This game seems like it's a really good game in the making. Needs more work but a very good start indeed. The graphics are very pretty. It didn't seem too dark to me. Maybe the game came off as too dark because the first corridor you enter you need to find a light for & if you don't take the time to read the subtitles when you go in there, you won't know that. You might just think the whole game is that dark. The rest of the rooms are just fine though, not exactly bright but not impossibly dark. I love these kinds of graphics, very soft edges without being blurry. Makes for a comfortable gaming experience, yet with a creepy atmosphere. I'm not sure if this is a new developer, but if it is, I think they just need some encouragement and support and I think they could end up being one of the better game developers out there. I hope people don't decide to skip over this game due to a less than spectacular release. I think a lot of people will really like it. Just don't give up after only 10 mins. Give it a chance & see for yourself about this one. I haven't played the entire game yet so I don't have any idea of how long it is. I just wanted to get my review on here ASAP to show that it is actually a pretty good game.
I recommend this game!

I love the story of Romeo & Juliet and they seem to stick to the plot pretty well so I'm happy there. I didn't come across any HO scenes during the trial which is fine by me. I get tired of them. Leaving this as a pure Adventure game, and by those standards its fun, but kinda lacking. you can't pick up ANYTHING unless you need it now. And the areas you have to search in are pretty small, not many scenes in each chapter, and those scenes only have a few things to click on, making the game feel tiny and sparse. This could have been an awesome game if they had made it less linear & strict. Linear can be good as long as it doesn't restrict the game play, which is what it does in this game. I like to enjoy my games and relax, not be constantly told "I don't need this yet" when there isn't much direction given, so I have to click on everything to figure out what I need to do next. If that kind of thing doesn't bother you then you may like this game quite a bit. I really could have loved this game if I could have just played the game.
I recommend this game!

What could anyone possibly find wrong with this game? It's great! Ok so Martys Moms acting was way over the top. But ITS A GAME not a movie. Plus she's playing the part of one of those hokey psychics and if anyone has ever seen them, that's pretty much how they act. So she was actually pretty dead on with her portrayal. lol
Anyway the game itself is awesome! Just because you have to use the map to get to some locations is no reason to dislike it. Its a different game, I don't want all my games the same. They probably made it that way in response to all the complaints about backtracking. I loved the puzzles in the visions. And matching the drawings was fun. I especially love that it takes up the whole screen, the graphics are perfect. I wouldn't change a thing about this game. I wish everyone would vote some of the good reviews to the front page because all those bad reviews on the front page are keeping people from a great game. Thats why I didn't even TRY this game for so long. Now I regret it. I'm never going to judge a game based on the reviews again if this is the kind of game they say is bad. This is now my 3rd fav game. My 1st fav is Nightmare Adventures: The Turning Thorn & my 2nd fav is MCF: Escape From Ravenhurst, if that tells you anything.
I really hope people give this game a chance, It truly is an amazingly good game.
I recommend this game!

This isn't a series?! I hope they decide to make more! This game was great! As soon as I got over the sadness of it ending, I went to look for more in this series because the ending made it seem like there would be more, but nope, nothing. I'm so bummed. I loved the idea that I was interacting with the story being told. It was a lot of fun and I was very sad when it ended. I don't know if it was long or short since I played off and on until I finished it. It felt short to me, but that could just be because I was so into it I didn't want it to end. Even if it really was short, it was worth it. Especially as the daily deal. I feel lucky to have gotten it for $3 since I'd pay full price for it if I had to. The graphics are beautiful and well drawn, each location seemed magical.
The voice acting was great. As if they got real citizens from New Orleans. The Characters were well drawn & interesting. Pretty good story too. There aren't very many puzzles, mostly just HO. That usually ruins a game for me, when its most HO but this game was fun anyway. Didn't get tedious, like so many HOGs do these days.
I recommend this game!

I played this game on my phone so I'm not sure this review will be allowed to be posted. Just thought I'd give it a try. I thought this game was so unique. The characters are funny and the puzzles are enjoyable. I laughed so many times during this game. It isn't your usual kind of HO Adventure type game. You don't really walk through areas, your just put in an area and have to look for stuff and do puzzles. It's more like a straight HOG with a tiny Adventure thrown in. I recommend this for the Catch of the Week but not so much for full price since I thought it was shorter than most other games. I'm glad they have this game as the "Catch" this week, it needs more people to know about it and enjoy it.
I recommend this game!

