There is nothing wrong with this game other than it seems to me to be a kid's game. Everything in it was geared towards children, from the crayon colored coloring book drawings to the simple story and games.
Pros: VERY easy Simple story line "Area Cleared" signs pop up when you've finished a section VERY easy HOS Pretty graphics Characters do good deeds Music fits the time period Mini Games are very simple Goals are clearly stated Game advancement is linear Other characters join you and lend their talents Happy ending (of course)
Cons: Geared towards children, IMO Story like reading a child's storybook Way too easy
If you're a beginner or would like a game for a child 7-10, then this game is for you.
I'm a dog lover/professional trainer, so I was thrilled to see this dog themed game. I tried very hard to like it, but it annoyed me to the extreme. By the time I saved the bulldog only to find out I had to backtrack for the slingshot band, I was beyond angry at myself for buying this game.
Why I hated it: Jerky movement of characters Poorly drawn animals Dark, dark, dark tones No interactive map Lots of backtracking to find needed objects Finding keys only to have them break in the locks The music lulled me into zombieland The story was silly The games were too easy The HOS although not junk piles, were also too easy Minimal character interaction, very short story sequences which left me not caring about why the dogs were attacking everyone Did I mention the back and forth, back and forth, wasting of my time?
I'm really sorry I disliked this game, but I did. Made me want to growl.
I don't recommend this game.

I hated this game. I gave it a chance, I really did, in spite of the blue/gray/brown muddiness of the scenes, the childishly easy mini games, dreary HOS and the monotonous music. But after being given a map which was useless (it shows where you're at but does not allow jumping) and running back and forth one too many times, I uninstalled it asap and moved on.
Wow did I ever have a good time playing this game. It's the most intelligent, logically linear game I've played in a loooong time. It has everything. The story is AWESOME, the music, mood, puzzles, HOS, all great fun and necessary to the plot. The characters behaved in ways that I think real people would under similar circumstances; i.e. self-sacrificing for a child. I'm not going to give away too much, but I will say that even on expert level, I did not need the hint button and only skipped one head-scratching puzzle at the end. This is not to say that the game is easy, rather, I was determined to fully experience it by not allowing myself any helps. Several times during the game, when I was "stuck," I would think about what I would do under similar circumstances and voila! it would lead me to the next item. I really like that in a game. The ending is cool. I really like the way they "ended" it because I like the creep factor involved. By the end of the game, I felt satisfied with the experience, glad that I escaped and hungry for a sequel. There are only a few reasons I'm not giving this game five stars: there is no jump map, the characters are not drawn as well as I would have liked and there are no voice overs. If there had been, this would have been perfect.
I thoroughly enjoyed this game. The story line wasn't one of my favorites, but it did keep me moving happily along. The graphics, music, voice overs and atmosphere were good and added tension to the game. I was able to complete this game with only one hint which means the mini games are doable. I did have to spend a little time on two of them because I was determined not to skip any, but once I solved them, I went "duh" because I was making them harder than I needed to. I really enjoyed how the characters kept interacting with me as well as the interactive map which showed me where I could accomplish tasks and let me jump to where I needed to be. The HOS were crisp, clear and part of the story. They also had some tricky things you had to do in order to collect the hidden objects, which I really enjoy. If I had to say anything negative about this game, it would be my standard whine about the colors. I like a large palate and once again, the game devs kept the color scheme on the gray/brown/black side. I also didn't understand why the octopus was so angry but that may have been that I just didn't follow the story closely enough. Overall, this was a lot of fun for me and I think you'll enjoy it too.
It started well, with nice graphics, lots of colors and what promised to be an entertaining story, but...............then everything went silent. There are no voice overs, only cartoon-like characters with dialogue boxes. Okaayy, I can live with that if the game's other qualities are excellent. They're not. There is NO interactive map, a major annoyance to me as I hate running to and fro like a squirrel which forgot where it buried it's nuts. The music at first was nice, but soon turned into alternations between silence, wind blowing, creepy laughing, tinkling and a lullaby melody guaranteed to make your eyes get heavy. I literally began to nod off. I wanted to get involved in this game so as not to waste my money, but I couldn't even force myself to keep going. It was THAT boring. B.O.R.I.N.G. Waste of my money ......
After being disappointed by so many 5 star rated games, I wasn't too hopeful with this one. Boy, was I wrong! What a good game this is. It has everything. The first thing to hit my senses was the beautiful and stunning graphics in the opening scene. It's full of color, which these developers have used to convey the atmosphere of the story without falling back on the standard shades of black and brown seen in so many other tedious games. The map is great! It is interactive, allows you to see where you need to go, lets you jump to the location and keeps you from wasting time running back and forth. The story, which I thought would bore me, actually kept me involved. There are plenty of characters talking to you to make you feel as if you really are in their world. I loved, loved, loved the guy trying to kill me throughout....added realism because we all know in truth, the bad guys would be trying to get us if we were on their trail The music is beautiful and embellishes game play in a way I haven't experienced in a long time. It conveys urgency, drama and tragedy....gorgeous. The HOS are colorful, but they are junk piles, but not so junky that they lose their visual beauty. They are a pleasure to work with and there are objects in the HOS which need to be found using some creative thinking, which I adored. All of the puzzles are doable with some thoughtful reasoning and I did NOT need to use the skip or hint buttons even though I was playing in advanced mode. This game also does the one thing that ALWAYS makes me give an extra star....they incorporated my name into the game during the story line. I've seen that on one other puzzle and I love it because it makes the game seem more personal while at the same time enhancing the feeling that I am part of their journey.
In summary, this game was intelligent, logical, beautiful, fun and made me use my creative thinking to solve the puzzles.
When I started this game, I was pretty satisfied with the way it was going, but over time, I simply became annoyed with it. Although I played in Advanced Mode, I did not need any hints, which is good. The graphics are fine although the actors' mouths are clearly not speaking English... a small point. The story was fantasy and entertaining for a while. So what annoyed me? The length of time between when you find something for which you need a tool and when you are actually allowed to find it. It kept me running back and forth, which I detest in a game. By the time I released Jeremy (with what I thought was a totally implausible method) I was forcing myself to finish the game. I get so bored when the story bogs down in back and forthing, that I can't enjoy it. It becomes a chore to complete. I'm going to recommend this game because it's obviously a good game, just not for me.
Did I download a different game than that which has received 5 stars? I have got to stop buying games based on rating and always, always play the demos. This game has virtually no music, but it does have lots of dripping sounds and wind. The cut scenes are a blurry mess and the story is totally unbelievable even for a fantasy game. The HOS are junk piles, sometimes in water, but always gray and brown muddy tones which make the scenes totally void of interest. That's about all I can honestly say about this game as I uninstalled it after the first 15 minutes. I thought it was that bad.
