Downloaded this by accident and kept playing to the end just because I paid for it. MT did not fail to disappoint. I found this game to be poorly crafted with very little in the way of challenge and the storyline was disjointed. Note to self to never pick a MT game again.
I like a good modern setting for games and this appealed however I should have paid attention to some of the earlier reviews. How does this guy move around? Very choppy storyline, good HOPS, got stuck a few times with no idea of what to do next - used hints and skipped a few of the mini games because I just couldn't be bothered trying to figure them out. Quite short and a very quick and anti-climatic ending.
I have purchased both previous versions of Bonfire Stories and had no hesitation in buying the CE of Manifest Horror despite the poor reviews here. This game was pathetic and not up to other Mariaglorum standards. It is an insult to the intelligence of lovers of this series and genre. The storyline is disjointed and convoluted. The method of play is repetitive and completely controlled by the game. I played to the end just to see if it got any better - it didn't. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS ONE!
I have played quite a few of the MT series and much prefer them to the Mystery Case Files series however this latest offering was quite a let down. The developers seem to have lost interest and not only was the story disjointed, the graphics, flow and level of challenge was fairly ordinary. Certainly not what I expected and I won't be purchasing another. The ending came on quite suddenly, nearly like they had run out of ideas by the end and there was one scene in the panic room that just couldn't be and didn't end up being resolved. Not impressed.
Loved the first one and this one didn't disappoint

I was attracted to the first Beyond game just because it was something different to the ghosts and spirits usually found in HOG's. It was fun and challenging and so is this one. The storyline follows on from the first instalment but you don't need to have played to understand this one. I really enjoy the intergalactic theme and the game was challenging enough that I had to turn on hints & skips near the end. It was a good long play and provided enough variety to keep me engaged to the finish. Highly recommend.
Hands down the best HOG I've played in a very long time. Right from the start I was completely drawn in by the quality of graphics, storyline and over all flow of the game. The mini games are a bit different and require a bit of thought and there is a good mix through out the game of finding what you need, playing games and HO scenes. The colours were bright and I play one level up so I can still use a map to navigate if I get a bit stuck or to jump between scenes. This was a good long game and kept me intrigued to the last scene. I'll be looking for more from this developer.
Artifex Mundi were for a long time my favourite games publisher however the last few I have had from them have been disappointing to say the least. The graphics, storyline and mini-games all scratchy and disjointed and either no challenge at all or just didn't make sense. HOP's very easy. This was more like a childs game. Wouldn't recommend purchasing.
Whilst not often prompted to write reviews, this game was so appallingly bad in graphics and storyline that I felt compelled to warn gamers off wasting their money. Mini games were haphazard and I skipped so many because they either didn't work or didn't make sense in how they functioned. Scenes were disjointed and difficult to navigate and the storyline was disjointed. Some games seem to take forever to end. This one, I couldn't wait for it to end. When it did, it was very abrupt. No satisfying conclusion after wading through this one. It just got worse as the game progressed. Don't bother with this one.
I'm not often prompted to write a review and usually only when I have exceptionally enjoyed a game but in this instance, the quality of this game was so poor, I felt compelled to submit a review. Whilst the storyline starts off OK, it deteriorates quickly and the animation is truly terrible. Scenes don't blend and I really could NOT have got through this without the map hints as the story loses direction and makes no sense in so many of the locations. I have never skipped so many mini puzzles in a game as they either didn't function properly or were just bizarre in the way they operated. This is just lazy game development and certainly not worth spending money on. Find something else.
Really enjoyed this fun game. A long story with some twists you don't see coming. What I liked most was the modern setting and graphics. No dark gloomy dungeons or monsters. Heaps of mini games and hidden object puzzles to keep you distracted. Skipped through some as I just don't like fast pace games but all in all I felt happy enough at the end to write a review. Recommended for a good few hours to play.
