I'm liking my HOG's in a more modern setting and this one has it all. Great twists to the story and challenging without being frustrating. Not repetitive and provided a good few hours entertainment. I'll be looking for more in this series.
Really - if you're going to use a classic tale as the basis of a game, please do it well and engagingly. Very formulaic as you make your way through all points of the compass in Oz and very easy game to play once you figure it out. There is, however, a bit of a twist at the end just to make you grimace.
I liked the different setting - modern & space related instead of ancient dungeons & castles. The storyline was OK and the game flows well with a few little "what the?" moments but overall I enjoyed the game mainly due to the different graphics & setting.
I have become a little dubious of reviews on new games as many appear to rave over games that just don't deserve it. This one did. Good graphics, storyline and challenges. Recommended for fans of HOG Adventure games.
I've been searching through games and checking reviews. One thing I notice is the same reviewers consistently appear first with 5* raves. Sort by most recent to get a more balanced review. This was terrible. No story, no guidance - nothing. Just click your way around scenes and hope for the best. Reminded me of those old 'escape this room' type puzzle. Not fun.
I started on the demo and couldn't get past the first lot of dialogue. I came back and read the reviews so decided to keep plugging along. This is fairly simplistic game. Great graphics, LOTS of dialogue with a slow and repetitive storyline to the end of the demo. I don't think I'll bother to buy. Certainly can't see justification for previous rave reviews leaving me to question the validity of some. Methodical hidden objects, simple puzzles, not much challenge to it really.
Bit of an odd story line but easy to navigate, challenging puzzles and a LOT of scenes. This takes a long time to open up all the locations and the full story to be revealed. You do have to use your own initiative sometimes but it is pretty logical based on the items you have in your inventory. Quite enjoyed playing this game just because it didn't become frustrating at all.
It starts off with promise of a good storyline but my interest soon deteriorated as it became more and more repetitive. Couldn't bring myself to continue to the end. Don't waste your money buying this game.
Once upon a time in the small, undistinguished town of Silentville people started disappearing. Help uncover the mystery behind these disappearances and save the town from a curse!
This game didn't play well. It was clunky, navigation difficult and narration sections were pretty awful. Played to the end and it was like a really early version of this genre. Wouldn't recommend wasting your money unless you get it on a special.
