but I did have to do some searching to figure out where to go and what to do. Not once did any dialog or text tell me what to do. It's a great game so far! The graphics are just my style. I love these kinds of games, they are different and they don't bombard you with HO scenes. If you like games like the Twisted Lands series or Top Secret Finders, you might like this one. The puzzles so far are the usual, and are on the easier end of moderate difficulty. The HO scenes are clear and not too dark. They are somewhat interactive & some objects are pretty well hidden. The controls are smooth and the game runs very well. I'm really interested by the unique story line. I have never even heard of a HO Adventure Game with Zombies in it! That so great. Don't take the negative reviews too seriously. A lot of people dislike these kinds of games just because of the graphics. So they don't notice how good the game is. Try it out yourself. Give it a fair shot. Don't expect to hate it from the git-go. You might just love it like I do. Or you'll hate it like the others. Just be fair. I'm really excited about playing this game. I can hardly wait til tomorrow to get it. I don't want to get it now and waste a punch on my card. :)
I just finished this game and had to review it. That was a great story. The ending was very clever & it left it open for a sequel. When I first trialed this game I didn't think I would like it. The cursor doesn't always show when you can interact with something. After I played for awhile though, I got used to it and actually enjoyed the extra challenge of not knowing what I was supposed to be picking up in the room. There wasn't too much clutter everywhere so I didn't have to click everywhere to find what I needed either. This setting of this game and the over all atmosphere was great. I played it start to finish. Not a very long game though, but long enough that I don't feel cheated. I suggest at least trialing it. It really was a lot of fun.
Review of Demo: I trialed the demo of this game & it seemed pretty good, I don't remember why I thought to wait for the SE, maybe I wasn't interested in the bonus content. Anyhoo.. This game is very linear, in a very good way. It doesn't restrict you from doing anything just to stay on track, which is my usual complaint about linear games. You use your inventory items relatively quickly. You aren't left wondering "Which of the 30 tasks that I have am I able to complete now, if any?" You usually have no more than 4 tasks at a time. When you find a locked gate or door, you get what you need to open it before too long. This set up makes for a very comfortable game. I haven't felt frustrated at all. The puzzles are decent. Most are easy-moderate difficulty, a few hard ones. Not too many HO scenes, and I have yet to get a penalty for rapid clicks. Which for me is a big plus. I became tired of HO scenes awhile back but I still love the adventure parts of the games. So now I'm guilty of just clicking on the objects that stick out until I'v completed the scene. So no click penalty is very nice. Why force those that don't like those scenes to slow down, get frustrated and not enjoy it one bit. Especially in games that have far too many HO scenes, you just get done with one long boring click penalty fest and have to go through another. I am happy to say this game is not like that AT ALL. The story is interesting. I am rather curious as to what happens at the end. The characters are well drawn, I can't stand the artwork in some games that make the characters look like their skin on their face is melting off, or a bad sculpture. I highly recommend this game.

Whoever thought that killing a rat with a rock was a good task to put in a game should be fired. It's bad enough that kids are being numbed to violence these days, but now you want to teach them that killing animals is perfectly normal? I might have liked this game but I will in no way support a game that has something like this. If it had just scared the rat away it would have been fine. I'v played many games that involve scaring animals away and I'd even be ok with an animal dying in a game, if it wasn't killed by a person. Killed by an accident or by another animal, ok that I can deal with. MAYBE I'd even be ok with the villain in a game killing an animal, because that teaches that only bad people do such horrible things. But having the PLAYER kill an animal, even a rat, is terrible. Shame on you.
Unlike most, I like these kinds of graphics and strange, different stories. And I like a lot of games that most dislike. But this one gave WAY too much direction, and very specific direction at that. I usually play in casual mode because, although I don't use the hint button very often, when I do I want to be able to use it as often as I want. But in this one there was so much hand holding I was going to switch to the hardest mode, only to find out there is no difficulty setting. In the one game that actually needs it. I'v played children's games in easy mode that were harder and had less hand holding. The lady talked WAY too much and gave away too much info. I didn't have to think AT ALL. I just did what I was told. Not fun. Don't they know that the fun of these games is figuring out the mystery for yourself. Feeling the accomplishment of figuring out what to do next. Not following directions and constantly looking for hidden objects. "I need a crow bar to open that vent", oh look there's a glowing pile of junk, I bet there's a crowbar in it... blaaaaaaah.... In another review I read, someone mentioned the "Lamp" that actually turns out to be a FLASHLIGHT. Yeah I rolled my eyes too. And I had the same thought about the VO too, they're being done by in "American" English, so why are the objects titled in "English" English? If the VO were done by a Brit, I'd have known to look for a flashlight called a "Lamp". I'm really bummed because I think if it weren't for how easy they made it, It could have been very good. I like games that are clean and uncluttered. I like games that have a different story. I like games with these graphics! Why did they have to ruin a good game?! I hope they learn from this a try again. Next time don't assume your players are stupid. Leave a little to the imagination.
This game was spectacular! The artwork was gritty and beautiful. And I call it artwork instead of graphics because that's what it looked like to me, Art. The puzzles and hidden object scenes were fun and just the right amount of difficulty. It was the kind of game that lets you feel like your actually going through it. I got lost a few times but not because the game was messed up or too hard, but because I didn't look at everything in a scene or go back to a room after I changed something in it. It Does Not hold your hand at all. So people may not like the lack of a Hint button outside of puzzles and HO scenes. I liked the challenge it presented. I had to actually work it out for myself. The layout of the building and the orientation when looking at the rooms made sense so I never got lost, I always knew how to get to where I needed to go. There were a few times that required some backtracking to the complete other side of the building but I didn't mind. It was just so beautiful. This is my very favorite type of HO Adventure game. It just has something special, the visual beauty, the atmosphere, the story. All of it comes together so well to make a wonderful game. It didn't feel short but apparently it was. When I saw my play time at the end it was only like 2.5 hrs. Short, but I had to put so much thought and effort into solving it and I had done so much thinking by the end, that it felt like a longer game. I HIGHLY recommend this game, even though it's short, you will not be disappointed. Just enjoy it. Really get into it.