This game gave me the creeps and I'm used to some really sick stuff. It's definitely not for those who have weak constitutions or those who get upset by nasty thoughts. It's kind of old school, but totally unique. I'v never played anything like this EVER. It's going on my Buy List, but for when I'v got an extra credit since I'm limited on what I can spend money on so I pay for the guaranteed long games. And I use my free game codes and credits on nifty strange games like these. I can't imagine it could be that long seeing how big the area you can search is. There's just one location with different rooms to open up. But I could be wrong, it could be the longest game ever for all I know, I'm just basing this on past experience. If you have an extra credit or if you aren't strapped for cash buy it, after you try the demo, because it is totally an acquired taste.
I recommend this game!

Normally I go for the darker, creepier games but when I was playing the trial of this one and first walked onto the castle grounds, oh wow. I was stunned. It was just like a fairy tale. I'v never been the kind of girl who was into princesses and all that, but I do love beauty and this game has some beautiful artwork. I spent 20 mins just walking around the grounds looking at stuff.
But don't be discouraged, this isn't a game that has great artwork to make up for a boring game. It was a lot of fun. I played it straight through to the end. The story drew me in and I wanted to know what would happen.
It wasn't the most challenging game. 1 or 2 of the puzzles were difficult for me. The rest were normal difficulty. It wasn't too simply of a game though either. Perfect for enjoying with just a little challenge.
Quite a few HO scenes toward the end which got a bit annoying for me since I'm getting tired of them, so it was nice to have the option of a different game to play. Not exactly match 3 but the kind that you click on groups of 3 or more blocks to make them disappear.
Those who aren't tired of HOs will love this game even more than I did.
I HIGHLY recommend this game.

This game is great. I'v been getting tired of HOs but still enjoy them in moderation and this game has the perfect amount of HO scenes. I'v been playing for just over an hour and have only had maybe 3 or 4 HO scenes. This game is more about figuring out what to do and mini games, rather than searching junk piles for hidden objects. It's a very linear game too. Which is sometimes a bad thing when it makes a game too easy and boring, but its done really well in this game. When you find a puzzle you need an object for, you usually find the object shortly after. Or vice versa. Each scene/area and it puzzles are usually completed before entering another scene/area. A great game for relaxing with a little challenge. The puzzles are sometimes really easy, sometimes medium difficulty. I haven't come across a really hard one yet. Which I'm fine with right now. Sometimes I want a really difficult challenge, sometimes I just want to feel like I'm accomplishing something, even if it's easy. :)
It isn't a very dark game, despite the dark villain. The graphics aren't the perfectly crisp, clear computer generated kind, but I think it gives it character. Everything is clear enough to see without squinting.
The story is ok. Not that great. Maybe its just me, but it didn't really grab my attention. I'm still enjoying it though.
Perfect game for this half off sale, but it would still be worth it at the full price.
I recommend this game!

I don't know what it is about this game, but I just couldn't get into it. It's a bummer really, because I only need 2 more punches for my free game and only 2 days to get them before my punch card expires. I was hoping the daily deals would help me with that. Maybe it'll get better farther into it, but I doubt it.
Well actually I do know what it is that I don't like about it, The graphics aren't very good, they're kinda fuzzy. And everything is gray and dull. I like crisp, colorful graphics. The puzzles aren't anything original. HO scenes are typical and fuzzy as well, barely interactive. The story seems like its just thrown in there occasionally to have a reason for all the puzzles and HO scenes. But a lot of people seem to like games like this. I don't, but that's just me. I'v gotten tired of HO and have gotten spoiled by a few great games. So maybe you'll like it. It isn't terrible, it's just not that special.
I don't recommend this game.

Review based on trial. I was happily surprised by this game. I thought it would just be HO scene after HO scene, Because the pictures on the game page only show HO scenes. (Hinting to BF that they should put a better variety of pics on here) Turns out its actually a pretty good game. The graphics are clear, the game play is smooth, & the puzzles make sense and have instructions in case you don't understand. The hint button tells you exactly what to do, instead of just saying "there's nothing to do in this location" which drives me nuts. That may be a negative aspect for some people that don't like hand holding, I prefer the hints that show just an arrow so I know what scene I need to do something in but have to figure out what for myself. I'm not sure about the storyline since they don't really get into it too much in the trial. I hope it gets better, since I'm going to buy it. It's perfect for the weekly $2.99 deal. It's not a very well known game and this way people will find this hidden gem. I gave it 4 stars because I'v played some amazing games and this one isn't quite as amazing as those, but it's still looking to be a pretty good game. I'v just been spoiled. I recommend this game, especially for the weekly deal.
I recommend this game!
